Give it a go… Try the following example to get you started and then have a go at writing your own script. • Imagine yourself doing the dreaded deed - the exam. • Close your eyes and run through the entire exam situation. • Watch the exam unravel as if on a screen. • Imagine yourself stepping into the screen, with a sense of calm and composure. • Imagine arriving early, with everything all ready and feeling prepared. • You walk to the desk and you feel good. • Imagine you are listening to the silence, the rustle of papers turning, the scuffing of chairs, the ticking of the clock. • Imagine you can smell the room and feel the air around you. • All the while imagine yourself coping well and without anxiety. 49
