Resume Andrej Papeša born 1976. in Zagreb Croatia Construction worker 1994-1996 -My grandfather, father and my uncle are or were builders. I actually started to work in construction at the same time when my father started after he changed his profession late in life. Unloading trucks with cement, shovelling, digging ditches, pushing wheels with concrete, building a peer or what ever needed to be done working on some small residential projects. On the pictures under you can see old volkswagen that we had to work with and just one of many residential houses I have worked on in that time. Next decade I worked in hospitality industry where I had 5 promotions one after another while feeding my aspirations for design and construction. Bar server 1996-1997 -My quality to adapt quickly worked for me being for the first time away from home among some 600 people of 50 or more nationalities working at one moment on one place. I was 21 at a time. Bartender 1997-1998 -Working around the world, very early I discovered my affiliation, enthusiasm and passion for design and construction. So After my 10-12 hour shifts that at the time I worked as a bartender I spent a lot of time with a software that I purchased (picture on the right). Cruise staff 1998-1999 My personality was very appreciated among colleagues and that resulted in an accepted offer of that position to a non Japanese staff member for the first time in the history of that company. Sommelier 2000-2002 -Still working 10-12 hours a day on another job here my first design came to life. I made a plan for and sent it with money needed for building an apartment on the second floor of my parents house on the coast of Croatia which prior that was a bare concrete slab. After I came back home I completely furnished it (photos under). House has 7-8 separate units. People always praise this one. Head Sommelier 2002-2004 -After climbing the ladder this was my first management position where my can do attitude was noticed again. Starting to work in word and excel I implemented new inventory system with 0 discrepancy that was noticed even by our main office heads. That new system took 70% less time to complete each time it was conducted and had much smaller error margin. Continuously finding better ways of doing anything and everything by now was and is in my nature. Assistant restaurant manager 2004-2006 -Menu and service of two last restaurants that I have worked at (Normandie and Olympic) was designed and signed by Michel Roux. Michel Roux is a French Chef whose flagship restaurant Waterside Inn in Bray England became the only restaurant outside France to retain three (3) Michelin stars for 25 years in a row. I had 5 promotions in 7 years time with all of colleagues, under and above position wise, supporting and welcoming that. Here, among other things I significantly advanced with attention to detail that I apply and develop more to every aspect of any job I do today.

Construction and real estate manager (director) 2006-2013 -Upon becoming company director I soon implemented various and significant improvements in a company that was otherwise stagnating in changes for decade or two. In all segments of the company including bringing company to be the pioneer real estate agency in Europe with 360° walk-troughs on company website and designed and implemented totem commercial on a parking lot of our headquarters (pictures under). Built it myself. And that's before Goggle earth implemented that. Here I continued to forge my management skills that are transferable and value to any industry. I am a licensed real estate agent and trained in crowd management and safety management.

-This was a job where I brought 5000 m2 of raw unimproved land owned and held by disputing cousins, which had no urbanism plan and no road access to a state where you can build immediately after grant of a building license from the state. Meaning I have; 1. cleared the ownership 2. purchased the land 3. bulldozed the land and grind it flat for building 4. punched the road through and signed the contract with the municipality 5. separated lots for 7 houses building beautiful natural stone giardino walls 6. organized all, financed and brought urbanism plan on power in a very short time 7. made plans for all 7 stone villas with pools together with the licensed architect 8. kept cost of all that very, very, very low making 5000 m2 of unusable land to a land ready to build that is 5 minutes drive to the beach on the Adriatic coast where final calculated cost of the finished villas is more than competitive.

Computer aided design (CAD) studies 2013-2019 Archicad is a software tool for architects working in the architecture-engineering-construction (AEC) industry for designing buildings from the conceptual phase all through to the construction phase. I own a license, work in and know Archicad with many other software too. Archicad is a tool choice some of the best architects of our planet. Workstation table on the picture is designed from scratch, among two others custom made and so is the pc workstation. I choose parts and build my computers for the last 20 years as I was always big technology enthusiast. Doing architecture renders gives you the power to present the clients with photo realistic look of finished real estate using lights, day and or night as I did on redesign of my grandparents house on the renders under. Actually all the projects I did while studying and after are grounded in reality as they are taken from the real world whether as refurbishment projects or measures of the empty building lots.

-I have a vast experience working in Bars, Restaurants, Hotels, Clubs and other respectable establishments in the hospitality industry therefore I am able to design and build them from the grounds up with attention to the smallest detail. On the photo on the left we have one tavern for which I have while studying Archicad made a detailed redesign that is better in any and every aspect than current condition. My design today is not limited to single establishment as I have trained myself in a variety of more complex and bigger enterprises. (just few parts of examples are the renders under). All the projects here that you see are original projects made by yours truly and the best ones are not even here.

On the goggle map above are projects as the ones you just saw on previous pages that I have done as manager and director that are closest to our headquarters since working for Retrum d.o.o. in Murter Croatia. Retrum d.o.o. is the company that has biggest tradition and do biggest number of renovating old stone houses on this very tourist island. Doing refurbishments is essentially more complex than building from grounds up. -My travels so far include 60+ countries in the world. Currently I am based in Murter Croatia EU but I can relocate anywhere in EU in a matter of days. Among Excel and Word I know and use sea of different software for business. I am a manager with full work pipeline experience who knows and have done it. Plus…I look to improve anything and everything constantly so we get the product to be on top of the industry offer continually…to the smallest detail.
