Activity 1 Build Your Own River Model! Materials: Modelling clay Mini Grass Pebbles Carpet Happy Quran Kit Box A glass of water Instructions: (This activity might cause water spills. Ask your parents for a suitable place to do this.) 1 Mold the modelling clay into the shape of a river. Make the clay with curved up sides to create the riverbank and to avoid the water spilling into the box. 2 Now you can decorate the landscape with pebbles and the mini grass carpet to fit in the landscape.You can also put the river on the side of the box, so don't have to cut the grass. 3 You’re almost there! All you need is water to fill up your mini river 14 model and you’re done!

Lessons: When this Surah was revealed, it made the Prophet (SAW) extremely happy. Because it talks about Allah’s gift to the Prophet (SAW) in the form of a river that flows continuously on the Day of Judgment. On that difficult day, believers will drink from it and will go through that day easily. However, some will not be allowed to drink from it because they made too many sins in this world. Activity 3 Create Your Fluffy Sheep Craft! Materials: Cotton balls Googly eyes Glue 3 Printed sheep shapes Instructions: 1 Cut out your cute sheep following the dotted lines. 2 Glue some cotton balls to your sheep body except sheep’s face & sheep’s foot. 3 Stick the googly eyes on. 4 Carefully fold the sheep in half. Now your cute fluffy sheep can stand up! Put it on the map of Mecca (you can find this in the Shawwal Happy Quran Kit) or use it to play in your room. 18

4a If the paper doesn’t stand by itself, you can cut up a strip of paper, fold them into thirds and glue the insides of the ‘sheep’s legs’ onto the folded paper 4b If you use green paper, it will support your cute sheep and will look like grass too! 5 Repeat the same steps for the second and the third sheep. Now you have three white sheeps! Well done! Lessons: This activity is related to verse 2 of Surah Al-Kawthar on the ibadah of qurbān. You made the cute sheep craft as a sample of a type of animal that can be used as for qurban. The qurban history is traced back to the time of Prophet Ibrahim. Being human, we will always need to sacrifice some things that we love for the sake of others. And there is no bigger sacrifice than the ones that we do for the sake of Allah. Test Your Knowledge: 1. When did Allah first ask humans to perform qurban 2. List some examples of the animals that can be sacrificed in the ibadah of qurbān. 19

Activity 4 Let’s Make the Family Tree of Our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) Materials: The family tree diagram Sticker of Prophet Foam Glue Muhammad’s (SAW) paper Family members Instruction: 1 Stick the names of the Prophet’s family members onto the Family tree diagram on page 22-23. 3 Now, you can start to decorate the surroundings of the tree with grass, leaves and cute birds by using the foam paper included in the kit! Lessons: The verse 3 of surah al-Kawthar remind those who do not like Prophet Muhammad ‫ ﷺ‬that they will be cut off from the good things in this world and the hereafter. We should honor the Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬and defend his honor out of love. Getting to know the Prophet’s family tree is among the things that we can do to love and honor him. True love for him is a part of iman (faith) because the Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬said: “None of you will have Faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind” ¹. ¹ Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 1, Book 2, Hadith 15 21
