Quills 'n' Stills 8th Edition: Midsummer \"We Created this perfect illusion for you\" ~Team Q'n'S

Letter from the Coordinator Dear Students, Reading literature enables us to see the world through the eyes of others. It trains the mind to be flexible, to comprehend other points of view. Literature has had an impact on the development of society. Literature gives us a detailed preview of human experiences, allowing us to connect on basic levels of desire and emotion. When students read magazines, they learn to appreciate words and their power. They travel to other realms and times through the texts they read. They understand their own culture and others through the valuable contents of the magazine. I hope this magazine shall be very helpful in shaping the mindset of our students and helping them flourish in society. DR A.K. VYAS Coordinator (IIIT Kota)

Quills'n'Stills GTroakteintoufde I believe that creating anything of value requires a determined team effort. The same goes with this magazine. The final published edition is the result of many long hours of work by individuals who like to see the best version of the magazine come out. That’s why, firstly, I would like to congratulate the entire team of Q’n’S for publishing yet another fine edition of our institute magazine. I’d then like to thank my seniors for always guiding us whenever we went a bit astray from the end goal. It's always great to have someone to take advice from whenever there is a need for it. I’d also like to extend my gratitude towards our institute faculty members, and staff members who provide us with their support whenever we feel the need for it. Publishing this magazine without their support would’ve been impossible. Lastly, but most importantly, I’d like to thank all the fine contributors who send in their amazing entries to be published in our magazine. And to the readers, the ones who we do it all for, thank you for choosing to spend your time with these artists. With everyone happy, I think it’s time you turn the page over and dive right into the magazine.

Quills'n'Stills Eedyietor's H ello Readers, I hope you’re feeling every bit as excited about reading this new summer edition of Q’n’S as we are after publishing it. Each year, summer carries with it a sweet mist of nostalgia. Although with every passing year we are drifting further and further away from those adventurous childhood vacationjs, we still can’t deny that every one of us looks forward to vacations just as much as we did back then. Most of us step into this summer period with a lot of goals, each one with an elaborate day-by-day plan, but at this point, I am sure that time during vacations races through like it’s in a Formula One race, and hence number of our goals remain unfulfilled. Yet each person is never the exact same being as he/she was before the start of the vacation. Whether it is through an adventurous wander or through a sweet summer fling, we all come away with experiences that we can’t wait for our friends to know. I hope you’re having one of those remarkable summers. And if it just so happens that things aren’t really going your way, and it’s only the heat waves that’s been faking you out, don’t worry, we are in the same boat mate. Turn up the music with Bruce Sprinsteen’s “Waiting On a Sunny Day” and make yourself comfortable for a dive into the magazine. I hope you have an amazing time with this edition. Ciao. Similar as an object, but differs in reality. We all have agreed on a quote for a while which goes like- “Humans are inspired by nature.” I think we might have read it wrong. We aren’t inspired by nature, we are nature. Whenever it rains, however tensed the scenario may be, one feels replenished by petrichor (smell of the wet soil). Global Information Tracker or Goddamn Idiotic Truckload of sh*t Git is one of the most used fundamental tools for being a developer. According to Wikipedia: { Git is a software for tracking changes in any set of } files, usually used for coordinating work among programmers collaboratively developing source code during software development. Its goals include speed, data integrity, and support for distributed, non-linear workflows (thousands of parallel branches running on different systems). Git was originally authored by Linus Torvalds in 2005 for the development of the Linux kernel, with other kernel developers contributing to its initial development. A lot of new terminologies huh? In There is a very interesting backstory simple words, git allows a healthy about the development of git: collaboration between developers Linux kernel developers were using and allows us, lazy-ass developers, BitKeeper, a proprietary Source Code from doing redundant work and Management(SCM) system, since multiple copies of the same work. Quills'n'Stills So now many developers of Linux kernel gave up access to BitKeeper. Linus wanted to have a distributed system like BitKeeper. For his design criterion, he specified that patching should take no more than three seconds, and added three more goals: > Take the Concurrent Versions System (CVS) as an example of what not to do; if in doubt, make the exact opposite decision. (LOL) > Support a distributed, BitKeeper-like workflow. > Include very strong safeguards against corruption, either accidental or malicious. These were very ambitious goals considering the technology of the time. These criteria eliminated every version-control system in use at the time, thus, immediately after the 2.6.12-rc2 Linux kernel development release, began the development of the single most used DVCS on 3 April 2005. Surprisingly Torvalds achieved his goals on 29 April and on 16 June, Git managed the kernel 2.6.12 release. But come on, this is Linus Torvalds. Unexpectedness is expected of him. Now, let’s understand some basics of git. What is VCS? The file history appears as snapshots Version control is a system that in time called commits, and the records changes to a file or set of files over time so that you can recall commits exist as a linked-list specific versions later. Their Hina revealed something to Hodaka about her abilities that really changed things. There's an old adage that says everything comes at a price. Hina's talents were in a similar situation. So, how much did it cost? Were they apprehended by the cops? So, what happened next? You must see the film in order to do so. The animation in this film is the greatest part. The animation is stunning, and I'd go so far as to say flawless. Every element has been meticulously completed.

Quills'n'Stills INVISIQUE LIVING I feel as if I don’t exist As if my breath doesn't carry away a difference, As if my smile doesn't matter anymore, As if my words aren't sound, My voice isn't bound and my vision Has gone numb to all that is light. Those hands were cold as a stoned heart, Waiting for the warmth of blood to be poured upon, To be seen and to be heard, To be saved from whatsoever behind. I stink of rose petals and I sound preposterous, isn't it hurting? I am trying to be flared upon my own Guilt, ridden by truths I've endured my life to, I am a lost soul, wandering in the night sky looking for a star to be carried away. - Ramesh Kumar Saragadam 33

Quills'n'Stills Curse of Valentine Here I pass the death I shall abide, words I spill and then deny, I too am a victim of the suffering you could imagine, lying pale and thorough among my faction. Love, you are not alone you just haven't met me yet, my anger soothes your passion. Trust me there is more to us, people are compelled to not see you, Your potency and wizardry But then again how would I ever have discovered your charm, my love. There's nothing true in this, In you, in me, and so-called us. Everything fades away, Be it My pride or your prejudice and The only thing that remains is our undying love, Through centuries and beyond. I let you feel me, so did you, In the deepest way, among the darkest of times It's time for us to bid goodbye And still, we won't leave our hands, Until eternity passes by. - Ramesh Kumar Saragadam 34
