Want To Learn Jewelry Photography? Make Sure You’ve Got All You Need! Well, who doesn’t love Jewellery! And if you’re a woman, we know you must have spent hours looking (or should we rather say, gazing) at one of those beautiful necklaces or earrings on the ecommerce site. That jewelry really look pretty on the images, don’t they? But do you know what it takes to photograph them so beautifully? We bet you don’t! Whether it's a Necklace or a Ring or anything, it’s really tricky to photograph them. Though there are a few tricks you can use to ease the process, you can’t even begin unless you’ve got all the right tools. So, here in this article, we’ll describe all the prerequisites for starting a career in Jewelry Stylish Photography or simply doing it for fun. Things you’ll need: 1. Natural Light Source: Photographing jewelry using an artificial light source, like a flash, is a terrible idea. It’ll make it over-exposed with dark shadows behind it. So, unless you have a professional studio (which we assume you don’t since you’re a beginner), you should stick to the sunlight. You can place your product beside a window avoiding direct sunlight and then photograph it. 2. Background: It’s an obvious fact that jewelry is highly reflective; this makes photographing it, with its actual colors, very difficult, unless you’ve

got the right background. A black or white-collared background would be perfect as any other colors would get reflected on the jewelry, making it look different from the actual. 3. Photography Camera & Stand: For the starters, the camera specifications don't really mean much; it’s the lens. So, go for a lens with 60mm of focal length. This lens would be perfect for obtaining half-life- size images. Also, get a stand to get good focused pictures. 4. Jewellery Clipboard: Though using a mannequin would be perfect, since you’re a starter, you can use a jewelry clipboard made from cardboard to save costs. For photographing the necklace, cover the cardboard using white paper and then pin both ends of the necklace onto it. 5. Glue or Tapes: For a ring, you’ll need glue or double-sided tape. You can place the ring up horizontally and stick the bottom to the surface using glue or double-sided tape. Then adjust the angle, if required, to get a perfect shot. Bottom Lines: These are a few things that you’ll need in order to start your journey to become a professional in Jewellery Stylish Photography. With all that said, we hope you would’ve gained some valuable insights into the same.
