But we do have distributors in various parts of South Africa, Swaziland and Namibia. We are working on being more accessible as we do deliveries anywhere in South Africa. 26 WWW.MLMMAGAZINE.CO.ZA

MLM MAG: Did you perhaps grow within a business orientated family, what inspires you? Mbatha & Msweli: We are both from backgrounds that are not business oriented, so we’ve just had to learn as we go and do lots of research. We are both the brains behind this business as we contribute differently but as equally important for the suc- cess of the business. We are inspired mainly by our customers and their love for our product, it makes us want to do better and improve not only our product but also our service. MLM MAG: It is with no doubts that you are competing against big brands or names in the industry…tell us about the competition? Mbatha & Msweli: We don’t look at it as competition, to have competitors would mean competing of which we are not doing. We draw inspiration from those who have done and are still doing it because they have paved a way and showed us it can be done. The manufacturing industry has enough space for all of us, especially in cosmetics. MLM MAG: We understand that you use traditional ingredients in your products, does this give you an advantage when it comes to the market.. Mbatha & Msweli: We are not sure about the term traditional ingredients but all the ingredients used in our product are listed on the container, which are mainly natural and essential oils. MLM MAG: We have an alarming rate of unemployment in the coun- try, what is your message to the youth out there…? Mbatha & Msweli: Just like us, start where you are with what you have, because it’s after you start, that is when you realise it’s possible and it can be done. MLM MAG: Who are your biggest clients and where do you sell your products, do you have a factory, in the mainstream shops or do you only sell and deliver per order…? Mbatha & Msweli: Our main clients are in KwaZulu-Natal because it is where the business was born but we have grown in other provinces as well. We supply a num- ber of Pharmacies in KwaZulu-Natal and one in Limpopo. We also have individuals distributing African Skin Moisturiser all over South Africa, but we are working on broaden- ing our market. We process all our orders online and do our marketing mainly on social media plat- forms. MLM MAG: Thanks ladies, how can people reach you? Mbatha & Msweli: We offer wholesale prices for retailers who wish to distribute our product. EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Bittrain’s Dinah Mohala speaks to MLM Mag By Phumzile Ngcatshe She is one of the top leaders in the Multilevel Network Marketing sector and was recently promoted to a Ruby leadership role in Bittrain, she is Dinah Mohala. Born in QwaQwa in the Free State province and mentored by the influential Thembi Shilenge, Mohala exclusively sat down with MLM Magazine to reveal why education is important and what inspires her as a woman. Mohala earns not less than R20 000 daily from Bittrain automated trading platform and puts emphasis on education. MLM MAG: Thanks for your time Dinah, briefly share with our readers. Who is Dinah Mohala? Dinah Mohala: I was born in QwaQwa (Free State). I was raised by my mom who is a single parent together with my three sib- lings. I was a star in class and a top achiever academically every year. I always enjoyed working and speaking to people since from my younger age. In 2006, I started being a public speaker through “Young Communicators Awards” which was a public speaking competition by Sowetan and Anglo American. I also loved sharing my ideas through writing and that’s where I took part in the 2007 Readathon competition (partnership between Nedbank and CNA) where I took the first position nationally. MLM Mag: Brilliant…. Dinah Mohala: After my matric I was then awarded with a scholarship from Kagiso Development Trust where I studied Chem- ical engineering at Tshwane University of Technology. After completing my National diploma studies I went to work and decid- ed to go back to school for my BTech studies the following year and that was the year I met the lady who is mentor in business. MLM MAG: Why did you join Bittrain and how has your journey so far? Dinah Mohala: My journey to Ruby with Bittrain was very short. I developed interest in Network marketing in 2017 after witnessing the success of my mentor Thembi Shilenge although I was only watching from a distance, I only took a bold step in 2018 when I joined Nexus global and decided to be a leader there. We studied the same course at University of Technology, while I was busy looking for a stable job she achieved a lot of things through networking. I realized that Network marketing can actually take me back to being a public speaker and a presenter that I used to be, which is what I enjoyed doing the most and attracted a lot of audience. My aim in joining Bittrain has always been to set an example to people that sometimes you do not need experience to be the best. I started building my team with Nexus global without experience and I was doing my best, making sure that the whole team wins. With Nexus global I achieved Silver Rank and I was one of the top earners in South Africa. I then resigned from Nexus global in December 2018 and joined Bittrain which is a company offering different products and services leading to my new adventure. 28 WWW.MLMMAGAZINE.CO.ZA

MLM MAG: What challenges have you faced alone through out your journey? Dinah Mohala: The main challenge has always been to build my team and having reliable leaders from the very same team. I am working towards building a long lasting relationship with people who are willing to be leaders as well in future, people who are willing to go extra mile in achieving their dreams, people who never give up no matter how difficult the journey might be and people who believe in their very own testimonies. As much as I am a beginner, I am looking forward to working with leaders in my team who are willing to grow with me. MLM MAG: What strategies have you employed to gain amazing results and achievements? Dinah Mohala: In just a period of 1 year results are amazing. In just 6 months I managed to pay the outstanding fees I had for my BTech studies, bought myself a car (Hyundai iX35), I then took my younger sister to Tertiary and helped my mom with ren- ovation of the house and 5 months later I managed to buy myself a house (2 bedroom and 2 garage). MLM Mag: That’s amazing… Dinah Mohala: The success is amazing but getting here was nev- er easy, commitment and discipline are the most qualities I had to show. The best strategy that worked for me is making sure that everyone in my team understands the busi- ness, this makes it easy for my team members to work even in my ab- sence. For the team members un- derstanding business, that boosts their confidence as well, making it very simple for them to duplicate. I always make sure that I am avail- able for the team, that builds trust and most of them feel comforta- ble with me as if they know me in person even though most of them have not even met me. MLM MAG: Would you encourage the youth in South Africa to follow in your footsteps as we grapple with unemployment? Dinah Mohala: I am one person who doesn’t discourage people from being educated. I believe that ed- ucation will always be a key to suc- cess, however it all depends on us where are we using the key, do we use the key to access business op- portunities or to look for jobs? Our people needs to be educated about the benefits of having financial freedom and it doesn’t matter if we have 9 to 5 jobs or not. I am person- ally having a formal job at a mining explosives company working shifts but I do not allow that to blind me from seeing and using other oppor- tunities that are available for all of us whether you are educated or not. EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Leo South Africa Top Achiever THEMBI SHILENGE chats to us about her story from rags to riches By Phumzile Ngcatshe 30 Born in the North West province in Mmakaunyana, she is one of the most successful MultiLevel Marketing professionals at LEO Coin and she recent- ly had a chat with MLM Magazine to share experiences as well as her jour- ney from rags to riches. Currently based in Mabopane in Tshwane, the most-travelled businesswoman exclusively reveals to MLM Magazine that she will be in Singapore in June. MLM MAG: Thanks for taking the time to chat with us Thembi. Can you briefly tell us who is Thembi Shilenge? WWW.MLMMAGAZINE.CO.ZA

THEMBI SHILENGE: Thembi Shilenge was born and raised in a village called Mmakaunyana in the North West. I was raised by a single unemployed mother who used to sell vegetables for a living. I grew up in my grandparents’ home. I attended primary school in Khubamelo, then went to Dirisanang before heading to Mmakaunyana High School. In 2009, we moved with my mother and my 3 siblings, to a placed called Mabopane. I then did my Grade 11 and Grade 12 there. During my Grade 12, I received Merit Awards and a bursary because I was one of the hard-working students. I knewthe situation at home was very bad. Knowing I’m the first born at home I had to push hard to finish my studies as I be- lieved education is the key, then 2012 I started my journey at University of Technology, I chose chemical engineering as I learned that engineers were earning well as a profession. I used the bursary to study for three years then I finished my diploma. I grad- uated, then I got my certificate, now I had to start looking for a job. Okay, as a graduate finding a job was very hard and got my first job in 2015 in a platinum mine in Rustenburg. I was earning R10 000 monthly, but to me, it was a life-changing situation…..I would take 50% of my salary and send it home and would use the other for rent, food, and transport. I was working in a dusty place. Working shifts 6 to 6-12 hours a day, at the end of the month I got only R10000 and I believe it was a hand to mouth situation because I could not even save a cent. My dream was always to change my family situation from worse to better. MLM MAG: There are so many ways of empowering yourself in terms of finding financial independence. But why did you choose Network Marketing? THEMBI SHILENGE: I was looking into Leo 8 months before I joined it, I knew this is a life-changing opportunity, a perfect busi- ness but I was still busy building in Nexus Global (crypto mining) after I’ve done my research I knew Leo was a real business. Firstly they offer life coaching training, not just about Leo but about entrepreneurship as a whole. They teach you about busi- ness, there are live seminars in Leo where you can attend, these courses are presented by the best speakers and motivational coaches from abroad. I also liked their traveling incentives as I’m one person who likes to explore the world. I liked their educational packages. You can actually study through Leo, study any course of your choice, graphic, computer, HR, etc. When you complete a course you get an accredited certificate of completion. Through Leo, I didn’t only see money, but I saw myself developing business-wise, growing my skills in becoming competent as an entrepreneur (Network Marketer). Although I made money from previous networks, with Leo I made more than money. My life has completely changed, my network grew internationally through Leo trips where we get to meet other top leaders from other parts of the world. I joined Leo in Dec 2018 and I compiled my resignation letter in Nexus Global where I was earning R40,000 -R60,000 weekly. I risked all of that because I just couldn’t ignore Leo anymore. I have since discovered that network marketing is not only about making money but it’s about building relationships, building your own brand and changing, in- spiring, touching people’s lives, I then started my Leo journey. When I joined Leo there was a great incentive for the Dubai trip. So I used that as my selling point hence I moved quite quickly, three months later I was a director and I qualified for R600,000 in total. I got rewarded with iPhone, iPad, MacBooks, and pro- jectors within those three months of being with Leo. One thing about me is that I only recruit the first few people under me, then the rest will come after seeing my testimony. I’m going to place them under my first few so that we grow together, there shouldn’t be so much gap between me and my team members and in those threemonths with Leo, I managed to produce a director under me. Her name is Shocky Biazo, I’ve been mentoring her for the past 10 months. I managed to produce senior executives and so much more in my team. In addition, four months down the line I am a marketing director, I qualified for all Leo trip incentives. I went to Brazil in March, this June I’m going to Singapore, Cambodia, August it’s Dubai then March 2020 it’s the Maldives. MLM MAG: That’s interesting… THEMBI SHILENGE: Yes, at Marketing Director level I qualified for a car reward. To be honest I don’t have my own personal men- tor. I learn from anyone who’s succeeding. I even learn from people who are below me. I believe one person cannot know it all but I learn from quite a lot of people. The book that inspires me most, the book that changed my life, is called “Beach Money” creating your dream life through Network marketing…I would say that was my best mentor. WWW.MLMMAGAZINE.CO.ZA 31

MLM MAG: In any path towards success, it is rare not to stumble upon challenges. Do you mind sharing yours along the way? THEMBI SHILENGE: The most challenges is when people want to see your very own testimonial before they join your business, that’s what I went through in all my journey before I came this far. So my focus has been building outside my circle, building with complete strangers and once those who know me, see my testimony that’s when they come around. Building a team is not easy. It requires so many sacrifices, compromises, hard work and sleepless nights… I have built more through social network than through physical interactions. The truth is people buy into you, not the business itself, so many people who have been under my wing are following the business just because I’m doing it. My journey in MLM wasn’t so easy. Being an unknown is not easy to build a network but we all have to start somewhere and in this field you can be somebody and wake up being nobody, the trick of it lies through people, how you treat your people. Your leadership ethics, how you co-operate with people. Always be transparent do not rob people, because money is very sensitive. I’m not saying all the businesses that I did succeed, no. Some failed but because I’ve been honest from the start, I’ve been transparent and not taking people for a ride, that makes me what I am today. MLM MAG: You have achieved a lot in the sector and we can count your achievements for the entire day. What stands out the most for you? THEMBI SHILENGE: I only have three years in the field of network marketing, in just three years I’ve achieved more than I could ever imagine. I managed to buy my mom a house that was the first achievement in 2016, my first network was Bitclub Network. I learned a lot about cryptocurrencies there, I’ve never done a physical product in MLM. I’ve always been in cryptocurrencies, I even used to trade them through Binance exchange, I still do… In 2017 I joined Questra World and I’ve made it to a platinum agent that’s one step away to directorship level, I bought my first car and it was a second hand (an Audi A4) through it, but I loved it. I bought my first house, not so big but at least I bought it for cash. It’s a two-bedroomed house in my name then in 2018 I partnered with Nexus Global, I bought my brand new car cash. A Nissan Micra and purchased my second property as well through Nexus Global in 2018. 32 WWW.MLMMAGAZINE.CO.ZA

WWW.MLMMAGAZINE.CO.ZA 33

Then when I saw how big Leo was and I had to resign from Nexus Global and partnered with Leo full time, through Leo I’ve grown my network. Now the world knows who Thembi Shilenge is, I’ve achieved and changed so many lives. I’ve inspired so many people and I became better. I’ve travelled the world. Thembi Shilenge is a brand right now and it took me three years to build my network, during those three years, I’ve lost, I’ve gained, I lost friends. MLM MAG: With the country facing so many challenges but the one that tops them is unemployment. What kind of mes- sage can you share with the youth to achieve their dreams without actually being formally employed? THEMBI SHILENGE: I personally did my research about MLM after I bumped into a lady who was doing Herbalife and Avon. It didn’t make sense at first. It sounded like you had to force people to buy, but the depth of the commission structure she men- tioned grabbed my attention, I wanted to know more. Although I never tried products, I just went straight into cryptocurrency because I was mainly attracted to the business model of MLM where you earn a deep commission even if it’s not you that sold but the people in your organization. I saw this as a passive income. MLM MAG: Yes go on…. THEMBI SHILENGE: The only problem I’ve encountered with the youth is that they don’t like selling and they undermine peo- ple who are selling forgetting that an entrepreneur sells too. In life, you either sell a product or a service. So even if they go for “Bass John” he is still selling something. They are exchanging their service to “Bass John” but they are doing it at a lower profit. They are actually helping “Bass John” achieve his dreams. So the youth in South Africa need basic education on how to sell. I once worked in an insurance company, Metropolitan, where I was selling policies. I also learned a lot of selling techniques there as well as relationship building, customer service and how to handle rejections. When I was a chemical engineer I used to earn R10, 00 monthly until I started reading a book about network marketing and saw that I’m actually not moving forward but I am in a hand to mouth situation. Personally I rather sell than working for someone else’s dreams. In network marketing, the lowest wage I earned was R8,000 a week. As a chemical engineer, the highest I earned the month was R10,000, I then decided to do MLM full time and at this point, my total portfolio monthly is nothing less than R800, 000 MLM MAG: Let’s talk about the future, where do you see yourself in five years? THEMBI SHILENGE: My vision is to change as many lives as possible. Because my success lies in my network, my network is my net worth. I want to open my own cryptocurrency exchange, my own MLM Academy where I will be teaching the society about digital assets and network marketing, the whole world will know who Thembi Shilenge is. From a typical village girl to a successful entrepreneur, I want to empower many women out there especially who are single parenting. Working from home has been so amazing, you get to do whatever, whenever and wherever. MLM MAG: And your message to women out there? THEMBI SHILENGE: This is exactly what many women need, it can be a product or a service as long as you are able to network to make a success. Basically, it’s all about referrals and I believe it’s very important to keep a reputation as great as possible. You need to be able to socialize and build relationships with as many people you come across. In the next coming five years, I want to see my family being so proud of me, living the life of their dreams, the life I never had way back. My goal is to push almost everyone in the family to be independent to make their own money, I want to create over 100 millionaires in my team in the next coming three to five years. MLM MAG: You are definitely one of the inspiring hustlers to the youth and everyone out there. What support do your followers give in your journey? THEMBI SHILENGE: My followers from social media mean the world to me, the traffic they create, the recognition they give, the referrals they give is amazing. I do also show gratitude for my followers mainly on Facebook. I do give away competition for cryptocurrencies, prizes, etc. To keep the ball rolling. Some won Dubai tickets since I was awarded more than 10 Dubai tickets through Leo. I had given away some through com- petitions and there are lucky draw winners. I’m very inspired by the level of support and following I’m getting from Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. I mean many people know now who Thembi Shilenge is. 34 WWW.MLMMAGAZINE.CO.ZA

Thembi is actually a brand. The minute my name pops out people want to know about that particular business, that’s how clean I’ve kept my name. On the other hand, the thing that led to this huge following is that I’ve al- ways been transparent about my results, my journey on what I make, figures and all that – I don’t fake it. I don’t lie about it as much as it could be risky to show off, but people believe in results and I’m always showing off results with no failure. I think that contributed a lot to my following and I’ve always helped peo- ple even where there is no referral commis- sion. Because I believe whatever I’m doing today I’m doing it for tomorrow. Through network marketing, I’ve travelled the world, I’ve been to Dubai, Brazil, Mo- zambique, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Angola. In June this year, I will be in Singa- pore then Cambodia. I’ve won international trips like Rio De Janeiro, Dubai, Cambodia, and The Maldives… I’ve lived the life of my dreams, I have three properties in my name and two cars. I have over R1M digital assets (Cryptos) and I’ve met people from all parts of the world. I’ve achieved the highest ranks, I’ve touched so many lives. I’ve learned from others and have taught and inspired many especially the youth, I’ve lost friends. I’ve gained business partners. MLM MAG: We thank you for sharing your amazing journey and all the best for the rest of 2019 WWW.MLMMAGAZINE.CO.ZA 35
