What is ‘The CFO Junior’ Case Study Competition? ‘The CFO Junior’ is organised by The CharterQuest Institute South Africa -as a cadet version of The CharterQuest Global CFO Case Study Competition. It is a multi-stage accounting, business and leadership challenge open to High Schools across Africa. It seeks to challenge teenage learners to prove their leadership potential: by competing to solve a set of ‘common sense’ real-life business management problems -drawing from their knowledge of Accounting, Business Studies, Economics and Mathematics in the school curriculum; helping them to decisively make the crucial connection between classroom theory and real-world application. into a continental challenge. Whilst schools enter to expose their learners to career oppotunities in the fast-changing world of Accounting, Finance and Business; and to benchmark their quality -nationally and continentally; for the learners, it embeds early in their development, the attributes of logical and critical thinking as well as the research, public speaking, team collaboration, entrepreneurial, and problem-solving skills that are vital to their success at higher education and subsequent career journey. Above all, it builds their emotional intelligence as well as resillience and tenacity, to compete and thrive in a world of increasingly scarce recources, scarce scholarship opportunities, scarce job and promotion prospects, and ece business competition! It is Africa’s much-anticipated annual continental and global event, bringing together universities and high schools, young makers for one purpose: to inspire the next generation of CFOs & Global Business Leaders. Operated alongside its global version, the competition commences in November each year with entries by High Schools in South Africa and across the continent; it then enters Stage 1 in March and April of the following year, during which the teams (at their schools and home countries) are required to download, analyse and contest Stage 2 -The Public Votes (via TV and social media). These Top 6 are then invited on a fully-paid trip to professionals, CFOs and global business leaders -see back cover of this brochure). The Competition is broadcast on TV across Africa on DStv’s Mindset Network -Channel 319. As a TV brand, it has been dubbed ”the next ‘Idols’ in the education space!” Need More Info?: http://www.charterquest.co.za/page/thecfo-junior Grooming financially qualified business leaders E&OEs
