Welcome to see Sikkim Food Culture

The beautiful state of Sikkim located in the northeastern part of India is a hub of delectable and mouth-watering food items in India.







Momos  Momos are a type of dumplings.  Traditionally, momos are prepared with ground meat filling.  In Sikkim, meat and cheese fillings are more famous.

Thukpa  Thukpa is a hot noodle soup.  It made with mixing vegetables and/or chicken.  It goes well with the cold weather of northeastern.

Chhpuri  Chhurpi is a traditional cottage cheese found in Sikkim, Darjeeling, Ladakh, etc.  Chhurpi is prepared in a local dairy or at home from buttermilk  The two varieties of chhurpi are a soft variety and a hard variety.

Sael Roti  Sel roti is a traditional homemade ring-shaped rice bread originating from Nepal which is sweet in taste.  It is mostly prepared during Dashain and Tihar, widely celebrated Hindu festivals in Sikkim

Tchang  Tchang is a millet-based alcoholic beverage.  It is used for many occasions for instance weddings, birthdays, festivals etc
