The Canadian Citizenship Test is one of the most stressful requirements that have to be met if you want to be naturalized as a Canadian citizen. But it needn’t be intimidating. Here are some tips on getting through this process. First, remember the test is not designed to catch you out. It simply assesses your understanding and general knowledge about Canadian life, history, system of government and legal process. That means there are no trick questions. However, don’t underestimate the importance of the test. Our second tip, therefore, is to dedicate enough time to learn the knowledge you need to know before you sit your test. Thirdly, ensure you’re studying the right material: you need the latest copy of the official guide “Discover Canada (The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship”). Other sources of information may be outdated or inaccurate. Lastly, look for a reliable citizenship practice test. Familiarizing yourself with the format and types of questions you will face on the day is sure to increase your confidence and chances of passing. If you study adequately; develop an understanding of how Canada works; and practice well, you’ll sail through your Canadian Citizenship Test.
