Principal’s message Legendary Henry Ford said, “Life begins with one step outside of your comfort zone”. The Infinity School aspires to provide an intellectually challenging learning environment that encourages the young learners to become creative, logical and critical thinkers. Our e-magazine Anant Anubhav (the infinite experiences) is an outcome of the above. This outcome, in the silhouette of the inaugural issue of our e-magazine, is truly commendable and heartening. The magazine truly substantiates the tag line that says a magazine by the students, for the students, of the students, as this initiative is completely student-led supported at the back-end by the school mentors. The magazine aids the objective of equipping our students with appropriate skills that will enable them to meet the challenges of the ever-changing world outside of school. Our grade 6 learners utilized their work experience classes to create the platform that will keep the parents informed about all that has happened at school in the preceding quarter, across the grades. While the teachers guided the TIS’s young reporters and journalists, it gives me immense pleasure to state that the learners have meaningfully contributed towards accomplishment of this initiative. I wish to extend my compliments to the students of grade 6 and teachers who worked towards bringing out the first edition of this magazine. Their concerted efforts to walk the path of school’s vision and mission is highly appreciated. I would also like to thank all the parents for trusting the school and giving us the moral support in all such initiatives. Many more new initiatives are in the pipeline and shall be rolled out in due course. It is rightly said ‘well begun is half done’. Sangeeta Kapoor Principal 4

Grade-6 \"Always remember you are unique. Just like everyone else.\" - Margaret Mead The learners of Grade 6 reflected on how each one of us is unique and different. There is beauty in the differences that we all possess and it is this difference that we celebrate each day. Earth rotates around its own axis. Learners of Grade 6 employed an innovative way to familiarise themselves with this fact. They utilised materials readily available at home, like potato and needle to see what causes night and daytime. 17
Grade-6 The learners of Grade 6 learned the position of prime meridian and longitudes on the Earth with the help of ribbon/dupatta. The knot of the ribbon/dupatta represents the poles and different sections of the ribbon/dupatta represent the longitudes. It also enabled them to map point coordinates of latitude and longitude. Learners of Grade 6 realized the functions of joints in helping us bend our fingers by performing the ‘paper and toothpick’ activity. In one hand cut-out, they pasted the single toothpicks. In the second cut-out, they pasted the toothpicks with breaks in between. Then they compared both the hands to see in which they can bend their fingers and in which they cannot. 18
STEAM STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. By getting involved in STEAM experiences, the young minds tend to explore the nature and the natural phenomena in an investigative manner. They get an opportunity to problem-solve and seek solutions from within rather than the teacher having to do it for them and that is when real learning happens. When learning becomes more than just a subject, rather it gets transformed into a mindset, it becomes a way of life! Here, we emphasize on learning its technique at a very young age of 6. Just take a look at how our learners are engaged in some of the mind exercises. Grade-3 Learners reflected upon the significance of algorithms in our lives as something more and beyond the concept of coding. As they solved and went through the various levels of Emojicode, they created algorithms at a subconscious level and applied the same to solve the puzzle in a fun manner. 19
Grade-4 The game of ‘hide and seek’ became more fun when it was linked to visualization and sequential planning to achieve the outcome in this learning experience. As the learners worked towards achieving the objective of showing only a specific set of animals in this exercise, they carried out mental rotation of the available input tokens, tried the same in the given environment, i.e. animal boxes, and achieved the solutions with their subconscious minds continuously engaged in these mental manipulations. Grade-5 As the learners analyzed a few codes in their coding class, they associated them with their prior knowledge of the concepts and used the same to reflect and rectify the codes, thus strengthening their skills of debugging i.e. removing the bug/error from the code. 20
Grade-6 Learners got an opportunity to associate a range of variables to reflect upon and polish their mathematical concepts and carry out logical inferencing using the available information to solve problems in an independent and sequential manner. 21
