Iam a designer and also an inventor in Lima Peru, where I studied at the “Toulouse Lautrec” Institute. There, I specialized in Product Design. I love design and I believe that it is a fundamental part in the formation of a better world. I am dedicated to making people have a smile on their faces and I bring my culture to the world by working on an international magazine called “The Designer”, located in the city of Stockholm in Sweden. My vision led me to extend the magazine to the brother country of Colombia in Cali, weaving cultures, customs and art. In 2015 I obtained second place worldwide with the “Magic Sphere” which is a product designed to help children with their allergy processes. In 2016, I was a finalist in my country with “Tray Girax”, a rotating food SOFIA CALVO table for patients in hospitals and clinics. In 2017, I got the winning banner in my country with “No More Lives Lost”, a joint project with Yad Vashem, the holocaust and the United Nations outreach program. In 2018, I created a company called “Markkus Design Company”. In 2019, I carried out product design projects and workshops in prisons with inmates deprived of their liberty, raising awareness of the value of caring for the planet and creating products with recycled materials. In 2020, I participated in the international Kiwie 2020 contest, organized in Korea. In 2021, I obtained the silver medal in Kiwie 2020, bringing one more achievement to my country, having as satisfaction the recognition of the President of the Republic of Peru. my website: sophiecalvodesigner.com MAGAZINE 19

THE BABY GIRL Did the baby bud’s heavenly smile extirpate the past distances between her parent? Mridula felt, the baby is a glue to stick together the lost days of joy, which in past was apparent. A new triangular love emerged, as an elixir, in the sophisticated circumstance, Mridula marked the new born glory as life’s new acceptance. The rabbit smile and the tender footsteps, seems to bring the detached family closer, But it turned out that, for the upcoming situations, and consequences, it was another teaser. Female new borns are seen by relatives, as a sin, For them, the male domination always, seems to be a win Pathetic are those fantasy customs and traditions, It’s time they all change thoughts and create new reactions. Curses, words spoken with venom and filled with arrows of unhealthy customs, is still Mridula’s daily appetizer. When will a relief come to her in the form of a magical sarcasm sanitizer? A woman in a marriage, especially in an INDIAN LOVE orthodox family, in fact has no rights and on the TO BE A WOMAN IN INDIA day she gets married she becomes the property of her husband and his family, taking away her voice, she is expected to obey. Mridula’s story magnificently reflects the plight of women in India, but this does not mean that these women are weak, actually these women are very die hard and strong.
