Placements may involve the candidate as much in observing aspects of a workplace as in participating in specific activities or procedures. The unit is integrated with Preparing to Work. The focus of the Unit is on transferable skills: • carrying out an activity and/or activities co-operatively with others • reviewing co-operative contribution These skills should be useful to learners in their education, in their social and personal lives, or in current and future jobs. 5

NC4 ESOL for Employability Edinburgh College 2020/2021 Assisting with An Event The Unit will help with assisting in the F5FJ 10 arranging and implementation of an event. The tasks will include the Money Management identification of an event, the tasks FC63 04 associated with the organisation of the event and the review and evaluation of the event. This Unit focuses on managing your money. It will help you to prepare to deal with bills and budgeting. You will look at costs involved with borrowing money. You will consider insurance and long term financial planning. You will look at different ways of buying goods and how to compare different deals. The skills you will gain in this Unit should make you better prepared to deal with everyday financial encounters. You will: • Investigate costs and calculate bills • Identify, describe and calculate different forms of borrowing • Identify features, and calculate costs, of insurance and long term financial • Planning • Prepare for buying and spending 6
