Comparative Remedial

Assalamu'alaikum wr wb. Good morning. Today we are going to do remedial of comparative because I can see that it's still difficult to understand.

We already learned last time, comparative is used when we want to compare two objects, like people, animals or things.

Let's go back to first things : syllables and adjectives. Syllable : is part of word that contains 1 vowel and consonants (Vowels : A, I, E, U, O) (Consonants : B, C, D, F, G ...) Adjective : a word that describe a noun.

How many syllables are these words : Long Old Funny Happy Difficult Beautiful

Long and old are 1 syllable Funny and happy are 2 syllables Difficult and beautiful are 3 syllables

So how are we going to use it as comparative?

For adjectives with 1 and 2 syllables we put -er at the end and put than. Old + er + than ---- older than Young + er + than --- younger than Big + er + than --- bigger than Tall + er + than ---- taller than Small + er + than ---- smaller than Shy + er + than --- shyer than

For adjectives with 3 syllables or more we use more + than Talkative ---- more talkative than Hardworking ---- more hardworking than Beautiful --- more beautiful than Complicated --- more complicated than

OK that's all for today. Now let's see if you can answer the questions correctly.

Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
