FuzzyMageFightisplayedby2-6players. HowtoWin Youwinthegamebyhaving8magiccardsinyourhand atanypointonyourturn. Youcannotwinwhilefusedwithanotherfuzzymage. Youcannotwinwhileinessenceform. SetUp 1.Rolladie.Theplayerwhorollsthehighestchooses theirfuzzymagefirstandisthefirstplayerfortherest ofthegame.Continuechoosing/distributingmages clockwise.Alternatively,distributethefuzzymagesat randombeginningwiththehighestroller.Eachfuzzy magehasuniqueabilitiesthatwillaidtheminbecoming themostmagicalfuzzymage!Unusedmageswhohave nochanceofbecomingthemostmagicalfuzzymage shouldbemercifullyplacedbackintotheboxsotheyare notforcedtowitnesswhattheyaremissingouton. 2.SetasidethefusecardsandGarbelcardastheyare notapartofthedeck.Shufflealltheremainingcards anddealeachplayer3cards. 3.Theplayerwhoreceivedtheirmagefirsttakestheir turnfirst.TheyalsobeginwiththeGarbel. 3

Rounds&Turns Beginningwiththefirstplayer,eachplayertakestheir turninclockwiseorder.Theturnorderstaysthesamefor eachroundtheentiregame.Aroundconsistsofeach playertakingoneturn. Duringthefirstround,playersmayonlyattackplayers thathavealreadytakenaturn.Ifaplayerhasn’ttakena turnyet,theycannotbeattackedinthefirstround. Actions Eachturnconsistsoftakingthreeactions. Actionsinclude: -Drawingacardfromtheface-downdrawpile. -Usingabilitiesuniquetoyourfuzzymage.Abilitiesstate howmanyactionsarerequired. -Attackinganopponent’smageoranopponent’smineon. -Placingacardinfrontofyouinyourbattlefield.All cardsexceptforthemineonareplacedface-downandare notrevealedtoopponentsuntilyouwishtousethem. Youmayperformanycombinationoftheseactionsupto threetotal.Youmayattacktwiceanddrawacardonone turn,drawthreecardsanotherturn,placeonecard face-downanddrawtwocards,etc. 4

HowtheCardsWork Cardsmustfirstbeplacedonthebattlefieldinordertouse theirabilities.Youcannotusetheabilityofacarddirectly fromyourhand(exceptformagicwhenattackingor defending).Placingacardonthebattlefieldcosts1action, butcostsnoactionstouseitsabilityonceit’sonthe battlefield. Youmayusetheabilityofaspellorpotioncard immediatelyafterplacingitonthebattlefield,butyoudo nothaveto.Youmaykeepface-downcardsinyour battlefieldaslongasyouwouldlikebeforeusingthem.If yourbattlefieldisfull(6cards),thenyoucannotplay potions,spells,traps,ormineonsfromyourhandorplace anymorecardsontothebattlefield.Youcannotswapcards inyourbattlefieldwithcardsinyourhand.Youmustfirst useordiscardoneormorecardscurrentlyinyourbattlefield inordertofreeupspaceformore. Thereisnolimittothenumberofcardsyoumayusefrom yourbattlefieldonaturnastheyarefreetoplayoncethey havebeenplaceddown.Forexample,ifyouhave6spell cardsface-downonyourbattlefield,youmayuseallofthem ononeturn. 6

Magic Youneed8magiccardsinyourhandon yourturntowin. Magicisalsowhatyouusetoattack anddefend!Magiccardscountas1 towardanattackordefensetotalwhen usedinafightdirectlyfromyourhand. Theycountas3towardanattackordefensetotalwhenused directlyfromthebattlefield.(seeAttackingandDefending sectionforanexampleofcalculatingattack/defense)You cannotusemagicfromyourhandorbattlefieldwhilein essenceform.NoteonChester:Magiccardsface-downinthe battlefieldonlycountas1eachtowardthe8totalneededfor Chestertowin. PotionsandSpells Youmayonlyuseapotionorspellabilityonyourturn unlessthecardspecificallystatesotherwise.Itisfreeto useitsabilityonceithasbeenplacedonthebattlefield. Youcannotusepotionsorspellsfromyourbattlefieldwhile inessenceform. 7

Traps Trapsareusedtogetrevengeonanother playerthatattacksyouoryourmineons. Youplaceatrapface-downonyour battlefieldusinganactiononyourturn andthenrevealittouseitsabilityon anotherplayer’sturnimmediatelyafter theyattackyou.Youmayuseoneormoretrapswhetheror notyousuccessfullydefendanattack.Atrapcanonlybeused againstaplayerthatisattackingyouoryourmineons.You cannotusetrapsfromyourbattlefieldwhileinessenceform. Note:Whenamageisattackedbyanothermageandis unabletodefendtheattack,theattackingplayerstealstwo cardsfromthedefendingmagefortheirsuccessfulattack BEFOREanytrapscanbeused. Mineons Mineonsaretheonlycardsplayed face-uponthebattlefield.Atthestartof yourturn,eachmineonallowsyouto drawonecardfornoactions. Mineonscanbeattackedanddefended!It takesamagicattackof2orgreaterto toremoveamineonfromthebattlefield.Youmaydefend yourmineonswithmagicfromyourbattlefieldand/oryour hand.Trapsmaybeactivatedinresponsetoanattackona mineon.Youmaynotdefendmineonswheninessenceform, buttheycanstillbeattacked.Whenamineonisdefeated,it goesintothediscardpile.Youmaystilldrawcardsfromyour mineonswhileinessenceform. 8

TheGarbel TheGarbellovescards.TheGarbel lovescardssomuchthatitstealscards fromfuzzymages! Theplayerwhotakestheirturnfirst inthegamestartswiththeGarbel.At theendofyourturn,iftheGarbelis withyou,yourollthedie.Ifyourolla 5or6,theGarbelmovesontothenextplayer(clockwise). Ifyoudon’trolla5or6,theGarbelforcesyoutodiscarda cardfromyourhandatrandomanditstayswithyou. TheGarbelautomaticallymovesontothenextplayerifyou havenocardsinyourhandattheendofyourturn. IftheGarbelstealsthelastcardinyourhand,it immediatelymovesontothenextplayer. Atacking&Defending Whenattackingafuzzymageormineon,youmustdeclare howmuchmagicyouareattackingwith.Eachattackcosts oneaction.Youmayonlyattackonefuzzymageormineon atatime. Yourattacktotalisacombinationofmagicfromyourhand (worth1eachtowardthetotal)and/orface-downmagic fromyourbattlefield(worth3eachtowardthetotal).It doesnotcostadditionalactionstousemagicfromthe battlefield.Theactiontousethesecardswaspaidwhen theywereplacedface-down. 9

Similarly,youcanuseanynumberofmagiccardsfrom yourhandandtheentireattackstillcostsoneaction.Itis notoneactionpercard,butoneactionfortheentireattack. Aftertheattackerdeclarestheirattacktotaltoattacka fuzzymageormineon,thedefenderdeclarestheamountof magictheyareusingtodefendtheattack.Thedefender canalsousemagicfromtheirhandworth1andface-down magicfromtheirbattlefieldworth3todefend.Itcostszero actionstodefend. Iftheattacktotalisgreaterthanthedefensetotal,the attackerwinsthebattle. Allmagicusedinthefight,frombothattackerand defender,isimmediatelydiscarded.Iftheattackwas successfulagainstafuzzymage,theattackerstealstwo cardsatrandomfromthedefender’shandandthedefender flipstheirfuzzymagecardtoessenceform. Iftheattackwassuccessfulagainstamineon,themineon isplacedinthediscardpileandnocardsarestolenfrom thehandofthedefender. Ifthedefenderdefendsanyattack,allmagicisdiscarded butnothingelsehappens. 10

Exampleforcalculatingattack/defense: Player#1has4face-downmagiccardsintheirbattlefield. Player#1alsohas3magiccardsintheirhand.They declareanattackonthefuzzymageofPlayer#2and decidetouse3oftheface-downmagiccardsand2ofthe magiccardsfromtheirhandintheattack.The3 face-downmagiccardsprovideanattackof9magic(3X 3)andthe2magiccardsfromtheirhandprovideanattack of2magic(2X1).TheattacktotalagainstPlayer#2is therefore11magic. Thedefendermustdecidetodefendtheattackbyrevealing atotalof11magicfromtheirface-downcardsandtheir handordeclaretheyhavelostthefight.Ifyoucannot produceenoughmagictodefendanattackoryoudon’twant todefendanattack,youdonothavetorevealanymagic cards.Yousimplylosethefightandtheattackerdiscards theirmagicusedintheattack. NoteonGretchen:Whetherornotshesuccessfullydefends anattack,shemaylaunchacounter-attackoncetheinitial attackagainstherisresolved. 11

EssenceFormExample EssenceForm&Fusing Whenaplayerdoesnotsuccessfully defendamagicattackagainsttheirfuzzy mageinbattle,theyturnovertheircard totheessenceformside.Aplayerin essenceformcannotwinthegameevenif theyhavetherequirednumberofmagic cardsintheirhandtowin.Theymay stilldrawacardforeachoftheirmineonsinplaybut cannotusetheirnormalthreeactionstodrawadditional cards,attack,orplacecardsinthebattlefieldwhilein essenceform.Theyalsocannotuseface-downcardsintheir battlefieldordefendtheirmineons. Aplayerinessenceformhas3optionsofwhattodoon theirturnafterdrawingcardsforanymineonsintheir battlefield. 1-Youmayrollthedietotrytoreturntofuzzyform.Ifa5 or6isrolled,youautomaticallyflipbacktofuzzyformand youbeginyourturnasnormal(youdonotdrawmorecards foryourmineons).Iftherollisnota5or6,youmay beginusingyouressenceformabilitiesorfuse(seeOptions #2and#3).Youmaychoosenottotryandrolltoreturnto fuzzyform,butyoucannottrytorollbacktofuzzyform afterusingessenceabilities(Option#2)onthatturn. 2-Youmayusetheessenceformabilitieslistedonthe essencesideofyourcard.Youmayperformeachabilityone timeperturnunlessstatedotherwise. 12

3-Youmayfusewithanotherfuzzymagethatisalsoin essenceform.Thiscanbedoneafterafailedattemptat rollingtotrytoreturntofuzzyformandafterusingessence abilities.Ifanothermageisinessenceform,youmustboth agreetofuse,creatingatemporaryalliance.Whenyouagree tofuse,eachmagereturnstofuzzyform(flipcharactercards over)andyoueachtakeafusecardofthesamecolortoshow thatyouarefused. Whilefused,eachplayerhasanadditionalactionontheir turnuntilthefuseisbroken.Theplayerwhoseturnit currentlyismaycontinuetheirturnasnormalusingalltheir normalfuzzyformactions,includingtheadditionalaction. Whilefused,anytimeoneoftheplayersinthefusefailsto defendanattackagainsttheirfuzzymageandmustflipto essenceformagain(orflipstoessenceformforanyother reason),bothplayersinthefusereturntoessenceformand arestillfused.Theywillnotbeabletoreturntofuzzyform againbyfusingastheyarealreadyfused.Theymust attempttoreturntofuzzyformbyrollingorusinganability thatallowsaplayertoreturntofuzzyform.Onceoneplayer successfullyreturnstofuzzyform,bothplayersimmediately returntofuzzyform.Aslongastwomagesarefused,their fatesareessentiallytiedtogether. Eachmagemayonlybefusedwithoneothermageatatime. Theremaybemorethanonefusedpairinthegameatone time.Example,players#1and#2canbefusedwhileplayers #3and#4arealsofused. 13

BreakingaFuse Tobreakafusebetweentwofuzzymages,oneofthefused playersmustattackanddefeattheotherfuzzymagethey arefusedwith.Thedefendingplayerthatlosesthefight goesintoessenceformasusual,buttheattackingplayer doesnot.Thevictorstealstwocardsatrandomfromthe handofthedefeatedplayer,thefuseisbroken,andeach playercontinuesplayasnormal.Thefusecardsareset asideandeachplayerisbacktotheir3normalactions. Ontheturnthatthefuseinitiallyoccurs,theplayerwhose turnitcurrentlyiscannotimmediatelyattacktheplayer theyhavejustfusedwith.Theymustwaituntilthenext roundtoattack.Playingapotionforanextraturndoesnot satisfythisrequirementasthatprovidesanextraturn,not anewround.Theplayerthatfusedwhenitwasnottheir turncanattackontheirfirstturnafterthefuse. ExampleRound(4Players) Player#1-Shedrawstwocards.Eachdrawcosts1actionso shehas1actionremaining.Shecurrentlyhasnocardsin herbattlefieldsosheplacesonemagicface-downinthe battlefieldforherfinalaction.Herturnisover. Player#2-Heplacesamagiccardface-downinhis battlefieldforoneaction.Forhissecondaction,heplacesa mineonfaceupinhisbattlefield.Forhisthirdaction,he attacksplayer#1. 14
