We at DAV International School Kharghar follow the principle of 'Explore, Exercise and Achieve’, therefore we provide a platform to every child for experiential learning, group exploration and building projects with the use of available resources to achieve their individual goals. We promote active learning which focuses more on students than on teachers’ delivery of subject content. There is an active engagement of the student with the material and self learning which helps them emerge with improved critical thinking skills, increased retention and absorption of new information, increased motivation, better interpersonal skills, tremendous drive, quick problem solving abilities high inquisitiveness and passionate love for learning something new. Our teachers establish a classroom environment that is favorable for helping each student and work cooperatively in order to learn. Besides, an atmosphere of natural respect is also provided in the classroom where students feel relaxed in asking questions and expressing their thoughts and feelings. We inculcate respect for Indian culture and diversity in the students. We are indeed very grateful to our parents for their sincere involvement in the School. Without their single minded co-operation between the school and home, we cannot offer the holistic education towards which we are striving. Though we are in remote learning, the students have been enthusiastically participating in all co-scholastic activities and this E- Brochure is the window to a compilation of skillful activities. IN ACTION The all-powerful virus has managed to drive the country and the whole world into a complete lockdown, with an uncertain future and an unavoidable feeling of hopelessness. But at the end of the day, life is all about finding the silver lining to every cloud! The present scenario has made us, the teachers to step out of our conventional domains and adapt the new domain- shifting from the classroom in schools to virtual classrooms. It was a learning period for acquainting ourselves with the latest technological advancements, and embracing the pedagogical shift to online teaching. Online Learning or E-Learning is the newest and most popular form of distance education today. This particular technology oriented teaching has brought out advantages to both the teachers and students as it offers comfortable zones and environments, with no time constraint and a flexible schedule. DAV INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, KHARGHAR by adopting online teaching methods via the ZOOM App has enabled the Secondary Section Educators who are accustomed to face-to-face interactions to impart their teaching with much efficiency. With meticulous planning and meetings, teachers were enabled with online trainings, helping them get hands-on experience of a virtual classroom and become more confident The students were interested and happy in a situation where they had no access to traditional classrooms. This student-centered approach empowered the students to be active learners sitting at the comfort of their homes. Teachers of different subjects came up with innovative ideas to make their teaching more interesting by recording self-videos explaining the content wherever necessary, by offering relevant insights to chapters through various slides or with the help of power point presentations or by sharing videos links of experiments. Overall, the pandemic has brought in a new experience for the teachers, and has offered the students an opportunity to resume their lessons comfortably and effortlessly.
