GE-9 Life and Works of Rizal Scrapbook Submitted by: Harold B. Tabares Sumbitted to: Bern Anne Rhea Quirante Escorial

My favorite poems of Jose 1.Our Mother Tongue 2.First Inspiration 3. To My Fellow Children

Our Mother Tongue IF truly a people dearly love ONE who doesn't love his native tongue, The tongue to them by Heaven sent, Is worse than putrid fish and beast; AND like a truly precious thing They'll surely yearn for liberty It therefore deserves to be cherished. Like a bird above in the firmament. THE Tagalog language's akin to Latin, To English, Spanish, angelical tongue; BECAUSE by its language one can judge For God who knows how to look after us A town, a barrio, and kingdom; This language He bestowed us upon. And like any other created thing Every human being loves his freedom. AS others, our language is the same With alphabet and letters of its own, It was lost because a storm did destroy On the lake the bangka 1 in years bygone.

The main meaning of the poem called Our Mother Tongue is about love and pride. It shows that you should take pride in your own language to achieve freedom. Loving the birth language connects also how you love the country. In my own experience, it is overwhelming to see your country represented by your fellow country using the culture and languauge we had to make big difference and positive change in the world. Our language can be an instrument of change, so we must love our language as much how we love our country.

First Inspiration WHY FALLS SO RICH A SPRAY OF FRAGRANCE FROM THE BOWERS OF THE BALMY FLOWERS UPON THIS FESTIVE DAY? WHY FROM WOODS AND VALES DO WE HEAR SWEET MEASURES RINGING THAT SEEM TO BE THE SINGING OF A CHOIR OF NIGHTINGALES? WHY IN THE GRASS BELOW DO BIRDS START AT THE WIND'S NOISES, UNLEASHING THEIR HONEYED VOICES AS THEY HOP FROM BOUGH TO BOUGH? WHY SHOULD THE SPRING THAT GLOWS ITS CRYSTALLINE MURMUR BE TUNING TO THE ZEPHYR'S MELLOW CROONING AS AMONG THE FLOWERS IT FLOWS?

Why seems to me more endearing, more fair than on other days, the dawn's enchanting face among red clouds appearing? The reason, dear mother, is they feast your day of bloom: the rose with its perfume, the bird with its harmonies. And the spring that rings with laughter upon this joyful day with its murmur seems to say: \"Live happily ever after!\" And from that spring in the grove now turn to hear the first note that from my lute I emote to the impulse of my love.

My First inspiration by Rizal is about the love between a mother and a child. A mother is the first teacher and first inspiration for a child. For me my mother is my first inspiration for her love is calm and full of comfort, she is my reasonwhy I'm still fighting and living this life. Without my mother, I couldn't imagine my life ahead. Mother's love is pure, I can still WremreimteberYwohuern BI giget TspoupnikcwoirthImdyefaather, my Mama will just cry and wipe my tears. Elaborate on what you want to discuss.

To my fellow children Whenever people of a country truly love Tagalog and the Latin language are the same The language which by heav'n they were taught to use And English and Castilian and the angels' tongue; That country also surely liberty pursue And God, whose watchful care o'er all is flung, As does the bird which soars to freer space above. Has given us His blessing in the speech we calim, For language is the final judge and referee Our mother tongue, like all the highest tht we know Upon the people in the land where it holds sway; Had alphabet and letters of its very own; In truth our human race resembles in this way But these were lost -- by furious waves were The other living beings born in liberty. overthrown Like bancas in the stormy sea, long years ago. Whoever knows not how to love his native tongue Is worse than any best or evil smelling fish. To make our language richer ought to be our wish The same as any mother loves to feed her young.

Jose Rizal composed the poem “To the Filipino Youth,” dedicating to the youth of the Philippines. He wanted the Filipino youth to use their capabilities, talents and skills to stand out not only for their own praise and success but also for the praise and success of their own motherland, the Philippines. Jose wants us and the future generation to be hungry for knowledge and succes in order us to help our country great and not be an inferior to other country, the youth shall used their God given talent to help the community to prosper.
