On either side are chrome-bezeled headlights, and the hood hinges and beltline molding are cast in crisp relief, then over- printed with bright chrome, as is the running board trim. Smaller parts, like the door handles, spare tire carriers, and the handle for the roof’s rear section are separate plated pieces. e base casting that all of this lives on is beautiful in its subtleties - like the twin rows of louvers along each side of the hood, which somehow have perfectly uniform black “openings.” Check out the luggage rack; it’s wear- ing more bright printed trim, and another photo-etched Mercedes star. More of those stellar elements live at the center of each of the six hubcaps, and there’s even a small rectangular hump in the outer edge trim of the running board - as there was in life.
