SENIOR’S DAY OUT with FriendsIntroduction \"For all they have achieved throughout life and for all they continue to accomplish, weowe older citizens our thanks and a heartfelt salute.\" Ronald Reagan As provided in our Constitution, the state is duty-bound to recognize the rights of seniorcitizens by providing support though various social systems. Thus, senior citizens are grantedbenefits and privileges that range from 20% discount and VAT exemption to mandatory mem-bership in the government’s healthcare system. They are also granted several benefits and privi-leges under Republic Act No. 9994 and Republic Act No. 10645. In the education sector to emphasize the important role of senior teachers and its senioremployees, they are granted 1% from the total school MOOE to be used for varied senior activ-ities that will be beneficial to all seniors in the organization as mandated by law. The rationale isto motivate and encourage them that they are still valued as part of the state and in the na-tion building. In consonance to this law, Timoteo Paez Elementary School design a program for“Seniors Day Out with Friends “for the SY 2017-2018. The main objective is to experience a dayfilled with fun, enjoyment and relaxation intended for them. With the help of the coordinators,technical working group and senior friends, we were able to meet the objectives stated in theproject proposal. The activity held at Felys Garden Resort Tagaytay, last December 7, 2017. Everybodywere mesmerized with the beautiful sceneries of the place and enjoyed the cool climate. TheProgram Coordinator, Senior School coordinator drafted a short program to make the activitymeaningful and special for our seniors. It includes the Pre activity which we had the program,the Fun Activity with simple fun and games, the Enjoyment and Relaxation Activity includes theswimming time, videoke time, body massage time with trained therapist. All those simple yetenjoyable things make their SENIOR’s DAY OUT with Friends a remarkable experience.
