2 June, 2021 | VOLUME 6 | ISSUE 6 Jay, Amber and Chef Rob Photo by Stunning Photography www.stunning-photography.com WE’RE BACK!!! Sushi on the Rock now rocking custom take-out, delivery and catering Sushi on the Rock is back in the community and has created a new dining experience featuring a unique take-out and delivery concept. Amber Johnson, who owned the 4S Ranch location, has teamed back up with Executive chef Robert Cassidy and Sushi chef Jay Mercado. The three were known for years with the 4S Ranch-based location as the “local favorites.” “Sushi on the Rock is back,” Cassidy says, “with our culinary catering facility in Rancho Ber- nardo we have put a new twist on local dining. People have embraced dining more in their homes with friends and family and we help create a beautiful array of cuisine to be taken home and shared.” Sushi on the Rock has catered for the MLB, NHL and NBA,” Cassidy continued. “We have a long list of celebrities, athletes and businesses that indulge in the amazing food, presentation and outstanding service. In fact, Hoffman, Giles and company got the Paterson sushi into the Padres clubhouse. It proved so popular that visiting teams also requested the catered experience with the Patterson eventually securing catering deals to MLB clubhouses throughout California. Sushi on the Rock partnered with a large-scale Rancho Bernar- do wholesale kitchen facility to create an in-person, warehouse storefront take-out experience as they beefed up their home, and event, catering operations. This direct kitchen to consumer concept has proven deliciously successful for sushi dining fans alike. That’s why Sushi on the Rock, along with its catering, and events, arm, Olive & Spice, is expanding its community con- sciousness, letting residents from the I-5 Corridor to the Del Mar beaches, and throughout North County to the great beyond know that convenient sushi takeout and delivery and catering is widely available, affordable and fun. Chef Cassidy grew up in the greater Los Angeles area, and then he moved to San Diego to pur- sue a career in firefighting. Later while working as a Sushi Chef ap- prentice, he discovered his passion for Asian cuisine. Since 2001, Chef Rob has been dedicated to SOTR with honest passion, and innova- tive techniques. His culinary flair continues to impress, delivering unique dishes and creating a variety of sauces that are unparal- leled. “Being behind the sushi bar for 20 years has been an incredible journey,” Cassidy said. “I have had the opportunity to learn, grow, train, mentor and most of all have met some of the most amazing people who have become family to SOTR.” Chef Cassidy added, “During the last year the challenges we have all faced is unfortunate, this shift is a new chapter, and I am looking forward to putting all of my focus in the kitchen and being able to continue to create a new platform for this industry.” Here are the details. I know everyone wants to participate in the party, so how about taking turns 15 to 30 minutes at a time. That way, no one is left out from the party. However, during that 15 to 30-minute duty, you should NOT be on your phone surfing through your social media accounts or going through your photo album.
