Lifestyle & Travel Escape Experience Sun Sand Imagine Summertime You are probably wondering why I’m mentioning these words with what’s going on in the world today. You have heard the phrase revenge travel. Yes, revenge travel is here, the airports are full, and the planes are full. I grew up in South Georgia a small-town call Sasser, Georgia. We have a caution light and lots of churches. Travel is what other people did who didn’t look like me and for rich people. Guess what you don’t have to be rich, and travel is for everybody. My grandmother told me to drink lots of water, eat healthy and take supplements. Guess what that holds true today and I am still doing this Granny. I’m part of a travel club and my life has changed. I have met some amazing people from all over the world. There are travel packages, unique experiences that offers renowned sporting events, health and wellness benefits and products. In order to travel it’s important that you are looking for your best, feeling your best so that you can experience your best life

1. Let’s start now! No time like the present. Get a playlist that features summer hits. Go old school like Dona Summers “Hot Stuff”, Nelly “Hot in Here”, Isley Brothers “Summer Breeze”, Sly and The Family Stone “Hot Fun in the Summertime, Zhane “Hey Mr. D.J”, Chic “Dance. Dance, Dance, Janet Jackson “The Pleasure Principle”. Those are some of my favorites. 2. If you are on a budget you can fire up the grill, spruce up your patio and make it colorful. Pick a destination and prepare that destination food. Pack a soul food picnic basket and head to the park. Escape to the beach with your sunscreen, take a good book or just sit still and think about and write about what you are grateful and thankful for. Don’t forget your playlist. 3. If you are looking for some ME TIME. Mindful mediation might be for you. I know it is for me. You may be looking to increase your peace; help manage your weight and to deepen your sleep. I have a few questions for you. Do you want to lower your stress and anxiety levels? Do you want to sleep better? Do you want to manage your weight? Do you have lack of energy? Do you just want to feel better and look better? Mediation can help with all of that. Who knew just sitting still and breathing could be so difficult but so rewarding? Meditation isn’t so much about emptying the mind. It is about being aware and engaged with the present. It’s natural for your mind to drift off course like cooking, cleaning, bills, work, kids, husband and on and on. The trick is to refocus your thoughts on your breathe, the silence around you or nature and the floor or ground underneath you. Focus on a blue sky and on a sunny day. Focus on the word peace and seeing the fluffy clouds moving past or looking at the ocean. At the same time breathe slowly in an in and out breathe movement. If you have an apple watch with the breath app then you can follow along. If you have never tried mediating, give it a shot. We owe it to ourselves to reclaim our time and get our inner peace back. You deserve it. 4. Let’s talk travel and wellness which can lead to a healthier habit and a fine body! Travel is a $9.25 billion dollar industry. Global wellness is a $4.2 trillion industry that has an endless variety of retreats devoted to health and spiritual growth, treatments, products, spas, and apps. Travel is beneficial to our health. We are confronted with high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, obesity, and all kinds of aliments. You owe it to yourself and your family to be well.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Stay Woke… What God sends is test. As a black woman I will not let tears stain my face. I will continue to step out on faith and let God lead me. I am HER and my grind is serious to keep my faith unimaginable. I will not be intimidated by the rain or storms that comes my way because that is not in God’s plan. I am convinced that my strength allows to share not only strengths and successes, but my weaknesses failures and brokenness which does not make me any less of a strong Black Woman! I fall, I rise… I make mistakes, I learn… I get hurt; I bounce back… I’m not perfect, I’m human. I have confidence; I have faith. I will continue putting one foot in front of the other and moving forward. BECAUSE… That is what a strong woman does! iSHINE MAGAZINE
