‫‪‎ 100 Verse 4‬سورۃ العاديات‬ ‫‪Dust‬‬ ‫‪12‬‬

VVeerrssee&&TTrraannsslalatitoionn Verse 4 ٤ ‫َف َأثَ ۡر َن بِهِۦ َن ۡق ًعا‬ Raising clouds of dust. Let's Read Together And because of the incredible speed at which they are sprinting, it causes dust to fly here and there. Both them and the enemies have clouded vision. They cannot see each other. Yet, they throw themselves towards danger without thinking twice. 13

‫سورۃ العاديات‬‎ 100 Verse 5 Storming Into the Battle 14

VVeerrssee&&TTrraannsslalatitoionn Verse 5 ٥ ‫فَ َو َس ۡط َن بِهِۦ َجمۡ ًعا‬ Storming into the midst of the enemies. Let's Read Together And when the dust settles, suddenly they find themselves behind enemy lines. They are surrounded from all directions. They are already cornered by the enemies and there is no way back. 15

VVeerrssee&&TTrraannsslalatitoionn Verse 6 ٦ ‫إِ َّن ٱل ۡ ِإن َس ٰـ َن لِ َر ّبِهِۦ لَ َك ُنو ٌد‬ Surely man is ungrateful to his Lord. Let's Read Together Suddenly, Allah changes the topic. Why? How is this related to the scenes before? Well, mankind is much like horses. They are always chasing the world without thinking twice just as the horses charge towards the enemies without thinking. 17

‫سورۃ العاديات‬‎ 100 Verse 7 Self-witness to His Own Deeds 18

VVeerrssee&&TTrraannsslalatitoionn Verse 7 ٧‫َوِإنَّ ُهۥ عَل َ ٰى َذٰلِ َك لَ َش ِهي ٌد‬ And he bears witness to that. Let's Read Together Mankind is knowingly disobedient. They know that they disobey Allah. So, they are unlike the horses. Horses obey their masters, charging towards the enemies even if it could hurt them. But mankind disobey Allah even if it promises them great rewards. 19

‫‪‎ 100 Verse 8‬سورۃ العاديات‬ ‫‪Greed‬‬ ‫‪20‬‬

VVeerrssee&&TTrraannsslalatitoionn Verse 8 ٨‫َوِإنَّ ُهۥ ِلحُ ِّب ٱلۡخَ ۡي ِر لَ َش ِدي ٌد‬ And he is truly excessive in his love of wealth. Let's Read Together People disobey because they are blinded by this world such that they do not see the rewards in the Hereafter that are far better than the pleasures of this world. They are like the horses which focus on the enemies, and do not see anything else. 21

‫سورۃ العاديات‬‎ 100 Verse 9 Resurrection 22

VVeerrssee&&TTrraannsslalatitoionn Verse 9 ٩ِ‫أَ َفلَا َي ۡعلَ ُم إِ َذا ُب ۡعثِ َر َما ف ِى ٱلۡ ُق ُبور‬ Does he not know that when the contents of the graves are spilled out, Let's Read Together Then, Allah scolds humans for their negligence. They should not be like the horses. Because horses are not responsible for their actions but humans are. We will be brought back from the graves and our deeds will be exposed. 23

‫سورۃ العاديات‬‎ 100 Verses 10 Secrets of the Heart 24

VVeerrssee&&TTrraannsslalatitoionn Verses 10 ١٠ ِ‫َو ُح ِّص َل َما ف ِى ٱل ُّص ُدور‬ And when the secrets of the hearts will be exposed, Let's Read Together Not only the deeds done by our hands and feets, but also the intentions that are hidden in our hearts. Allah will bring out everything that is hidden there. No pretentious good deeds will be rewarded and no well-intended bad deeds will be unpunished. 25

‫سورۃ العاديات‬‎ 100 Verse 11 All-Aware 26

VVeerrssee&&TTrraannsslalatitoionn Verse 11 ١١ ۢ‫إِ َّن َر َّب ُهم بِ ِه ۡم يَ ۡو َمئِ ٍذ لَّخَبِي ُر‬ That their Lord is All-Aware of them on that Day. Let's Read Together Nothing is a secret from Allah. He knows what we do. And He also knows what we keep in our hearts. He is aware of everything that is visible and hidden. 27

Summary Surah al-’Adiyat talks about the heedlessness of man. His fierce love towards worldly possessions and his ungratefulness towards Allah. On the Day of Judgment, every deed and the true human nature will be made known to Allah as He is All-Aware.
