• Liberalisasi perkhidmatan pelancongan oleh kerajaan Malaysia (April 2009) selaras dengan tumpuan terhadap sektor perkhidmatan sebagai sektor pertumbuhan baru dalam ekonomi yang melibatkan taman tema, pusat persidangan dan pameran, agensi pelancongan & pengembaraan, perkhidmatan hotel dan restoran, perkhidmatan makanan dan minuman di hotel 4 dan 5 bintang.

• Pelan Pembangunan Pelancongan Kuala Lumpur memberi fokus kepada membeli-belah, MICE, kebudayaan, hiburan, makan, kesihatan dan pendidikan. Kawasan-kawasan utama di dalam zon-zon strategik akan memfokuskan kepada aktiviti pelancongan yang lebih spesifik. – Bukit Jalil-Seputeh akan memfokuskan kepada sukan dan MICE; – Wangsa Maju-Maluri untuk pelancongan industri; – Damansara - Penchala untuk pendidikan dan agropelancongan, – Bandar Tun Razak-Sungai Besi untuk eko-pelancongan.• Perhotelan, Bakery & Pastri, Kulinari, Katering, Restaurant, MICE, Interpretasi Pelawat, Sukan dan Rekreasi

Pelan pembangunan pelancongan memberi tumpuan kepadaPelancongan pesisiran pantai (Coastal tourism), Pelanconganbandar Cherating (Cherating tourism town), Pelancongan eko &lombong bersejarah (Ecotourism & heritage mines),Pelanconganwarisan budaya ( Cultural Heritage tourism), Pelancongansempadan (Cross-border tourism), Pelancongan pulau lestari(sustainable island tourism). – Resort Management, Catering, Restoran, Kulinari, Interpretasi Pelawat, Rekreasi Marin dan Terresterial, Adventure

Pelan pembangunan pelancongan memberi tumpuankepada Pelancongan sempadan (Cross-bordertourism) – pintu masuk 60% pelancong asing kenegara ini , pelancongan bandar (urban tourism),pelancongan pendidikan (edutourism), pelanconganpulau (marine parks), pelancongan tapak warisan(Taman Negara Tanjong Piai. (RAMSAR) dan Ekopelancongan (Taman negara Endau Rompin). – Hotel/Resort Management, Catering, Restoran, Kulinari, Interpretasi Pelawat, Rekreasi Marin dan Terresterial, Adventure

One of the key messages of the NEM framework is to:-• leverage on our core strengths, one of which is our rich heritage of natural resources.• The largest contribution to Malaysia’s GDP is the services sector, of which the largest component is tourism.• The tourism sector relies heavily on our natural resources such as tropical rainforests and marine life as key attractions.• About 5% of the labour force earns their income from domestic and international tourism.• In addition, 12% of the population derive their income and livelihood from agriculture, forestry and fisheries which together generate 7.5% of GDP.

• Demand is high: competencies in ICT and creative technologies such as e-tourism; Tourism technology, Global Distribution System (GDS), internet marketing, social network.• Product/package based interpretation and education-giving experience and new knowledge to travellers such as visitor interpretation and tour guiding. Interpretation sold the Museum, Gallery, Garden animals, Garden State and all visitors centre.• Homestay product , education is based on community-based tourism, event management, performing arts and interpretation.

4. Coaching in the field of recreation land and marine-recreation management, recreational tourism, adventure tourism, marine recreation. Coaching Program professionally has not offered everywhere IPTA/s. Recreational Activities popular – snorkel, scuba, golf, swimming and lifesaving.5. Opportunities in the sector of event management, event management, conference planner, party/wedding planner, catering services, event facilities & management. Potential to MICE Management, Event Mgmts./& Conference planning/operation, Catering services, Wedding Management.6. Civil servants are health and wellness, traditional and complementary medicine – expertise in civil servants are spa, sequence, reflexology, acupuncture, Ayurveda and naturaphy/homeopathy and human services.
