Introduction 2 ● Almost half of the world's students are still affected by school closures a year after the pandemic. ● Businesses also closed, resulting in the loss of 255 million full-time jobs. ● Economically, women have been hit harder than men. ● Some good news for the environment: global energy-related CO2 emissions decreased by 5.8% in 2020. ● For the first time in 20 years, extreme poverty increased in just a few months of Covid-19. Mission We equip children from disadvantaged communities to improve their families and communities by providing them with an opportunity to bring about holistic development. We do this through education scholarships and development projects in the schools and communities. ACTIVITIES OF SUNRISE HOME Training on the POCSO Act and COVID Precautions. HHWS Annual Report 2020-2021 The rice was harvested in 160 bags. Distributed food materials for children during COVID Sunrise initiated a sheep rearing unit and purchased 11 male sheep as a trial project. The library is housed in a separate hall. 10

Activities of Sunshine Home ● As Per Supreme Court instructions, all children in childcare institutions with relatives were required to return to their biological families. ● The covid-19 protocol was trained for the children and staff. ● SOPs were in place, and strict instructions were given to avoid all possible routes of infections. ● All our children and their families were stayed connected. ● HHWS office provided groceries and money for the children and their families. HHWS Annual Report 2020-2021 ● Jim Rennie and Brenda Robinson sponsored a new bore well on September 15, 2020. ● Brenda Robinson helped with installing solar lights and the remodelling of the vocational unit at home. 13
● Jefferson, the son of Anita and Jeffery, donated his first salary to the grand New Year celebrations. ● Sunshine's Online International Christmas Homecoming, which took place on December 12, 2020, was a memorable event for former and current students. ● The Christmas food and clothes were sponsored by Aunty Becky and her family from New Zealand. Activities of Bethel Home ● The COVID19 lockdown kept many potential students away. HHWS Annual Report 2020-2021 ● The pupils stayed at home and learned from a private tutor. ● Many students could not afford to buy a smartphone to attend the online class, and there is no network in the area. ● Several students from classes VI, Vll, Vlll, and IX were there during the lockdown at Bethel Home. ● Parents also resented the idea of their children spending time away from them while in the school hostel during pandemic COVID19. 27

ASIAN AID SCHOOL FOR BLIND
Activities of the Year – Asian Aid School for Blind • The school was reopened once all COVID safety precautions were taken, and formal government standards were followed. • Teachers participated in NIVH Dehradun and NIVH Chennai webinars. • Child Impact International has replaced the asbestos sheets on the school roof with stern- sheets, and the staff rooms have been refurbished and painted. • This academic year, four new admissions and previous students totalled 76 students, 18 females and 58 boys. • On the 18th of March, the school provided mobility training and mobility sticks to all total blind students. Activities of the Year • On January 26th, the school celebrated Republic Day, and Mr Dooravasulu, a senior HHWS Annual Report 2020-2021 teacher who is visually impaired, raised the flag. • On March 9th, all of the school's students and staff took the COVID test and celebrated Women's Day, honouring all of the school's women. • On March 17th, the Vizag-based NGO KID POWER gave braille kits to girls and boys of the school. • On April 8th, well-organized Braille reading and writing competitions were held. • Mr. Apparao Garu, a retired army officer, was garlanded with Louis braille photographs on World Braille Day, January 4th. 38

Rice Bag distribution project for School Staff in Andhra Pradesh • In coordination with field staff and the ground support, 60 schools under the ECIU, SCIU and other regions were shortlisted under the RICE BAG distribution project. • Many schools in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and other regions face a financial challenge. • Based on the assessment, HHWS, along with its funding partners, Child Impact International, decided to distribute food kits to staff in the Adventist schools in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
