DEAN - WESCHOOL, BANGALORE CAMPUS Prof. Dr. Madhavi Prof. Dr. Madhavi Lokhande, a fellow member of The Institute of Lokhande Cost and Works Accountant of India and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Management Accountants (U.S), Dean - Bengaluru Campus holds a Master’s degree in Commerce as well as a Doctoral Degree from the SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai. The primary focus of her study was the Micro and Small Entrepreneurs in Bangalore. Her focal research interests include micro credit, funding needs of micro entrepreneurs, women-run micro enterprises and self-help groups. Prof. Unakal’s areas of expertise lies in Business Creation, Product Design, Development and Management. He has been accredited for designing numerous consumer products as an Industrial Designer and his research interests are in the areas of Design Thinking, Innovation, New Product Design and Development, New Opportunity Identification, Creativity, Strategic Design, Consumer Behaviour and Emotion, and Design Management. Prof. V. Mohan Chandra, a graduate in Industrial Design from NID, Prof. V. Mohan Ahmedabad as well as an MDes in Product Design from IIT-Bombay, Chandra is the Professor Emeritus at WeSchool, Bangalore. He has worked with Keltron, ER & DC, C-DAC, TCS and Aerospace Systems Ltd. in Professor Emeritus the roles of Product Designer, Head of Product Design and Head of Business Development, bringing with him thirty years of experience in the Electronics industry. During his tenure, he has developed Product Designs in Consumer Electronics, Computer and Communication Systems, Power Electronics, Medical Electronics, parallel processing super-computers and military type GPS navigation systems. His professional affiliations include SMIEEE (Sr. Member, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, USA), MIET (Member, Institute of Engineering and Technology, U.K) and MACM (Member, Association of Computing Machinery, USA). CORPORATE CONNECT - BENGALURU Human Resource Confluence on People Analytics Ethos - WeSchool | NHRD The Human Resource confluence on ‘People Analytics’ was organized by ‘Ethos’ the HR Club at WeSchool, Bangalore in collaboration with National Human Resource Development (NHRD), Bangalore Chapter. The aim of the confluence was to help and engage the audience to understand the concept of Human Resource Analytics in India, opportunities in the future for an HR Professional and deliberate on trends and its significance for the HR industry. Mr. Anil Jalali, Executive Director - HR, India Domestic and Area South, IBM, was the Chief Guest for the event. Before commencing with his address, Mr. Jalali expressed delight at the huge representation of student and expressed the importance of industry and academia platforms for the benefit of the community. In his address titled ‘People analytics as a Strategic Partner in the organization, Mr. Anil Jalali expressed that analytics is imperative for HR professionals. He cited an example where IBM had used analytics to solve the problem at the client’s end and enabled them to assess the workforce planning, reduce attrition and hire the right people. He briefly touched upon three types of people analytics used in the industry - operational, predictive and cognitive. He mentioned how analytics helps companies to predict people’s propensities to leave an company and which business segments are impacted. This event originated on the lines of popular TV shows like ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’ and ‘Koffee with Karan’, has eminent corporate celebrities who share their thoughts and opinions on a set of questions asked by a student host. The show begins with a brief introduction of the guest and the student host then rolls out the agenda of the day. The guest then takes the stage to speak on any management topic as per his/ her discretion. The guests are requested to keep the sessions as interactive as possible. This session is then follwed by a discussion with the student host. Video footage of a few colleagues of the guest (speaking on how the guest actually goes about executing his daily work, his style of leadership, etc) is also presented. There is also a fun-filled one minute rapid fire round, showcasing the lighter side of the guest. The event ends with the felicitation and feedback time on the guest-book. Finally, a video feedback of the guest and a small photo session ends the show formally. Constructive feedback and suggestions from the audience are collected for improving the show with each episode. 29
