DEVA LEGION HOG CHAPTER CHESTER, ENGLAND, UK In the first century A.D. the Romans built a marching camp and later a fort at the mouth of the Deva Fluvius (River Dee). A civilian settlement grew around the fort creating the city of Deva, and the garrison based in the growing city was the Deva Legion – hence the chapter name. Continuing the Roman theme, the Deva Legion rally was named Circus Maximus after the ancient Roman chariot-racing stadium and mass entertainment venue located in Rome, Italy - the first and largest stadium in ancient Rome and its later Empire. Which leads us to our rally – Circus Maximus. Not quite chariot racing, but certainly great entertainment!. Our club, although based in Chester, England has around half of its members in North Wales. Circus Maximus is sub-titled - The Rally In The Valley - as it is located in the beautiful Dee valley in Llangollen, the home of the International Eisteddfod. Sponsored by Chester Harley-Davidson, we were established in January 2001 with a first year membership of 108. Our club now boasts almost 200 members and with the support of our sponsoring dealership our membership numbers continue to grow. We pride ourselves on having a friendly, welcoming group of members from a wide range of backgrounds but all sharing a love of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

From the Editor’s (messy) Desk First of all, I need to apologize to Jimmie Martin for misspelling his name in the previous issue. The lovely and talented Tiffany Mueller, the “Lady Behind the Lens”, graces this month’s cover. Tiff is responsible for practically all of the photos used in all of our chapter’s media offerings. It was time for her to have her place in the spotlight. The first installment of “HOG Around The World” highlights the Deva Legion HOG chapter from Chester, England.
