PTE Test Format

Does the new PTE Exam format concern you? Have you prepared for it? PTE test format has changed since November 2021, are you aware of it? In November 2021, the length of the PTE exam format was 3 hours, but now it is around 2 hours. In addition, from the reading section of the PTE, around 29-30 minutes have been reduced, as well, as this reduction in time will help the test takers to finish the exam more quickly. There is no change to the personal introduction, read aloud, or repeat sentence parts of the new PTE exam format, although the number of described images has been reduced from 6-7 questions to 3-4 questions, and the number of tasks in PTE retell lecture has been shortened to just 1-2. Now, for the writing section of the updated PTE test

format, you will need to summarize up to two written texts instead of two. As a consequence, the number of essays you will write remains unchanged, thus reducing the overall number of speaking and writing questions from 40 to 28. Let's first look at what has changed in PTE Listening, as per the exam format. There are no changes in filling in blanks, highlighting incorrect words, and writing from dictation in this listening section; however, the summarizing spoken text, multiple choice, multiple answers, marking correct summary, multiple choice and selecting missing word have been reduced from 2 to 3 to 1 and 2. The PTE test report after November 2021 will show some changes. Your overall score as well as your listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills scores will remain untouched. The

Writing section will also take less time, from 54 to 67 minutes according to the new format. The optional break of 10 minutes will also remain. The type of questions in the new PTE academic, which means the difficulty level will also remain the same, the requirements for scores will also not change, for example, if 80 is the minimum score, then that score still needs to be achieved, In other words, colleges and immigration departments still accept PTE scores under the new format of PTE. The new PTE exam format looks faster and sleeker than before, but validity and difficulty remain unaffected. However, certain types of questions were reduced slightly, so overall it was good news for PTE test takers. Also, the comparison between PTE and IELTS has slightly changed in terms of bands.
