NAVNIDH HASSOMAL LAKHANI PUBLIC SCHOOL
Ms. Amrita Motwani PRINCIPAL, NHLPS Journey of Success Along with being the proud Principal of Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School, I am also an authorized CBSE trainer and conduct workshops for CBSE teachers across the state. I truly feel that these workshops are a great medium of give and take of knowledge & experience, enrichment of one's life and adding meaning & value to it! Besides, so many memories get etched into mind that give you a reason to smile whenever you get reminiscent! In each workshop, along with the course content, my hidden agenda is to sensitize the teachers, to teach them how to deal with the students with more empathy, to tell them the importance of a strong teacher - student relationship, to hold a discussion on the need of inculcating moral values in today's generation and how teachers can be instrumental in it, to make them realize that on us, the teachers, lies the onus of shaping the lives of our learners and that it is a great responsibility to be a teacher. Teachers are usually deeply moved and by the end of the two day workshop, transformed for the better! I deliver in the workshops only that what I have learnt and imbibed from Shraddhey Siddh Bhauji! It gives me immense satisfaction to spread his word among the teaching fraternity. Bhauji's preachings have indeed served as a great teaching aid to me.
As I go into reminiscence and recollect memories of my journey in school , I realize that I am blessed to be under his tutelage! Before joining this school .... 'I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills' Siddh Bhauji has connected my whole life with Sewa, Simran and Samarpan by motivating me to do my job honestly and making me understand its value & miracles, the sweet fruits of which, I am reaping in the form of more peace within myself, more success in my professional life and more recognition in society. At numerous times I have felt blessings coming all the way to me. ' I had neither wit nor words nor worth, Action nor utterance nor the power of speech ' My school is my second home. I have wept, I have laughed and I have grown as a person here. I have the honour of being one of the founder teachers of the institution and this fact gives me lot of pleasure and a sense of pride and I couldn't find any other occasion apt for expressing it than this Foundation Day of the Society! I pray to His Holiness Sant Hirdaram Sahibji for bounties of blessings so that our Shaheed Hemu Kalani Educational Society keeps growing by leaps and bounds with each passing day!
I belong to a very ordinary family where education of girls is a far fetched dream. When I see students complaining about burden of studies I feel like sharing my life story with them. Their excuse of stress of studies sometimes makes me wonder why they are not thankful to their parents and their school for providing them all sorts of facilities? Instead of being grateful, many seem to be thankless! Growing up in a big joint family, in a typical orthodox atmosphere, dominated by my grandmother, I had lots of problems in my concern list. Education wasn’t that important in that part of my remote hometown, but the desire to study and earn a name and respect for myself in society kept me moving with grit and determination. Most of my cousins and even my siblings got married and settled after studying in that town school. But I fought for my identity, fought the battle to be my own person, fought the battle so as not to let other people's opinions and negativity overpower me. One big challenge in my life was during my college time when I had to study everything in English. Those times seemed very hard for me because my entire school education was from a Sindhi medium school. Well, being a science student and taking inspiration from the lifecycle of a butterfly, I understood fully well that if I had to grow, I had to be prepared to burn the midnight oil for my survival . Today I feel proud of taking that giant leap, of stepping out of the four walls of the household and work in a school of such great repute which is known in the entire city, not only for its high academic standard but also for inculcating moral values in children. I feel lucky to be a part of this mission where I am making myself useful for the society and also getting a chance to grow each and every day. Well, metaphorically saying, never look for the light, light your own light! The facilities and the resources the children have today can bring a big change in this nation, it’s just, that they have to come forward and grab the opportunity. I am sharing my story of struggle to give the message to people that- 'Never let anyone else's opinion affect your growth. Always have a dream in life and light up your own light.' GRATITUDE Gratitude, they say, is one of the greatest virtues. While I was praying last evening and expressing gratitude towards the Almighty for being so kind and blessing me with all the happiness of life, I realized that it is all because I joined Shaheed Hemu Kalani Educational Society's one of the best institution Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School . In 2002, when the school was established and I entered in the class for the first time, I was very excited but nervous too. My first teaching experience taught me what it means to be a teacher and an educator. My journey continued from there as a primary teacher to a secondary teacher and finally to an academic coordinator. The vision and the mission of the society brought a great change in me. I have inculcated in my children all the values/ virtues gained from my parents and Rev. Siddh Bhauji. With the blessings of His Holiness Santji and motivation of Rev. Siddh Bhauji, I have realized my strengths & potential and have been working more efficiently today. I hope to serve the institution with the same vigour in future too. TREASURED MEMORIES Last night, while contemplating and turning the pages of my life, I remembered the struggling phase of my career. With the blessings of Paramhans Sant Hirdaram Sahibji and Almighty, I am fortunate to be a part of Shaheed Hemu Kalani Educational Society - a caravan empowering the girls by imparting education and inculcating values. I have always been enthusiastic, dedicated and hard working in discharging my duties at my workplace. I fondly recall the day when I got a life changing opportunity of being an academic coordinator. I was overwhelmed and delighted that my efforts were recognised by Rev. Sidh Bhauji, a fatherly figure, captain of the crew & mentor and all the management members. This epochal event changed the course of my life. It was a blessing to me. I definitely found myself in a better place as a professional. Being appointed as an academic coordinator, there was a flow of positive energy, confidence and strength in me. This chance definitely helped me in identifying my administrative skills and polishing them with the passage of time. I was in a mystified situation, where on one hand, I was struggling with the new roles and responsibilities and on the other hand there was a scuffle of being accepted by the colleagues and friends. As every cloud has a silver lining, I eventually managed to fit in with my fellow staff members despite a difficult start. I really feel content following the service philosophy of Sant Hirdaram Sahibji and feel blessed to be a part of this society for the last twenty years that has brought prosperity, peace and everlasting happiness in my life. Last but not the least, I express my gratitude to Reverend Siddh Bhauji, my source of inspiration for having trust in me and enthrusting charge of Std. I to V. I am thankful to Almighty for showering His choicest blessings in the form of my association with a golden-hearted person like Ms. Amrita Motwani, our Principal, who has always been there for me to help and guide even in the most distressing conditions. I am also thankful to God for blessing me with true friends Ms. Rekha Kewlani, Ms.Rini Sunil & many more who have been supporting me all the time. Overall, I feel blessed to be in this school! Journey of Shaheed Hemu Kalani Educational Society A journey began with a pious vision to enlighten and educate minds raw and straight & bring out genuine human traits. Salute to all the hands united working together to move ahead & give a real shape to the vision to awaken everyone's pride & attention. Here a child, is a sapling becomes a strong tree with care and right upbringing ready for whatsoever struggling and emerging as someone outstanding. Right backing and motivation is the part of child's spirit and mission trading on the path uncertain becomes easy and certain to reach the right destination. May God keep showering His kind blessings & caressing & the journey of brightening the young minds remains ever going. Himanshi Lalwani (PGT- English)
Conscious Mind is just a shadow of our Unconscious Mind.. In the movie \"Taare Zameen Par\", the art teacher tells the rude & cursing father of the dyslexic kid about \"Solomon Islands\", where the tribals don’t cut down a tree to destroy it. Rather, they surround the tree and curse it for hours every day. Within a few weeks, the tree dries up & dies. So, when the tribals of Solomon Islands curse a tree, they are actually installing negative & harmful beliefs in the tree’s emotion (Yes! trees do have emotions) Within few days, those negative emotions become a belief & eventually change its molecular architecture and kill it from inside.. 2500 years ago, Buddha had said ‘You are what you think you are! ' If you are a parent and you keep cursing your child in the name of constructive criticism, you are installing beliefs in their mind which will keep harming them forever.... But if you keep appreciating them sincerely, you are installing beliefs in their mind which will help them grow in their lives.... Also be careful of what you keep saying to yourself because repetition of words & thoughts is the best way to install a belief in your subconscious mind.If you keep saying you are a loser, don’t be surprised to become a loser in a few months or years. If your friends say such things to you, there is no harm in saying a quick goodbye to them. May be you value their friendship but you must value yourself more than such friendship. Accept all people as they are. Love all people unconditionally and believe in Vasudeva Kutumbakam . Last, but not the least, always keep saying to yourself, 'I am healthy, wealthy, happy, successful & prosperous!' Anju Gogia (PGT- English)

‘Life can be quite unpredictable at times but we must bear in mind that nothing is impossible if we have the determination to accomplish something. No lockdown can stop the education fraternity from disseminating knowledge. COVID-19 is powerless before the enthuSiastic teaching fraternity who is committed to continue the teaching learning process. I believe the current global crisis nudges us to think and learn together and simplify many things in life.’ With the blessings of his Holiness Sant Hirdaram Sahib ji and the path enlightened by Rev. Siddh BhauJi, NHLPS believes that a minuscule virus should not be allowed to disrupt the education fraternity. Hence, our school designed a detailed plan for every teacher to impart knowledge to students through various digital platforms. At first, I was a bit anxious with the idea of flipped classroom teaching as it is a great responsibility to live up to the expectations of parents, students and administration. I faced various challenges where I had to rethink, adjust and adapt to the online teaching environment, all in a very short time. I think the transition, overall has worked surprisingly well. Teaching online, boosted my confidence and also helped to discover the hidden qualities in me. I wasn’t aware about my multitasking abilities and skills. The best part of teaching online was that it gave me an opportunity to hone my classroom management skills. Today, I communicate through computer or phone screen with small squares displaying the names of students, but I wish I could have small talks with them which I used to have in school premises. I miss meeting them in the classroom everyday. However, I emphasise that without the blessings and support from our motivator, Rev. Siddh Bhauji along with our Principal, Mrs Amrita Motwani and teaching colleagues, all this would have never been possible! I am blessed to be a part of Navnidh Family run by Shaheed Educational Society. Garima Rijhwani (PRT English)
SCHOOL, THE SECOND HOME FOR CHILDREN *In the classroom* *We laugh together* *We encourage one another* *We get a second chance* *We never give Up* *We apologize* *We forgive* *We respect one another* *We keep oUr promises* *We are a family* Definitely, school is the second home of kids. Their major time is spent in the school. They play as well as learn with their classmates. The learning process that takes place in school is responsible shaping their behaviour in the future. The school establishes a foundation of information & wisdom for kids. In the initial years, when parents send their kids to school they are tensed & worried whether their kid will be able to cope up with the environment of the school or not. But as days pass, the children become habitual to the school environment & the process becomes hassle-free. The children get adjusted to the environment & the school becomes their second home. The classmates become like family members for them. Here they learn the major lessons of life too. From the academics to moral values, majority of the lessons are learnt at school. These are the reasons why school is a family of many families together. The most crucial time of one’s life is spent in school. Teachers give their best to the children. Each child is different and their needs are also different. Some of them need extra attention and some need extra training. Not everything can be taught in a group. So whenever necessary, the teachers give personal attention, love and care to children like their parents at home. School is like a family where, the teachers act as parents, always ready to protect their children from the external bad influences and nurture them in the best way possible. School days are stress free days of one's life. Hemlata Arora (PRT- Science)

Vegetarian food leaves a deep impression on the way we think and act. If the whole world adopts vegetarianism, it can change the destiny of humankind. 25th November, International Meatless Day, Animal Rights Day, SAK (Stop All Killing) is a concept developed by those who concurred with Sadhu Vaswani ji when he proclaimed that the creation of God is bound by the golden chains to the feet of one God who is the Divine Father of us all..... I was born in a non-vegetarian joint family. As a little child, I too used to consume meat because at such a tender age it was really difficult for me to make rational additions in my diet. My mother has the greatest impact on my life , she always inclined me towards turning into a vegetarian. She believed that having a meatless diet does wonders to one's body. She also briefed me about the ill effects of consuming meat on body and mind. My journey of turning into a vegetarian ignited when I joined Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School as a student . Rev. Siddh Bhauji's enlightening sessions on going meat -free and also to stop cruelty against meek and innocent animals moved me spiritually. I really felt so enlightened after listening to such divine and pure thoughts that I pledged to be a vegetarian. I remember that I and my friends were provided with certificates the day we filled the pledge forms for being vegetarians throughout our lives. I still have that certificate which I have proudly displayed in my drawing room. I am really thankful to Rev. Bhauji , my Alma mater, for bringing this positive change in me. Without his guidance I would still be killing and eating so many meek animals! I find myself immensely blessed and fortunate that I got a chance to study in Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School. And not only this, today I have the proud privilege to serve this institution as a teacher and imbibe all those qualities in my students which I have inculcated from Reverend Siddh Bhauji !
