The Bible Basics4. Work in Cooperation With the Holy Spirit During This Process The last and final part to really being able to get this sanctification processstarted in your life is your willingness and eagerness to work very closelywith the Holy Spirit once He starts to move in on you and let you knowexactly what it is He wants to do. The apostle Paul says that God wants to sanctify you completely, body, soul, and spirit. Do not be surprised if one of the things that the Holy Spiritwill move in on is any particular vices you may have that could be harmingyour physical body. Good examples of this would be smoking cigarettes, smoking pot, abusing alcohol, and overeating on the wrong kinds of foods. Many Christians are addicted to smoking cigarettes. we have seen Godmove on quite a few of them on this particular vice. Some of them have beensuccessful in kicking the habit, and others have not. The power of the HolySpirit is there to help break this addiction off you, but you have to reallywant to have this vice removed before God will move in to break thisaddiction off you. Some people really do not want to give this up for the Lord. When thathappens, God will respect your free will on the matter and back off. However, we have seen Him come back in waves on that person, and everyso often He keeps coming back and knocking on their doors, letting themknow once more that He would really like to have this addiction removedfrom their lifestyle. The same goes for those Christians who still like to smoke their pot. wehave discovered there is some slack with the Lord on the cigarette thing, butthere is much less slack with Him on the pot issue! Every Christian who wehave known that has smoked pot, and then really came into a full surrenderwith the Lord, have all had the pot taken out of their lives very quickly. God will be letting you know very early on which of these vices He wouldlike to have removed from your personality and lifestyle. His divine power isthere to help break these addictions off your back, but you will have to bethe one to make this personal decision for yourself as to whether or not youwill work in cooperation with the Holy Spirit to take these addictions out ofyour life for good. We have seen God break many of these types of addictions off people andthey did not have to go through any type of physical withdrawal during theweaning off process. God, through the power of the Holy Spirit operating onthe inside of you, has the full power to be able to set you completely freefrom any vices or addictions you may have. There is nothing that the power 246

The Bible Basicsof God cannot totally defeat and overcome if you are willing to allow God towork with you in these areas. Other areas of your life that God may want to move in on are some of yourattitudes. If you are holding any unforgiveness towards others for things theymay have done to you in your past, expect God to move in very strongly totry and get you to forgive these people and to let all of the wrongs they mayhave ever done to you into His hands. Vengeance and payback in this lifebelong to the Lord, not to you or anyone else! God will be righting all thewrongs ever done to you in this life. Your job is to forgive all of those whohave ever hurt or wronged you and get on with the rest of your life. If you are operating in any type of a judgmental, critical, controlling, ormanipulating spirit, expect the Lord to deal very heavily with you on theseissues. These kinds of attitudes and behaviors are poisonous and toxic to allof those who come in contact with them. They are all unacceptable in theeyes of God, and the Holy Spirit will be moving very strongly on you withconviction and insight to tackle these kinds of attitudes and behaviors. God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will be letting you know veryclearly what good, positive, and godly qualities He will want to try and “puton” into your personality, and what negative qualities and vices He willwant to try and “put away.” Once all of this knowledge and information hasbeen given to you by the Lord, then it will be up to you as to whether or notyou will want to work in cooperation with the Holy Spirit to get all of thisaccomplished. If you are willing to work with the Lord in the specific areas that He willtarget, then the Holy Spirit will start to do the miraculous and supernaturalwork of removing all of the bad things that He will not want operating inyour personality and life, and then impart all of the positive and godly thingsthat He will want to have operating in your personality and life. And oncethis starts to happen, God the Father will then start to transmit and impartpart of His divine nature and personality right up into your mind, soul, andspirit. God’s love, joy, peace, patience, boldness, goodness, gentleness, andkindness will all start to move up and mesh into your personality, therebyincreasing your ability to be able to walk, live, and operate in these saintlyand godly qualities. When this starts to happen, you will have officially entered into a true, progressive, sanctified state, where the very life of God Himself will now be flowing through you and out of you so that you can reach 247

The Bible Basics others with His message of eternal salvation, and His message on how to properly live this life the way He wants His people to live it. God wants us to become fishers of men for Him. You can become a much better fisherman, representative, and ambassador for the Lord if you are willing to allow Him to lead you into this sanctification process. Nothing will draw others to the Lord more than a Spirit filled, anointed, and truly sanctified saint who has the fruits and qualities of the Holy Spirit operating through their personality. This sanctification process is available to every single born again believer. However, it is up to each and every Christian to make this personal decisionfor themselves. This is something that the Lord will not force on anyone dueto the individual cooperation that is needed from each person to really getthis process started. 248

The Bible BasicsChapter 21Healing Verses of the Bible As a result of the curse of Adam and Eve that is still in full operation onthis earth, disease, sickness, and illness are still part of the big picture thatwe all have to put up with. As we all know, anyone of us at anytime can getsick. We all know the different things that can happen to our bodies that cancause them to breakdown, and in some cases, seriously disable us. Just aboutany part of the human body can get hit with some type of cancer, and insome of these cases, these cancers can be terminal. However, as Christians, we have an all powerful God who not only hasthe power to fully heal us from any specific ailment that may strike us, butthat He actually does want to heal us many of the time if we properlyapproach Him in our prayers. God is trying to transmit to us on being able to receive a full divinehealing from Him when we will really need one. We will give you 93 of thebest verses from the Bible pertaining to being able to receive a divinehealing from God the Father. Not only can God heal us, but many of thetimes He will actually want to heal us.1. Our God is a Merciful God The very first thing you will really have to grasp is how good and mercifulGod and Jesus really are. Every time God decides to heal someone, He isshowing incredible mercy, love, goodness, and compassion towards thatperson. So the first thing you will need to grasp from Scripture are thespecific verses that will show us how merciful, kind, and compassionate Godthe Father really is. You have to realize that God the Father does have these attributes in Hispersonality. If you do not believe that God the Father is a good, merciful, loving, kind, and compassionate God, then you may not be able to receive adivine healing from Him because you will not have enough faith and beliefin His ability to even want to heal you in the first place. 249

The Bible Basics Many people are scared to death of God the Father. They know that Hedoes have a judgment and wrath side to His personality and they havebecome too scared to approach Him to enter into any kind of close personalrelationship with Him. And then when they do get sick and need a divinehealing from Him, they are too scared to try and approach Him for theirhealing. So the first thing each Christian must really grab a hold of if they want totry and press in for a divine healing is that God the Father really does have avery loving and tender side to His personality, and that many of the time Heactually does want to heal us and help deliver us out of any adverse situationthat we may have just fallen into. And any kind of disease, illness, orsickness is definitely an adverse situation. Study these 7 verses very, very carefully. When you read one verse afterthe other, you will really see how loving, kind, good, merciful, andcompassionate God the Father really is, and as such, that He does have anatural desire in His personality to want to help His children out if they needany kind of help or deliverance from Him. 1. “But You are God, ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abundant in kindness” (Nehemiah 9:17) 2. “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.” (Psalm 103:8) 3. “But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.” (Psalm 86:15) 4. “Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness” (Joel 2:13) 5. “The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.” (Psalm 145:8) 6. “The Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting” (Psalm 100:5) 7. “For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him, But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him.” (Psalm 103:11,17) The words “mercy or merciful“ are stated in every one of these Scriptureverses. Every time God decides to heal someone, He is showing incredible 250

The Bible Basicsmercy towards that person. Not only is God merciful, but that He is“abundant in mercy.“ He is full of mercy and goodness. For those of you who are too afraid to approach God for any type ofmeaningful personal relationship, notice several of these verses state thatGod the Father is “slow to anger.” God has a long fuse. God does not blowas easily and quickly as some of us will do. It really does take quite a bit tocause Him to lose His temper. You have absolutely nothing to fear inapproaching God to enter into a close, loving, personal relationship withHim. God is your perfect loving Father and He has nothing but your bestinterests at heart. If you have been struck with any kind of illness or disease,do not be afraid to approach Him for a divine healing. You may bepleasantly surprised with what He might just do for you.2. God the Father Does Have the Power to Heal You Sometimes when someone has been hit by an extreme sickness or disease, especially with one that may be considered terminal, our faith levels may beseverely shaken, possibly to their core! Nothing, we repeat nothing, is too impossible for God to be able tohandle. These 3 verses should be burned into your memory banks so you canhave them fully loaded up into your mind and spirit if you are ever facedwith what appears to be insurmountable odds. 1. “For with God nothing will be impossible.” (Luke 1:37) 2. But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27) 3. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (Ephesians 3:20) If you cannot get any kind of a healing from a doctor, then God Himselfcan come to your rescue and fully heal you, no matter how bad and hopelessthe situation may appear to you in the natural. God the Father has the full power and full ability to accomplish anythingthat He will want to do. If He has the full, divine, supernatural power tocreate our entire world in 6 days, then He will not have any problems inbeing able to fully heal you with whatever sickness or disease may have juststruck your body. 251

The Bible Basics3. God the Father Does Want to Heal You Not only does God the Father have the personality attributes to want toheal us, but He also has the full divine power to actually be able to heal us,no matter how severe the sickness or illness may be. However, will Heactually do it if you properly approach Him in your prayers? Not only does God actually want to heal us, but He can and will heal us ifcertain conditions are met. Not only does the Bible give us knowledge andinformation on the personality attributes of God and Jesus, but it also showsus how many times in the past God and Jesus have actually healed otherpeople. Once you read how many times God and Jesus were healing other peopleback in both the Old and New Testaments, then this will help build up yourown faith and belief that just maybe God and Jesus can also do the exactsame thing for you. God the Father is no respecter of persons, which means He loves each person He has ever created equally and unconditionally. If both God and Jesus were healing people back in both the OT and NT, then there is no reason we cannot approach Him for our own personal healing when we may need one in this day and age. These specific verses are all showing how God the Father can heal Hisown if they are walking in good stead with Him.1. God the Father does not change, ever! God the Father is the same today asHe was yesterday, and that He will be the same for all of eternity. This iswhy God the Father is totally dependable. If God the Father is the same today as He was yesterday, and if He was healing people back in the past in the Old Testament days, then this means that He can and will continue to heal today. This is why divine healing is still for everyone in this day and age. The gift of healing did not stop after the first set of apostles left the scene. Here is the verse: ● “For I am the Lord, I do not change” (Malachi 3:6)2. God the Father was healing His own chosen people back in the OldTestament. If God the Father has not changed, and if He was healing Hisown chosen people back in the Old Testament, then this means He can andwill continue to heal His own chosen people in the New Testament, whichare all saved and born again Christians! 252

The Bible Basics If we belong to Jesus, then we are all part of “Abraham’s seed,” and weare thus all “heirs” to the same blessings that God the Father was giving theJewish people back in the Old Testament. And one of those blessings wasdivine healing whenever they would need it. These 15 verses will show you how active God the Father really was inthe area of divine healing when the Jewish people were walking right withHim. 1. “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” (Galatians 3:29) 2. “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26) 3. “And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you.” (Deuteronomy 7:15) 4. “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.” (Exodus 23:25) 5. “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” (Psalm 107:20) 6. “He also brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none feeble among His tribes.” (Psalm 105:37) 7. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases” (Psalm 103:2) 8. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken.” (Psalm 34:19) 9. “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,” says the Lord. (Jeremiah 30:17) 253

The Bible Basics 10. “O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You have healed me.” (Psalm 30:2) 11. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds, Great is our Lord, and mighty in power” (Psalm 147:3) 12. “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19) 13. “But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” (Psalm 34:10) 14. “For the Lord is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” (Psalm 84:11) 15. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) All of the above verses are definitely showing us how active God theFather really was in taking care of the Jewish people back in the OldTestament. Notice some of the specific wording: 1. Put none of these diseases on you 2. Take away from you all sickness 3. Sent His word and healed them 4. There was none feeble among His tribes 5. Heals all your diseases 6. Guards all his bones, not one of them is broken 7. Restore health to you and heal you of your wounds 8. Heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds In three of these verses God is giving perfect health to all of them whenHe specifically says that “none“ of the diseases shall fall on them, that therewas “none feeble among the tribes,” and that He would take away “all”sickness from within their midst! If God the Father did this for the Jewish people back in the Old Testament, and we have a new and better covenant through His Son Jesus Christ in the New Testament, then we all should have access to the same blessings that the Jewish people had, and one of those 254

The Bible Basics blessings was having divine health and divine healing when it was really needed from Him!4. Jesus Christ Does Want to Heal You If all of the above verses are showing us that it was the will of God theFather to want to heal His chosen people back in the Old Testament, then thenext set of 11 verses will be showing us that it was also the will of JesusChrist to heal when He was walking in the New Testament. If God the Father was constantly healing His people back in the OldTestament when they were walking right with Him, then it should come asno surprise that His Son Jesus will be wanting to do the exact same thing asHe was walking among us in the New Testament. And that is exactly whatyou will find. Jesus was constantly healing people that came to Him,especially when they came to Him with enough faith and belief that He couldactually heal them. Here are 11 key Scripture verses showing how active Jesus really was inthe area of divine healing when He was walking with the full power of Godfor about three and half years. He is as same today as He was yesterday. If Jesus had a desire to healwhen He was walking on our earth 2000 years ago, then He will still havethat same desire to want to heal anyone in this day and age! 1. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) 2. Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:14,18) 3. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts 10:38) 4. “But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there; and great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.” (Matthew 12:15) 255

The Bible Basics 5. “And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.” (Matthew 14:14) 6. “Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.” (Luke 5:17) 7. “And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent out into all that surrounding region, brought to Him all who were sick, and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well.” (Matthew 14:35) 8. “Who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases, as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed. And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.” (Luke 6:17) 9. “But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.” (Luke 9:11) 10. “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick.” (Matthew 8:16) 11. “Now Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of diseases among the people.” (Matthew 4:23) If you study very closely what God the Father did with the Jewish peopleback in the Old Testament, and what Jesus did with all those around Him inthe New Testament, there was a definite pattern to Their ministries. And oneof the blessings that both God and Jesus would manifest on a very regularand frequent basis was the gift of healing!5. God Will Also Anoint You With His Power to Heal Not only does God the Father want to heal you, not only does His Son 256

The Bible BasicsJesus Christ want to heal you, but now God wants to take it one step further. He now wants to anoint His believers with His supernatural power to be ableto heal others. Do you get the big picture on all of this? If God is wanting to anoint Hisbelievers with His supernatural power to be able to heal others, then this istelling us that God is now placing the gift of healing as a major blessingwithin His Body so we can have it available to us when we may need it. The reason for this is because God wants to anoint and empower Hispeople to be able to go to work for Him in preaching the gospel to the rest ofthe world and doing what He wants them to be doing in their specific callsfor Him. You cannot work for God full force in this life if you are constantlybattling one ailment after another. You have to be operating in some kind ofgood physical health in order to be able to max out in your specific calls andduties for the Lord. Since we all live in a cursed and fallen world as a result of the curse ofAdam and Eve, anyone of us can get sick at anytime. God has to have thegifts of healing operating within His Body so as to help get us back up andrunning if we do get hit with any kind of sickness or disease. Sometimes God will choose to heal you through the doctors and medicalprofession, but other times He will choose to heal you direct Himself orthrough the prayers of other anointed believers. Now here are 11 specific verses that will show you that God really doeswant to anoint His Body with His supernatural power to be able to healothers. 1. And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:15) 2. “Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.” (Luke 9:1) 3. “And He called the twelve to Him, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits, 257

The Bible Basics And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.” (Mark 6:7,13)4. “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.” (Matthew 10:1)5. “But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:6)6. “Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.” (Acts 19:11)7. “And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid hands on him and healed him.” (Acts 28:8)8. “And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.” (Acts 8:6)9. “Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.” (Acts 14:3)10. “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19)11. “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 258

The Bible Basics For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.” (1 Corinthians 12:4) The last verse is the one telling us about the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit thatare still available to the Church today. And one of those 9 gifts is the gift ofhealing! This means that the Holy Spirit Himself can manifest the power toheal someone through any believer at anytime He will want to do so. Not only can God heal, not only does He want to heal, but many of thetimes He actually will heal if He is properly approached. So how do youproperly approach God for your healing? Through prayer.6. The Power of Prayer It is quite obvious that God the Father has the full divine power to fullyheal you of any disease or sickness that could strike your body. So how doyou get God to release His healing power directly to you to either healyourself or someone else you may be praying for? By direct prayer to God the Father. And sometimes that prayer has to be aprevailing type of prayer, which means that you keep praying to God untilyou get the healing to fully manifest onto the affected part of the body thatwill need the healing. There are many different types of prayer strategies that you can take withthe Lord in your own personal prayers to Him. Sometimes we have to praydirect to God the Father for a full healing to manifest. The first 3 verses are specifically telling us to “pray” to God when we aresick and need a healing. 1. “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray.” (James 5:13) 2. “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the 259

The Bible Basics sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” (James 5:14) 3. “And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid his hands on him and healed him.” (Acts 28:8) 4. “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” (James 5:16) 5. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) 6. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7) 7. “Yet you do not have because you do not ask.” (James 4:2) 8. “And there is no one who calls on Your name, who stirs himself up to take hold of You” (Isaiah 64:7) 9. “So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” (Ezekiel 22:30) 10. “He saw that there was no man, and wondered there was no intercessor; therefore His own arm brought salvation for him” (Isaiah 59:16) 11. “Therefore He said that He would destroy them, had not Moses His chosen one stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath, lest He destroy them.” (Psalm 106:23) God is actually looking for intercessors who are willing to stand in the gapfor other people who are needing God’s help in some way! And in some ofthese situations, these people have become sick and are needing a physicalhealing from the Lord. As an intercessor, you can actually stand in the gapfor these people and pray to God for their healing. We will be doing a much more detailed bible basic on the power ofintercessory prayer and how powerful of a weapon it really is in the handsof someone who knows how to do this with God the Father. Many majormiracles can be brought down from heaven with this kind of prevailingintercessory prayer. 260

The Bible Basics7. Having Faith and Belief That God Can Actually Heal You Sometimes God will move to heal someone who has very low levels offaith in Him, but there will be other times that He will want this person tohave his faith levels built up a bit before He will move in with His healingpower. There was many a time that Jesus would ask the person He was wanting toheal whether or not that person had enough faith and belief in Him that Hecould actually heal them. Once that person said he had enough faith in Jesusthat He could actually heal him, then Jesus would move in to heal him. Jesus would then go as far as to tell this person that his faith was what gothim healed! However, it was quite obvious that what got this person healedwas the power of the Holy Spirit operating and manifesting through Jesus. However, what got the healing power from the Holy Spirit to manifest ontothat person was the person’s faith and belief that Jesus could actually do thisfor him. This is how powerful of a thing it really is if you can get your faithoperating at higher levels with the Lord. If your faith is operating at thesehigher levels with the Lord, then God can manifest bigger and greatermiracles either to you or through you to help someone else out. If you are looking for God’s divine healing power to fully heal you orsomeone else you may know, the first thing you will need to try and do is toget your personal faith levels built up to a little bit of a higher range. Andhow do you do this? Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Hearing the Word of Godmeans you are reading the Bible for yourself and believing what you arereading. If you are willing to do this, then the Holy Spirit will start to raiseyour faith to a higher level. And once your faith has been raised to thathigher level, then God may move in to heal you or someone else you may bepraying for. You will need to read all of the verses pertaining to divine healing in theBible. This bible basic is giving you many of these verses. Really meditateand chew on these verses. Let them sink and settle down into your mind andspirit. Believe what you are reading. Once these verses have really settled into your mind and spirit, and youare truly believing what they are telling you, then go into major prevailingprayer with the Lord to try and get Him to move in with His healing power.Quote these Scripture verses back to Him. Tell Him that you are standing on 261

The Bible Basicsthe full power and authority of these verses. Tell Him that you have full faithand belief in what these verses are telling you. Tell God that you are going to take a hold of Him and that you will not letHim go until He either heals you or someone else you may be praying for. Study these next 18 verses very carefully. You are being given a majorprayer secret from the Lord on how to get Him to move in with His healingpower, and that secret is being able to get your faith operating at a little bitof a higher level to believe that God can really heal you. 1. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) 2. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17) 3. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6) 4. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith.” (1 John 5:4) 5. “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life” (1 Timothy 6:12) 6. “The blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” And their eyes were opened. (Matthew 9:28) 7. “Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (Matthew 15:28) 8. “For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” (Matthew 9:21) 9. “Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour. (Matthew 8:13) 262

The Bible Basics 10. “And Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight, (Mark 10:51) 11. “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:24) 12. “And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.” (Acts 6:8) 13. “And the prophets; who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.” (Hebrews 11:32) 14. “My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouth, so that they have not hurt me, So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because He believed in his God.” (Daniel 6:22) 15. “And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.” (Acts 3:16) 16. “But the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter that rest” (Hebrews 4:2) 17. “So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.” (Hebrews 3:19) 18. “And He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” (Matthew 13:58) God could not do any major miracles or any mighty works with certainpeoples or in certain areas due to the low levels of faith and belief operatingin those areas. The verse from Hebrews 4:2 tells us that we have to mix our faith withthe Word. We have to believe what we are reading from the Bible and that 263

The Bible Basicsall of it is true. You have to mix your faith with the knowledge that the Wordis giving you! If you do not, then the knowledge that the Bible is trying togive you will not work when you will need it for a real life emergency. The verse from Hebrews 3:19 is talking about all of the Israelites 20years and older who died out in the wilderness in the story of Moses. Theywere not able to enter into the Promised Land, all because they did not haveenough faith and belief in God that He could actually defeat the enemies thatwere possessing the lands in which He was wanting to give to them. The last verse from Matthew 13:58 is talking about Jesus not being ableto do many miracles in His own home town, and all due to the lack of faithand belief from the people that He actually grew up with! All of the above verses are showing us the extreme importance of beingable to get our faith operating at higher levels with the Lord, so He can thendo greater and mightier things either for you, or sometimes through you tohelp someone else out who may need His supernatural help and power to setthem free!8. Hindrances to Receiving a Healing Sometimes God will not move to heal someone due to some type of blockor hindrance. Once this person finds out what that block or hindrance is andgets it properly removed, then many of the time God will move back in tofully heal them. The following verses will give you some major insight into what some ofthese hindrances and blocks can be. Study these verses very carefully andmake sure you do not have any of these possible hindrances beforeapproaching God for your own personal healing. If you do have any of theseblocks or hindrances operating in your life, then you will be wasting bothyour time and God’s time if you start praying for a healing before that blockis properly removed.1. The first block, and this is a major one, is the sin of unforgiveness. Godthe Father will not even begin to hear any of your own personal prayers ifyou are holding any kind of unforgiveness towards anyone. And if God willnot hear any of your own personal prayers, then you will have little or nochance of getting any type of divine healing from Him. This particular sin is one that God really does not like. The fact that He specifically isolates this sin in reference to your personal prayer life in the following Scripture verse is showing you the extreme importance of it, and that He does not want you holding any type of 264

The Bible Basics unforgiveness towards anyone else, no matter how bad anyone else may have ever hurt or wronged you in your past. We have read testimony after testimony from people who walk with God’shealing power as part of their anointing, that many of the times God will notheal someone who is holding any kind of unforgiveness towards anyone else.Once that unforgiveness has been properly taken care of and removed, thenGod will move in to heal that person. If you are operating in this specific sin and are holding any type of seriousgrudges or unforgiveness towards anyone else, then you will need to gobefore God the Father, confess this sin out, and then tell Him that you willnow fully forgive all of the specific people who have ever wronged you inyour past. Tell Him that even though you may not “feel” like you are forgiving thesepeople within your own mind and emotions, tell Him that you are now takinga bold step of faith and that you will now make this confession with yourmouth, out of your mind, and that you will do your best not to hold the pastagainst these people. If you are willing to take this kind of powerful stand with the Lord, thenover the course of time God will start to take out the negative emotions ofthat unforgiveness, and pretty soon you will no longer even feel thisunforgiveness towards that person like you had in the past. God will do innerspiritual surgery on the inside of you to remove all of those negativefeelings. Here is the verse: ● “AND WHENEVER YOU STAND PRAYING, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” (Mark 11:25) If God will not forgive your own trespasses if you are operating in this sinwhen you are trying to pray to Him, then we also believe that He may notanswer any of your prayers when you are trying to pray for somethingspecific. The four key words in the above verse is “whenever you standpraying.”2. These next 6 verses will follow up very nicely to the above verse onunforgiveness. If you have any kind of “iniquities” that you may beoperating in, then this will cause God the Father to hide His face from you 265

The Bible Basicsand that He will then not “hear” you when you try and pray to Him. If you are out cheating on your spouse operating in the sin of adultery, then there is a very good chance that God may not hear any of your prayers. And if God is not hearing any of your personal prayers to Him, then you maynot be able to receive a divine healing from Him when you will really needone. So if you are really serious about wanting to approach God the Father fora divine healing, the first thing you must do is make sure that you do nothave any sins that may need to be forgiven and washed clean under theBlood of Jesus. You may want to ask the Holy Spirit to help you out. AskHim to show you if there are any sins that you may not be aware of that willneed to be confessed, forgiven, and washed clean under the blood of Jesus. If you are willing to go this far with the Lord, then you may have justremoved any major blocks or hindrances in being able to receive a divinehealing from Him. You may have just dramatically increased your chancesof now being able to receive a divine healing from God. Here are the verses: The specific wording in some of these verses, that God will “hear theprayer of the righteous” but that He is “far from the wicked”, that nogood thing will He withhold from those who are walking “uprightly,“ thatwe will receive answers to our prayers if we “keep His commandmentsand do them,” and that He will put “none of these diseases on you” if you“do what is right in His sight and keep all His statutes.” Keep these 6 kinds of verses front and center in your walk with the Lordso that you do not do anything that will prevent Him from wanting to workfull force in your own personal walk with Him. 1. “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2) 2. “The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.” (Proverbs 15:29) 3. “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” (Psalm 84:11) 4. “And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing 266

The Bible Basics in His sight.” (1 John 3:22) 5. “My son, do not forget My law, but let your heart keep My commands; for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you.” (Proverbs 3:1) 6. “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26) All of these verses are giving us major insight as to why sometimes we arenot getting answers to some of our prayers, especially in the area of divinehealing. There is simply no sugarcoating what these verses are trying to tellus. Even though all of our past, present, and future sins will be fully forgivenunder the blood of Jesus, we still have to make every concerted effort on ourend to try and stay out of sin. And once we know that we have fallen into aspecific sin, then we have to recognize it and admit it before the Lord, andthen confess it out to Him as a sin so we can receive His full forgiveness forit. One of the main reasons why more people do not receive divine healingsfrom the Lord may be due to sins that may not have yet been forgivenbecause they have not been recognized as actual sins, or that person isunwilling to have their sins be properly dealt with by God the Father. A person may be operating in the sin of adultery and he simply does notwant to give it up. And until he does, there is a very good chance that Godwill not be hearing any of his prayers, especially in the area of divinehealing. This is why we strongly recommend that anyone who is seeking after amajor miracle from God in the area of divine healing, that you ask the HolySpirit to help you out in discovering what those sins may be that will need tobe confessed and forgiven with God the Father. This strategy right here maybe the difference as to whether or not you receive a full divine healing fromthe Lord.9. Psychological Factors There are sometimes psychological factors that will come into play when 267

The Bible Basicsdealing with different types of sicknesses and illnesses. If someone is severely depressed, there is a good chance that thereimmune system may not be working as well as it should be, and they thuscan be more subject and prone to getting certain types of sicknesses ordiseases as compared to someone who is always upbeat, happy, cheerful, anddoing something positive with their lives. The medical profession has already found this link, that sometimes goodhealth can be directly related to having a good positive mindset. The Biblehas several very interesting verses on this mind body connection and how itcan relate to our physical health. Here they are: 1. “A sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones.” (Proverbs 14:30) 2. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.” (Proverbs 13:12) 3. “A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.” (Proverbs 15:13) 4. “A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22) 5. “Anxiety in the heart of a man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.” (Proverbs 12:25) 6. “There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health.” (Proverbs 12:18) 7. “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.” (Proverbs 16:24) The first verse says that “envy is rottenness to the bones.” This is whythe Bible tells us that we are transformed by the “renewing of our minds.” God wants to develop and put right thinking into our minds. Having agood positive mindset in the Lord may be one of the secrets in being able tohave good physical health while we are living down here on this earth.10. The Sin of Gluttony There are many in our society who are grossly overweight. For many ofthese people, there are certain malfunctions within their bodies causing this 268

The Bible Basicsabnormal weight gain. However, for many others, this weight gain is theresult of simply gluttony, overeating, and overeating of the wrong kinds offoods. With all of the good nutritional information that is now available, we allknow what these bad foods are. There is also a ton of educational materialthat is out there showing us what the good foods are and how to structure ourdiets accordingly to take off a lot of this excess weight. However, forwhatever their personal reasons may be, many people who are overweightsimply do not care they are overeating and that they are grossly overweight. God may have been striving with them, trying to get them to get theireating habits under better control. However, sooner or later, the human bodycan only take so much abuse, especially in the area of what we feed it, andthen the breakdown comes. A cancer could set in or a major heart attackcould occur. There are many different kinds of sicknesses and illnesses thatcan strike your body if you do not properly feed it and take proper care of it. Our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit. God the Father wants ustaking proper care of them. If we do not, and we steadfastly refuse to heedHis warnings and promptings, then God may choose not to want to heal youif you end up coming down with a major sickness of deliberately overeatingand abusing your body over all of those years. With none of us being perfect, there is a certain amount of slack with Godthe Father for some of our weaknesses and character flaws. Where we willget in major trouble with the Lord is when we start to push the envelope toofar with Him and tread past those slack lines where we should not be going. There is a slack line that operates in how we take care of our bodies. Godis all right with a certain amount of excess body weight due to our ownnatural imperfections. Where we will get into trouble is when we start to gopast our own individual slack lines with Him. If that should happen, then God will start giving you major warning signsand signals that you are getting to far off base. If after a certain amount oftime you do not heed those warnings and you keep going in the direction youare going, then God could pull back His hand of protection on you and youcould then end up coming down with a major sickness or disease. If you do what is right in the sight of the Lord, then He will not put any ofthese diseases on you. Going against the Lord by overeating and abusingyour body is not doing what is right in the Lord, and He thus could pull backHis hand of protection on you and your life. 269

The Bible Basics We will leave you with one very interesting verse that tells us to only eatwhat we really need lest we be filled with it and vomit. You can getphysically sick by overeating. ● “Have you found honey? Eat only as much as you need, lest you be filled with it and vomit.” (Proverbs 25:16)11. God is Still Sovereign in All of His Ways If you closely study all of the above verses from Scripture, the evidence isabsolutely overwhelming that God the Father really does want to heal manyof the times if He is properly approached in your prayers to Him. However, there is one more big debate going on in the Body of Christright now on the subject of divine healing. Many are teaching that it is thewill of God that you be healed every single time that you pray and ask forone, and that if you are not healed, then there is something wrong with you.Either your faith was not operating at a high enough level, or you have somekind of bad sin that you may be living in. Granted, there are times that God may want your faith operating at ahigher level than where you may be at right now. If that is the case, then Hemay want you getting more into the Word to study all of the versespertaining to divine healing before He will move in to heal you. You alsocould have some type of sin as discussed above that needs to be taken care ofbefore He will move in to heal you. But what about the Christian who is already operating at a very high levelof faith and they have a fairly clean slate with the Lord with no sins thatreally need to be confessed and forgiven? How do you explain it when theyare doing everything right in the Lord, and then all of a sudden they need aphysical healing for their own self and God does not heal them. How do youexplain this kind of scenario with the way all of the above Scripture versesare worded? God is still sovereign in all of His ways, which will include when He willmanifest the gift of healing on someone. We can only know in part whileliving down here on this earth. Sometimes God will tell us why He doeswhat He does and other times He will not. If God makes a personal decision not to heal someone when they areproperly approaching Him in prayer for their healing, then there is always aspecific reason as to why He is choosing not to heal this person at that time.Sometimes He will tell you what that reason may be and other times He will 270

The Bible Basicsnot. If He chooses not to tell you, then you have to have full faith and beliefthat He must have a very good reason for not wanting to heal you or theperson you may be praying for and to let it go at that. God always knows best! Let His perfect will be done in all matters, which will include who He will decide to heal and who He will not decide to heal. We know many people have had their mind’s really messed up when forwhatever reason God has chosen not to heal them, and then another Christiancomes along and starts trying to place a guilt trip on them, telling them thateither their faith was not operating at a high enough level, or that there mustbe something in their personal life that is preventing God from wanting toheal them. Sometimes this may be true, but other times it may not be true. If there areno blocks or hindrances in that person’ s life, then God is choosing not toheal for another reason. If you are not getting a healing for either yourself, or someone else youmay be praying for, then We would press into God and ask Him why He isnot moving in to heal either you or the other person you may be praying for.Ask Him to show you if there are any blocks or hindrances that have to bedealt with. If He comes back and tells you that there are no blocks or hindrances thathave to be dealt with, but that He has chosen not to heal at this time, thentrust that He has a very good reason for not wanting to move in with Hishealing power and let it go at that. It could be that it may be that person’stime to go home to be with Him, even if that person is still at a young agelike the story described above. God will have mercy on whom He chooses to have mercy on. This is oneof the verses from Scripture that is really emphasizing the sovereignty ofGod and that no one is going to tell Him how to run His universe. ● For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion”Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, But indeed, O’ man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?” Does not the potter have power over the clay” (Romans 9:15-21) 271

The Bible BasicsChapter 22The Sinner's Prayer Without question, the greatest and most powerful prayer that you can havein your arsenal is the Sinner's Prayer. The Sinner's Prayer is the type ofprayer that you will use to lead someone who is not saved into eternalsalvation by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. It isthe type of prayer that you will use to get someone saved and born again. The term\"Sinner's Prayer\" comes from those of a more charismatic typebackground. The reason they have labeled it the Sinner's Prayer is becausewe are all dead in our sins and trespasses until we get saved and born againby accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, hence the word\"sinner's\" prayer. This is the type of prayer you will see used when pastors and evangelistsmake an altar call at the end of their services, calling all of those up whowould like to get saved and born again by accepting Jesus Christ as theirpersonal Lord and Savior. This is the same type of prayer that you will see TV preachers use whenthey are trying to get people saved right over their TV sets. Many peoplehave been saved as a result of sitting on their couches, and then all of suddenthe Holy Spirit moves in on them as they are hearing a preacher teach aboutthe basics of salvation through Jesus Christ. One of the things that you will notice when watching all of this take placeis that no one really words the Sinner's Prayer in the exact same way.Everyone uses a little bit of different wording when saying this prayer outloud, instructing those to repeat after them the exact wording of the prayer inorder to get them saved. This type of prayer is very basic, short, simple andstraight to the point, so there is no real harm if there is some minor variationin how the prayer is actually worded. For those of you who would really like to be used by the Lord to witnessto get others saved and born again, but are afraid that you might get a bittongue tied at the moment of truth in leading a sinner to the Lord, wethought we would draw this bible basic up just for you. In this bible basic, we will give you a very nice, simple, basic, straight tothe point Sinner's Prayer that you can use to lead someone to the Lord whenthey are ready to take this step. We will also give you the appropriate versesfrom Scripture to show you exactly why this prayer is worded in the way thatit is, and exactly what goes on behind the scenes in the spiritual realm when 272

The Bible Basicsthe Lord makes a move on someone to get them saved. You may also want to consider having this Sinner's Prayer typed out on anindex card so that you can always have it handy and by your side in the eventthat the Lord decides He ever wants to personally use you to get someoneelse saved. Now here is a good, basic, simple and straight to the point Sinner's Prayerthat you can use to lead someone into the greatest gift and event of all, eternal salvation with God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. The Sinner's Prayer Say the following prayer out loud, believe it from your heart, and you willbecome saved and born again.Dear Father, I now believe that Jesus Christ is Your only begotten Son, that He came toour earth in the flesh and died on the cross to take away all of my sins andthe sins of this world. I believe that Jesus Christ then rose from the dead onthe third day to give all of us eternal life.Lord Jesus, I now confess to You all of the wrong and sinful things that I have everdone in my life. I ask that You please forgive me and wash away all of mysins by the blood that You have personally shed for me on the cross. I amnow ready to accept You as my personal Lord and Savior. I now ask thatYou come into my life and live with me for all of eternity.Father Jesus, I now believe that I am truly saved and born again.Thank You Father.Thank You Jesus. So that you can fully understand why this prayer is worded in the way thatit is, and exactly what is going on in the spiritual realm when God starts tomove in on someone to get them saved, we will give you all of theappropriate verses from the Bible to explain all of this to you. These verses will give you very good insight as to what is really going onbehind the scenes when the Holy Spirit starts to move in on someone to getthem saved.1. God the Father Will Draw the Sinner to Jesus Through the Holy Spirit The first thing you will need to realize is that you will not be alone whenyou step out to witness to someone in order to try and get them saved. Asyou will see in the first 4 verses we will list below, God the Father is the One 273

The Bible Basicswho will actually be\"drawing\" the sinner to Jesus. And how does Godactually\"draw\" this sinner to Jesus? He does it by and through the HolySpirit. As you will see in the way these verses are worded, they will specificallytell us that no one can come to Jesus to receive His gift of eternal salvationunless God the Father first starts to draw that person to Him. And then itsays that no one can say that Jesus is Lord unless it is done\"by\" the HolySpirit. When you put these first two verses together side by side like you wouldtwo pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, the revelation comes through loud and clear. Itis God the Father, operating through the presence and power of the HolySpirit, that will draw the sinner to Jesus in order for them to be able to acceptJesus as their personal Lord and Savior. What this now tells you is that you will not be alone when you try andwitness to someone. You will literally have the power of the Holy SpiritHimself operating through you to be able to effectively witness to others. You will have the anointing of God Almighty Himself on you to be able todo this. This is why each and every saved person should always keep theirspiritual radars up, as you never know when God will move to want to useyou to witness to another person. Here are the first 4 verses, all showing you exactly what is occurringbehind the scenes when God starts to move in on someone in an effort to tryand get them saved. 1. \"No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.\" (John 6:44) 2. \"And no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.\" (1 Corinthians 12:3) 3. \"While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit FELL UPON all those who heard the word.\" (Acts 10:44) 4. \"The Lord OPENED HER HEART to heed the things spoken by Paul.\" (Acts 16:14) The first two verses are telling you that God the Father is drawing theunsaved sinner to His Son Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. The thirdverse is a very good verse showing you that the Holy Spirit can then\"fallupon\" those in a room that you may be witnessing to. The last verse then shows you that once the Holy Spirit falls uponsomeone as you are delivering the Word. He will then open up this person'sheart so that the words you are speaking to this person will enter in. Andonce those words enter into this person's mind, heart and spirit, then theHoly Spirit can start to move in to illuminate and enlighten this person as to 274

The Bible Basicswhat the real meaning of God's gift of eternal salvation through His Son andHis death on the cross is really all about. These first four verses are very powerful pieces of revelation being givento us by God the Father as to what is really going on behind the scenes in thespiritual realm when God makes a move on someone in an effort to try andget them saved. These four verses should give all saved people totalconfidence and faith in the Lord that His power will be by their side if theyare willing to step out of their boats to witness to others. Once God the Father starts to make a move on someone in an effort to tryand get them saved through the power of the Holy Spirit, something veryinteresting will then start to happen, which will now lead us right into thenext section.2. True Repentance Will Lead to Salvation Once the Holy Spirit moves in on someone to start to try and work theminto accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior, something very profound willstart to happen. One of the main jobs of the Holy Spirit is to bring\"conviction\" to thesinner. Jesus Christ came to our earth in the flesh to die on a cross for all ofour sins. What this means is that you cannot begin to accept Jesus Christ as yourpersonal Lord and Savior unless you can see and realize that you are truly asinner in need of a Savior. If you can't see and admit that you are truly asinner, then you will see no need to accept what Jesus did for you when Hedied on the cross for you. This is why the Bible is telling us that God the Father has to work throughthe Holy Spirit in order to bring a sinner into a true conversion experience. Itis the job of the Holy Spirit to open up that person's mind and spirit. Oncethat person's mind and spirit has been properly opened up, then the HolySpirit can start to work with them to show them that they are truly a sinnerand that there is no saving grace for them in the natural sinful state in whichthey were born into this world with. As you will see in some of the Scripture verses we will list below, theBible is emphatically clear that every single one of us, with no exceptions, has been born into this world in sin and in iniquity. We have all been borninto this world from our mother's womb with a sin nature imbedded into us.The minute we are born into this world, we all appear as an\"unclean thing\"before the eyes of God the Father. All men and all women have sinned and have fallen way short of the gloryof our God. It says that there is none of us that are righteous before the eyes 275

The Bible Basicsof God the Father and with what little righteousness we think we may have, this righteousness appears as nothing but as filthy rags before God theFather. As a result of this sinful state and nature that we have all been born intothis world with, it now becomes the job of the Holy Spirit to enlighten us, toilluminate us, and to show us the real truth of the matter. The Holy Spirit will start to convict the sinner. He will show the personwhat a sinner they have been all of their life. He will show and point outcertain sins of their past and how these sins and behaviors are totallyunacceptable in the eyes of God the Father. He will show them howpowerless and helpless they really are in their natural state in being able topull out of some of their sins. Once you begin to see what a hopeless and miserable sinner you really areand that you do not have the mental or emotional capacity within your ownbeing to change yourself for the better, then you will become open toreceiving the truth of the gospel. Then you will be open to listening to whathappened to Jesus when He came down to our earth in the flesh to die on thecross for all of our sins. Once you fully see and realize that you have been born into this world as asinner and that you have been living all of your life as a sinner, then you willbe ready to accept God's free gift of eternal salvation through His Son JesusChrist and His sacrificial death on that cross. Then you will see that it is the grace, mercy and goodness of God andJesus that will save you from yourself and your sinful state. You will see thatGod the Father is now willing to grant you a pardon and make a way ofescape for you from the eventual fires of a real live living hell if you arewilling to believe on His Son Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. The 8 verses we will list under this section will show you that a truerepentance from the heart will be what will lead you to be able to have a truesalvation and conversion experience with the Lord. The first three verses wewill list all use the words\"repent\" or\"repentance.\" And all three of theseverses are linking the word\"repentance\" to being saved and converted to theLord. The word\"repentance\" means a turning away from sin and a turning backto God. It means to be willing to have a change of heart, a change of attitudeand a change of mind. It means you are now willing to accept Jesus as yourpersonal Lord and Savior, and once you do this, that you will then be willingto work with the Lord for the rest of your life so that He can transform andsanctify you into the express image of Himself. Now here are 8 very powerful verses all showing us that we have all been 276

The Bible Basicsborn into this world as corrupt sinners and that having a true repentant heartwill be the key to being able to receive God's gift of eternal salvationthrough His Son Jesus Christ. 1. \"For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation.\" (2 Corinthians 7:10) 2. \"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.\" (Acts 3:19) 3. \"I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.\" (Luke 13:5) 4. \"Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.\" (Psalms 51:5) 5. \"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God\" (Romans 3:23) 6. \"As it is written:\"There is none righteous, no not one\" (Romans 3:10) 7. \"But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are like filthy rags; we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind\" (Isaiah 64:6) 8. \"But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us\" (Titus 3:4) All 8 of these verses are major power verses on being able to understandexactly what needs to be understood before we can really have a trueconversion experience with the Lord. This is why the first three verses are really emphasizing the fact that youmust first be willing to repent before God before you can really accept Jesusas your personal Savior. If you would like a bit more information on thistopic, we have another bible basic titled\"True Repentance Will Lead toSalvation.\" The last 5 verses are stating, without any other possible interpretation, thatwe have all been born into this world with an inherent sin nature and wehave all thus become sinners in this life. As a result, none of us appears trulyrighteous and good before the eyes of God the Father. God the Father could not make things any more clear on the basics of oursalvation through His Son Jesus than with the way that He has worded all ofthe above verses.3. Total Forgiveness of All of Our Sins Once the sinner has been truly enlightened by the Holy Spirit as to what a 277

The Bible Basicssinner he really is and that a true repentant heart on his end will now open upthe door for him to be able to receive God's gift of eternal salvation throughHis Son Jesus Christ, then the last thing that will need to be explained to thisperson is that once he fully accepts Jesus Christ as his personal Lord andSavior, then all of his past, present and future sins will be fully forgiven. The verses We will list under this section are again major foundationalverses. God is once again using some very intense language in some of theseverses. He says that once the sinner accepts His gift of eternal salvation, thennot only are all of his sins fully forgiven, but these sins are nolonger\"remembered\" in His mind. They have now been fully removed fromHim as far as the east is from the west! Your slate has now been made fullyclean! Here are 6 very powerful verses showing that all sinners will now have allof their sins fully forgiven and fully wiped clean from their past, present andfuture if they are willing to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. 1. \"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace\" (Ephesians 1:7) 2. \"To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.\" (Acts 10:43) 3. \"For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.\" (Matthew 26:28) 4. \"I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins.\" (Isaiah 43:25) 5. \"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.\" (Psalms 103:2,11) 6. \"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.\" (1 John 1:9) Notice in the last verse it says that you have to first\"confess\" your sinsbefore the Lord before you can receive His forgiveness for those sins. This iswhy you have the sinner confess out all of the wrong and sinful things theyhave ever done in their lives in the above Sinner's Prayer. You first have tobe willing to admit that you are a sinner, and then be willing to confess all ofyour sins before God can move in to save you and bring you totalforgiveness for all of those sins. Once you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviorand have had all of your sins fully forgiven, something very awesome willnow happen next. 278

The Bible Basics4. You Have Now Become a New Creation, All Things Are Now Brand New These next 10 verses will now be the icing on the entire cake. As a resultof accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, not only are all of yoursins fully forgiven, not only will you get to go straight to heaven when youdie and cross over, but you have now become a brand new creation in Godand Jesus. As a result of becoming a brand new creation in the Lord, all oldthings have now passed away and all things have now been made brand new! You have now been given a brand new life with a brand new start, alongwith a brand new heart and a brand new Spirit being put into you by God theFather. This Spirit that God will now be putting into you will be the HolySpirit Himself. As you will see in several of the verses we will list below, each personwho gets saved and born again receives the Holy Spirit Himself at the exactmoment of their conversion. And then the Bible takes it one step further. Itsays that we are then\"sealed\" with the presence of the Holy Spirit. These next 10 verses are so profound, that many saved people miss out onwhat God is really trying to tell them. These verses really need to bemeditated on and chewed on. We will go ahead and list each one of them, and then point out some of the key revelation that God is trying to transmitto all of us. 1. \"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.\" (2 Corinthians 5:17) 2. \"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world\" (Ephesians 2:1) 3. \"He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.\" (Colossians 1:13) 4. And a voice spoke to him again the second time,\"What God has cleansed you must not call common.\" (Acts 10:15) 5. \"Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.\" (Ezekiel 36:25) 279

The Bible Basics 6. Then Peter said to them,\"Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.\" (Acts 2:38) 7. \"In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.\" (Ephesians 1:13) 8. \"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.\" (Ephesians 4:30) 9. \"Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a deposit.\" (2 Corinthians 1:21) 10. \"Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.\" (2 Corinthians 5:5) Put all of these verses together, one right after the other, and you can thensee what God is trying to tell you once you become saved and born again. You will now get all of the following benefits and blessings: ● You have now become a brand new creation ● You have now been made fully alive ● All old things have now passed away ● All things have now been made brand new ● You have now been delivered from the powers of darkness ● You have now been translated into the Kingdom of God ● You have now been given a brand new heart of flesh ● You have now received the Holy Spirit Himself As a result of having the Holy Spirit now literally living on the inside ofyou, you have now become a brand new creation and you have now beenmade fully alive! You now have God's supernatural power available to youto help transform and sanctify you. As a result of now having the Holy Spirit residing on the inside of you,you now have His supernatural power to defeat the powers of darkness, whether they be attacking you or anyone else that may be close to you. This is why the Bible is specifically telling us in the above verse that youhave now been delivered from the powers of darkness. Satan and his demonsno longer have any ability to continue to have any kind of hold on you, because you now have the power of God operating through the Holy Spirit todefeat any demons that may try and come against you. 280

The Bible Basics Another incredible benefit that you will get as a result of having the HolySpirit now residing on the inside of you is that you will now be given abrand new heart. In the above verse from Ezekiel, God says that He will takeout your heart of stone, which is a hard type of heart, and replace it with aheart of flesh, which is a tender type of heart that is now capable of feelingcompassion and empathy for other people. As a result of now making Jesus Lord over your life, this means that youhave now been given a brand new life with a brand new start. God will nowbe placing you into His perfect will for your life. God, through His Holy Spirit, will now be leading and guiding you downthe path that He will want you to follow in this life. God will be letting youknow exactly what your call, what your purpose, and what your destiny isgoing to be for Him. Your brand new life will now have meaning and purpose to it, becauseyou will now be finding out exactly why God created you in the first placeand exactly what it is God wants to do with your life. As a result of this brand new life that God will now be placing out beforeyou, all old things will now past away. You can now finally let go of all ofyour past, along with all of the hurts and heartaches of your past. No matter what has happened to you in your past, no matter how manysins you may have committed, and no matter how bad and vile some of thosesins may have been, God can fully forgive you of all of your sins. God can now wipe your slate fully clean. He can also help clean up anyloose ends from your past that may be trying to hold you back from beingable to propel full steam ahead into the divine destiny that He now has setout before you. This is why getting a person saved and born again is the greatest thing youcan do for another person this side of heaven. Not only will you get themsaved from the fires of a real live living hell when they die and cross over, but you will also be giving them a brand new life, with a brand new start anda brand new direction to follow. The gift of eternal salvation by accepting Jesus Christ as your personalLord and Savior, is without question, the greatest and most life-alteringexperience any human can have this side of heaven. And God the Father can use each and everyone of you over the course ofyour life to lead a certain amount of people to this free gift that He is onlytoo happy and too anxious to give to all of those who are willing to repentand believe on Him for this gift.5. Confess With Your Mouth, Believe From Your Heart 281

The Bible Basics All of the above verses will give you some major live ammunition to usewhen you start to try and witness to others about the basics of salvationthrough our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit will also be thereto help you out with all of this. The Holy Spirit will anoint your words as you are speaking them out. Andthen once those words are spoken out and they have entered into thatperson's mind and spirit, then the Holy Spirit can start to work behind thescenes to help illuminate and enlighten this person's mind and intellect sothey can fully understand what God's message of eternal salvation is reallyall about. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit will wrestle and strive with a man in aneffort to try and show them the errors of their ways and the errors of theirthinking. This wrestling match that will occur between the unsaved sinnerand the Holy Spirit can last anywhere from a few minutes, to a few days, to afew weeks, to several years, to many years and in some cases, literally rightup to the deathbed of that person. Many people have actually been savedright on their deathbeds. The Holy Spirit will wrestle, strive and chase after a person for a goodportion of their lives, but that person keeps rejecting His strivings over andover again. The Holy Spirit will not strive with a man forever. This meansthat there is a limit to God's patience. And once that breaking point has beenreached with God the Father, then it is over and that person is then doomedto spend the rest of all of eternity in the most horrible place imaginable whenthey die and cross over. God will win some and God will lose some in His efforts and strategies totry and get as many people saved as He possibly can before they die andcross over. And it will be the same with you. Some people you will be ableto lead to the Lord and others you will not, no matter how hard you witnessto them and no matter how hard you may pray for them. Man will always have his free will on all of this and not even God Himselfwill force anyone to accept the pardon and redemption that He is willing tooffer them through the blood and death of His Son Jesus Christ. There will be many that will accept what Jesus has done for them, especially if they are being properly witnessed to by an anointed, Spirit-filledbeliever who knows how to flow and operate with his leadings from theHoly Spirit. Once a sinner has seen the light and the real truth of the gospel, then theyare now ready to be led into a true salvation-conversion experience with theLord. And this is where the above type of Sinners Prayer will now come in. Here is the verse from Scripture that will show you how a person will 282

The Bible Basicsactually get saved. This particular verse has to be one of the most powerfulverses in all of Scripture, because in this verse is complete revelation on howa person is able to get saved and born again. Here is the verse: And then We will show you how it lines up with how the above Sinner'sPrayer is worded. ● \"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.\" (Romans 10:9) Notice the following:1. In the above Sinner's Prayer, you are instructed to say the prayer out loud.If by chance the person cannot verbally speak the prayer out loud forwhatever reason, then they can say the Sinner's Prayer silently in their ownmind to themselves. If they can verbally speak out loud without anyproblems or impediments, then the Sinner's Prayer should really be said outloud. Notice in the above verse that it says\"with the MOUTH confession ismade to salvation\" and\"if you confess with your MOUTH the Lord Jesus.\"Both phrases are using the word\"mouth.\" Your mouth is what you speakthings out with. This verse is thus telling you that you need to make a public confessionout loud with your mouth to God and Jesus when you start saying theSinner's Prayer to receive Their gift of eternal salvation. This is why youalways have the pastors, evangelists and other believers have the unsavedsinner say the Sinner's Prayer out loud based upon the specific wording ofthis verse.2. The second thing we have listed in the above Sinner's Prayer is that inaddition to confessing all of this out loud, that you also have to believe in allof this from your heart. The wording in the above verse says that you haveto\"believe in your heart\" that God has raised Jesus from the dead. God will give each person a certain measure of faith in order to be able tobelieve in all of this. A person cannot be brought into a true salvationexperience unless the Holy Spirit is moving and working with that person. The Holy Spirit will be the One to give this person enough faith and belief tobe able to believe in all of this.3. In the above Sinner's Prayer, you first have the person start out by statingthat he or she now believes in who Jesus Christ really is. This will help setthe stage for being able to accept what Jesus' death on the cross really meansfor them. 283

The Bible Basics The first part of the Sinner's Prayer thus starts out with a very basicstatement in that the sinner is now believing that Jesus Christ is the onlybegotten Son of God, that Jesus then came down to our earth in the flesh, and that He then went to die on the cross for all of the sins of this world. This opening statement then ends with the specific wording that the sinnernow believes that God has raised Jesus from the dead on the third day fromHis crucifixion. The above verse says that you have to believe that God had raised Jesusfrom the dead. If you don't or can't believe that Jesus literally resurrectedfrom the dead on the third day, then you cannot get saved and brought intoGod's kingdom. The death and resurrection of Jesus go hand in hand andboth doctrines have to be fully believed before you can get saved and bornagain.4. After this opening statement has been made, then the unsaved sinner willconfess out all of the wrong and sinful things they have ever done in theirlives. In the above caption titled\"True Repentance Will Lead to Salvation\", aperson cannot enter into a true born again salvation experience unless theyare willing to admit that they are a sinner, and then be willing to confessthose sins, and then be willing to repent and turn away from those sins. Theperson does not have to list out each one of their sins at this time unless theLord is specifically wanting them to do it. The Lord may deal with them alittle bit later on in the privacy of their own thoughts and life, as this maytake some additional time depending on how much of a bad past this personmay have. But for the purposes of getting this person saved, born again andcrossed over into the arms of God and Jesus, all they have to be willing to doat this time is to admit that they are a sinner, and then be willing to confessall of their sins in general to God and Jesus. Notice that you have the personmake the statement that they are now willing to confess all of their sins toJesus and then they ask God to please forgive them from all of their sins bythe blood that Jesus has personally shed for them on the cross.5. After the above confession is made out on their sins, then the person endsthe Sinner's Prayer by stating that they are now ready to accept Jesus Christas their personal Lord and Savior, and then they will ask Jesus to come intotheir lives and live with them for all of eternity. This prayer is simple, short, sweet and straight to the point. If this prayer is confessed and said out loud, and believed from the heart before the Lord, then that person will becomesaved and born again, right on the spot where they complete this prayer. Itcan literally be that quick and that simple! A sinner can get saved anywhere, anytime and at any place. It can happenat an altar call at a church or as you are witnessing to someone in the privacy 284

The Bible Basicsof your own home or their home. It can happen out in a public setting suchas a shopping mall, on a street corner, in a car, on a train, on a plane, etc. Itcan also happen to someone all by themselves as they are watching a TVminister preach over the TV and then he has them recite the Sinner's Prayerout loud as he gives them the specific words to say. Many people have beensaved right over their TV sets. The Holy Spirit can literally move into aperson's house off of the anointing that a TV minister may have operatingthrough him. There is no end to the different ways and in the different placesthat God will use to try and get someone saved. And in many of thesesituations and places, God is wanting to pull that person in through anotherbeliever. God the Father wants all of us to become fisherman for Him. As such, every single saved person should always keep their radars up and besensitive to any leadings, promptings or unctions they may receive from theHoly Spirit to work with an unsaved person. 285
