PTE describe image template
In the PTE Speaking section, the Describe image task is one of the most challenging tasks, as it requires you to view an image on the screen and describe it for 40 seconds. You need to provide an accurate summary with only relevant details in it, as there is not enough time to describe all the details given in the image, but you need to describe the key features or trends as shown in the image. If you are answering Describe image questions, you will have 25 seconds to prepare and 40 seconds to speak, and you will get 3 to 4 of these questions in the PTE test. At the top of the screen, you can see the task prompt, which describes what you need to do. On the left, you see the image you need to describe, and on the right, you see the audio recorder, which beeps when it is time to record.
There are three areas of scoring in PTE Describe image questions, namely content, pronunciation, and oral fluency. PTE asks you to provide a correct representation of the image in your response, and you should divide your response into three parts. In the introduction, you should provide an overview of what you will discuss, using the title given in the image. In the body, you should discuss the main points in two to three sentences, depending on how much time you have left. You should provide a conclusion, which should summarize the overall image. For PTE Describe image questions, you should make sure you are not talking about anything irrelevant, or else you will be penalized. For describe image pronunciation, you should make sure you are stressing the correct syllables in a word, and also your English should be
clear and easy to understand. In addition, oral fluency looks at how fluently you are speaking, if you are not hesitating, and if you have a good rhythm. You need to work on three key elements of oral fluency: sentence stress, pacing and pausing, and voice modulation. The sentence stress method requires you to emphasize the meaningful words in a sentence, for example, nouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs are regarded as meaningful words, and conjunctions, prepositions are regarded as grammatical words. It is important that you keep a normal pace when talking, neither too fast nor too slow, pauses are also crucial for the PTE algorithm to determine if you are speaking naturally or not, Lastly, you should modulate your voice for the describe image task, your voice should not
sound robotic, speaking in a monotonous tone, when preparing for the describe image you should learn to use your time wisely. It's only 25 seconds for preparation, so you should quickly study the graph and think about what key points you want to focus on. Don't get too detailed, or you may miss important points due to time constraints.
