GES-162 TERM DESCRIPTIONS SFP It is a communication standard for telecommunication and data communication . It is optimized for long distance transmission. So, install a product with SFP terminal in a place where traffic load is heavy, connect the optical cable to the SFP terminal , Speed communication is possible. Fiber-based gigabit transport can be achieved using GBIC modules that support the SFP specification. • SFP Type Type Mode Wavelength Max Transmission Max Transmission Distance Speed SX Multi 850nm 550m LX Single 1310nm 10km 1.25Gbps EX Single 1310nm 40km ZX Single 1550nm 80km 2.5Gbps EZX Single 1550nm 120km • SFP Modules mini GBIC(SFP) Multi Type mini GBIC(SFP) Single Type Max transmission Distance 550m Max transmission Distance 10km LC type connector available LC type connector available • Optical Cable Type - Multi-mode : Wide range of cores to use multiple optical signals - Single-mode : The core is narrow and only one optical signal is used
Jumbo Frame The technique of increasing the size of the data frame transmitted at a time, which transmits the same data in a larger unit, thereby improving the transmission speed. The GES-162 switch automatically detects jumbo frames on Gigabit Ethernet and supports jumbo frames of up to 9KBytes, dramatically improving transmission speed. In order to use this function, you need to set Jumbo frame in both network device and PC card. • Capacity vs. Speed 8KB Normal 1.5KB 1.5KB 1.5KB Frame (1.5KB) - Normal Frame : You can transfer up to 1.5KBytes of capacity at a time. For example, when 8KB data is transmitted, it is transmitted over 6 times in units of 1.5KB. 8KB Jumbo 8KB Frame (9KB) - Jumbo Frame : You can transfer up to 9KBytes of capacity at a time. For example, 8KB data transfer is less than 9KB, so it is transmitted once. * 6 times faster than normal frame per unit time.
GES-162 TERM DESCRIPTIONS Link aggregation (LACP) It groups multiple physical ports into groups, logically recognizes them as a single port, increases bandwidth, and uses them for various failover purposes. The increased bandwidth does not mean the speed of the network is faster, but it does not slow down the bandwidth as much as the amount of simultaneous transmission, and distributes the load to make the device stable. To use this function, you need to set LACP for both network device and PC card. • LACP Con guration LACP 2000Mbps Bandwidth Connection LACP 4000Mbps Bandwidth Connection
Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) This is a technique to prevent loops that occur when there are multiple routing paths in a network environment consisting of switches. In order to prevent the loop phenomenon, STP is used to cut off some paths when the paths between the switches are circulated. In this case, the path that is used is restored to the path that was disconnected in case of failure, so that continuous communication is possible. This function can be used without setting. • STP not supported, loop status - Repeated broadcasts cause infinite network failures • STP applied, Loop canceled state - Loop prevention with logical disconnection and failover with automatic path switching
GES-162 TERM DESCRIPTIONS Ethernet It is the most typical bus structure LAN (Local Area Network). It is the network configuration method which occupies the vast majority in the short distance communication environment such as office, school and so on. LAN WAN The LAN is a local area network. The internal network and the intranet belong here and are configured through switches, NIC (Network Interface Card, LAN card), and UTP cable. A wide area network (WAN) is an external network, the Internet belongs here, and a router is added to the external network and the Internet configuration to lease the line to an ISP. Switch & Hub The hub acts as a simple repeater. Because it does not store the MAC address of the connected device, it sends out packets to all devices connected to the hub, wasting a lot of bandwidth. The switch stores the MAC address (MAC table) and transmits the signal only to the destination, so the bandwidth of the line can be fully used. In other words, the more nodes connected and the more important the performance, the more you must use the switch. L2 Switching based on MAC information performs switching functions such as Ethernet and Frame Relay, which are protocols of Layer 2 layer (Datalink).
Unmanaged Switch Unmanaged switches do not have an operating system and UI to control the device, so they faithfully perform the functions of the switch itself. Because it is low cost and does not require a separate setup process, it is advantageous that you can operate it simply by connecting through Plug & Play (PnP). The GES-162 switch can withstand the appropriate temperature, humidity and shock. It is suitable for industrial equipment which needs low power, low heat and low noise operation. Giga Bit The next version of 100Base-TX standard, 100Mbps, which has a speed of 1000Mbps or higher. Theoretically, you can get about 125MB of data per second at 10 times faster than a 100 Mbps network, but in fact, it is 3-5 times faster than the 100Mbps communication speed due to data processing and disk I / O. When configuring a Gigabit network environment, you can expect higher performance if you also configure Jumbo Frames. In order to use this function, both the network device and the PC card used must support Gigabit Ethernet.
APPLICATIONS (1) Factory Complex (Network Converter + GES-162) In order to operate the broadcasting system of the large - scale factory complex in a stable manner, the optical communication network was constructed through the SFP terminal of GES-162. The ring topology can be used to neutralize the optical network and to operate the broadcasting system reliably in case of emergency or communication problems. In order to control the detailed area within the factory complex, the GES-162 can be used as a network converter system to work with 6000 systems installed in each region. /$ /$ (&4 \"3.\" /$ (&4 (&4 /$ /$. 3. (2) School Campus (Network Converter + GES-162) Elementary School Using the existing school network, elementary schools Kindergarden can deliver their own broadcasts to Kindergarten, which is an attached building. To apply various network converters, GES-162 can be connected to the school's computer network and broadcasts such as guiding messages and BGM can be transmitted from the existing 6000 system to the kindergarten own broadcasting system. APPLICATIONS (3) Performance Hall Sound System (Dante™+GES-162) If you are transferring audio to the Dante™ network when you build a venue, you can transfer multi-channel high-quality audio over a single UTP instead of wiring conventional complex audio cables. In addition, when events such as performances and speeches occur in the main hall, you can configure the optical network with GES-162 to play audio in real-time in a remote annex.
(4) CCTV Broadcasting System If CCTV is used to manage outlying areas, the GES-162 can send and receive video and broadcasting systems for integrated management. The images transmitted by the IP camera are managed through the control room, and the 6000 system can transmit the self-broadcasting of each region for guidance / emergency broadcasting. Even when there is a problem in communication such as an emergency situation in a large remote area, the optical network is duplicated with the ring topology configuration provided by GES-162 in order to operate a stable broadcasting system.
