Season 2016‐ 2017     Little Athletics Tasmania      Little Athletics Tasmania - 2017 Cross Country Little Athletics Tasmania run a winter cross  country season each year.     Competition  is  held  in  the  North  and  the  South  of  the  state on a fortnightly basis commencing early April each  year.  Age Groups and Distances for Cross Country events:  Under 6 800m  Under 7 800m  Under 8 1000m  Under 9 1500m  Under 10 1500m  Under 11 2000m  Under 12 2000m  Under 13, 14, 15 3000m   Uniform  Athletes must compete in Centre tops.  A jumper may be worn  if it is particularly cold.    Fees   $20 competition fee per athlete for the season (if already  registered with Little Athletics).     Athletes wishing to “try it out” can pay $3 for a single trial  (if they then return for a second week, the remaining $17  is payable).  Any athletes not registered with Little  Athletics would need to also pay a $20 registration fee.   There will be a $5.00 cost to enter the regional Country  Championships, and $5.00 to enter the State Cross  Country Championships (date to be confirmed). Athletes  must compete in three events to be eligible for  championships.    Championships  Regional  championships  are  held  in  August  in  the  North  and  the South, with State Cross Country Championships held each  September at Campbell Town.      Dates and Venues for 2017  Full details of the competition schedule and dates will be sent  to  all  members  early  in  2017,  and  posted  on  our  website  and  facebook page.  For  enquiries,  please  contact  the  Little  Athletics  Tasmania  office on 1300 888 713, email [email protected]         P age 66
