JUNE FEATURED ARTWORK - Still Life of an Apple // Acrylic Paint Squeegee Method Painting Students at Ericson Elementary school learned about drawing and painting from life! They were encouraged to draw real-life fruit that was brought in for their ArtReach lesson. After a simple squeegee technique of spread- ing paint throughout the whole background, these young artists then created their still life on top using just black and white paint, focusing on highlight and shadow.

AUGUST FEATURED ARTWORK What Makes Your Heart Happy? // Interior Paint This is a section from a happy hallway mural at Carson Elementary School. Kindergarten through 2nd grade students came up with paper cut-out shapes of things that make their heart happy: fruit, robots, sailboats, and planets, to name a few. ArtReach transferred their paper shapes to the wall by drawing them and we all painted it in together.
