Several schools were also visited in the late summer, with each school visiting their local river twice to learn about the invertebrates and fish living there. Further educational material was prepared and matched up with both the Scottish and English education curriculums. Discussions around how to renovate the education room so that it ties into the Foundation’s education programme were also started. In conjunction with the RTC, the monthly newsletter – “the River” – was continued throughout 2020 and has been delivered largely in electronic format due to COVID restrictions. The development of a new, joint website for the RTC and the Foundation was also continued. Salmon Cast We have received an unexpected, but most welcome donation of a Salmon cast of a 32lbs Salmon caught in the Junction Pool in 1990 by Tony Green, the first Director of The Tweed Foundation. The cast will take pride of place in our visitor room at the Tweed Foundation’s offices. 50 www.tweedfoundation.org.uk
