Image360 Advantage Program Robert Blackwell Image360 - Beaumont, TX Enterprising, accomplished and straightforward, one of our newest Image360 Franchise Owners, Robert Blackwell, is back to the well—doing what he does best this time partnering with a tried-and-true franchise system. We asked him for the low-down and about his high hopes. What’s your business background? I have a civil engineering degree and grew up in the industrial construction business. In the late ‘90s, I purchased a small independent business. Since 2000 I’ve bought small businesses in need of help, brought in capital, provided expertise, resurrected them, and created value. Then I’d either hire somebody to run the business or sell it. You purchased an independent sign business. The short version of a longer story is I sold one of my businesses and thought I was going to retire. And I was, until my wife ran out of patience with me being at home. I had to find another small business to invest in. In 2015, I found Hightech signs, a business that was struggling and for sale. Since then, I’ve been trying to build it in to something meaningful and profitable. Why Image360? Well, what I found in the sign industry is being independent is pretty tough with the rate of change in technology and marketing. It's just changing so fast; it’s very hard to keep up with. I was spending all of my time solving problems rather than out promoting and growing the business. So, I'm counting on Image360 with its Home-O ce support and the network of Franchise Owners to help me address any issues, which will allow me to get out of the business, and go out and meet with customers and grow this thing. You signed up for the Image360 Advantage Program. (Sorry for the long question, but) if independent printers wanted to improve operating e ciencies and increase earnings, what advice would you give them? Converting to Image360 through the Advantage Program was a good fit for me with what I want to do. The people are more than willing to answer any questions and do anything that you ask. It's a great asset to have: people who know the industry, have been in the industry, and have the ability to help solve your problems. What did you learn from the other Franchise Owners you spoke with during your due diligence? I spoke with several owners. One gentleman said the biggest advantage of the network was the phone number. He said before Image360, employees came to him with their problems. Now he tells them to just call the number. They can get their answers, and he can concentrate on growing the business. What will your role be in the business? Growing it all day, every day. Do you have a family? My wife and I have been married 34 years, no small accomplishment in this day and age. She’s a retired physician assistant. We have two children in college. Our daughter is engaged and in graduate school. Our son is an Aggie at Texas A&M University studying Nuclear Engineering. How do you spend your free time? I'm a big saltwater fisherman along the Gulf Coast. I’m a past president and have served on the board of Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas for 26 years. During training we’ll be working together to populate your site and we’ll give you the tools to manage your local pages going forward so you can feature unique projects, spotlight testimonials, and post write-ups about your team members. Locally should we use Social Media to attract business? Yes. Most of our Franchise Owners, and headquarters sta ers have LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter accounts. Our Marketing Team is proficient on all the most popular sites. They’re available to help you set up and maintain your social media programs. Besides Royalty and Ad Fund dollars, what else do I pay the franchise on a monthly basis? In the simplest form, the fees would be minimal and a list is outlined in the FDD Item 6.
