Introduction Every once in our life, we experience to be away from home. A bona fide girl scout is independent, can take care of herself, look out for others and enjoys the freedom of making her own decisions in life. These are the things that the Coun- cilwide Overnight Camp made us realize. This event gave our junior girl scouts the opportunity to do things independently, be a good example to others, hone skills that are necessary for everyday life and most of all, making meaningful memories not just with friends but also to different people. The twenty-one (21) TPES junior girls scouts truly exhibit- ed independence, camaraderie and enthusiasm in the Junior and Senior Councilwide Overnight Camp. They entered the camp as aspiring girls who seeks adventure and friendship and now, they exited as self-reliant individuals who brings out the best in what they do.
Junior girl scouts from the different schools of Pasay City Council joined in the Junior and Senior Councilwide Overnight Camp with excitement and vigor. Mrs. Daisy Gonatise, Master Teacher II, welcomed us in their beloved Apelo Cruz Elemen- tary School– this year’s overnight camp venue. A girl scout is self-reliant. TPES Junior Girl Scouts showed independence by setting up their tents and preparing essentials on their own.
This councilwide overnight camp will not be possible without these hardworking Titas led by Mrs. Mercury Gonzales– Commissioner on Training of Pasay City Council, Mrs. Nina Magbago, Mrs. Jennifer Blasco and Mrs. Joy Bobadilla. Before the program starts, TPES Junior Girl Scouts posed for a groufie with troop leaders Tita Luzviminda Pahuyo, Tita Jona Marie M. Manlongat and Tita Stephanie Claire Semilla. Mrs. Mercury Gonzales, Cluster Field Adviser of Cluster 3 and Commissioner on Training of Pasay City Council, is indeed a hands-on Tita to each junior and senior girl scout.
Tatak Paezeño! TPES junior girl scouts wowed the crowd with their unique and creative yell. Titas wore smiles on their faces as they watch these girls shine in the stage. A girl scout is disciplined. Margaret Kimberly Allayban showed superb leadership skills in guiding the oher scouts. In return, the remaining girl scouts exhibited cooperation at all times.
A campfire symbolizes sense of hope for mankind. Junior girl scouts savored this moment to reflect on their own contribution in the society as a girl scout. A girl scout is a friend to all and a sister to every other girl scout. After the campfire, TPES girl scouts patted each other’s back for a job well done during their campfire presentation. At 5:00 in the morning, the girl scouts prepared themselves for the scouts’own. This years’ scouts’ own is based on the theme Love.
Scouts’ Own A Scouts’ Own is a quiet type of ceremony that expresses the spirit of Girl Scouting.
Scouts and Titas danced through the music during the morning physical fitness program. Margaret Kimberly T. Allayban, a TPES girl scout, was invited to dance in front due to her graceful and energetic moves. Bracelets for sale… with a cause! Senior girl scouts not only showed creativity but also en- trepreneurship skills at such a young age.
Senior and junior girl scouts heartily shared their breakfast to each other. A set of fun games and activities awaits the girl scouts of Pasay City Council. Mrs. Fe P. Panganiban, a Teacher III of Timoteo Paez Elementary School, inculcated basic moves and terms used in Taekwondo.
A girl scout is disciplined. TPES junior girl scouts proved that they are fast learners as they exhibit basic Taekwondo moves with discipline and ease. After stretching their arms and legs for Taekwondo, the girls displayed their “artsy” side through collage making. Margaret Kimblerly T. Allayban, a TPES junior girl scout, was asked by the master of ceremony to flaunt her own version of “lava walk”.
Tita Marilou Landicho, an outstanding troop leader in Pasay City Council, boosted the self- confidence of each girl through the Crocodile Rope activity. Pasay City girl scouts learned the essential skils of first aid kit and bandaging through the supervision of Tita Sharon Sergio.
Giving of Awards and Certificates The TPES junior girl scouts bagged the first place in campfire presentation. They also landed in third place in the yell and song making competition, junior category. The girls are all-smiles for being recognized as the only troop winning two awards in this year’s overnight camp. Before the program ends, all the troop leaders from the Pasay City Council posed for a pic- ture as they received their certificates.
