Early Childhood Center Love Grows & Kindness Flows in our ECC... Showing love & kindness to others is the greatest key to a happier life and a core practice in our ECC! At TBJ, our students are creating Kindness Rock Gardens, exploring kindness through children’s literature, learning how to problem solve and resolve conflict, engaging in Tikkun Olam projects including weekly Tzedakah collections, and practicing Bucket-Filling daily! Bucket-Filling involves showing compassion and love to our friends; this practice guides children’s actions and behaviors in beautiful and positive ways. Being kind promotes a stronger sense of belonging and improved self-esteem. Even small acts of kindness create feelings of self-worth, a positive self-concept, and are proven to improve focus and attention. Children develop empathy and compassion by caring about one another. By showing our children that kindness is important to us, we inspire them to apply these values to their relationships and interactions with others. HOW CAN YOU FILL A BUCKET TODAY? 4 www.tbj.org/ecc

Rosalind & Alfred Lippman Gallery Yitzchok Moully is a conceptual artist whose work explores the intersection of spirituality and the material world we live in. Having grown up in Melbourne, Australia, with a few formative years in Hasidic Brooklyn, Moully brings together the disparate colorful worlds of his hippie upbringing and Hasidic culture, resulting in a unique palette of colors and ideas. Moully began with silkscreen and painting in his creative process but is careful not to be limited to any one medium, rather he is constantly seeking out new modes of expressions to convey his ideas. A Rabbi by training, Moully served as a Youth Rabbi in Basking Ridge, NJ, for ten years before embracing his creative spirit. Dubbed ever since The Pop Art Rabbi, Moully’s work distills ethereal Chassidic concepts into relatable works of art. This final point is integral, as central to his work is the viewer, or as Moully would like to see it, the collaborator. In many of Moully’s works the viewer is encouraged to interact with the work, to the point where the work is incomplete without the engagement. Perhaps all art can be viewed as a conversation between viewer and artist, but for Moully this is the essence of what he does. Lending his unique voice and personality to the common space of art and ideas, his ultimate goal is for that conversation to continue well beyond the piece of art and into the world around us. Linda Schulman is a mixed media artist that uses organic design, vibrant color, mark making and unusual textures to create beautiful visual images through a process of layers and collage. Each collage paper is painted individually which then comes together to create one large cohesive piece. Each piece is unique and embellished with drips, splashes, and subtle trans- parent layers to create depth and amazing detail. Many pieces are mounted on wooden panels which are then glazed with a beautiful glass like epoxy resin coat creating a brilliant finish and a magnificent shine. Linda’s inspiration comes from the world around her (especially nature) always focusing on pattern and texture. Her style is continually evolving as she experiments with new mediums to expand her artistic creativity. Linda lives in Northern New Jersey. Her work has been displayed in numerous exhibitions as well as juried art shows and have found their way into many private homes. Linda has been lucky enough to teach her creative techniques at various educational programs as well ongoing young adult workshops. Her artwork is presently displayed and sold at ATHun’s Art Gallery in Savannah Georgia. 17 www.tbj.org
