2021 AISATS launches India’s first UV-C disinfection services In January 2021, AISATS DEL launched UV-C (Ultraviolet C band) disinfection services for aircraft interior cleaning at its location. 2020 Exemplifying the “Can-Do Attitude” with three consecutive wide body aircraft handlings and record cargo uplift AISATS HYD successfully undertook the handling of three consecutive Emirates (EK) SkyCargo wide body aircrafts on December 2, 2020 at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). The HYD team displayed great coordination to help the airline uplift a record 111 tons of cargo across all three flights. The usual cargo tonnage that AISATS HYD handles is approx. 25 tons per flight. This shows the extraordinary effort that the HYD team had to put in to carry out the three consecutive wide body handlings. To ensure seamless operations, the HYD loading staff and the aircraft cleaning crew worked closely to load the cargo onto the aircrafts as quickly as possible. Similarly, equipment operators and duty managers helped monitor the progress of the loading activities. As a result, all three flights were able to depart well before the scheduled ground time. Emirates called this an example of AISATS’ “can-do” attitude and said it was a “pleasure to watch in action”. 2020 Record cargo uplift for single flight despite strict lockdown conditions On August 26, 2020, AISATS TRV undertook a record cargo uplift of 66.1 tons for a single Emirates (EK) passenger converted freighter flight. This cargo uplift was close to the maximum payload limit of 73.9 tons. AISATS TRV ensured that all necessary manpower and equipment were allocated for this flight despite tight lockdown conditions. August 2020 was also a time of multiple cabin-loading cargo flights at Trivandrum due to the Onam festival season. Hence, allocating the available manpower to ensure seamless flight operations was an additional challenge. Passenger converted freighter flights were not a normal occurrence before COVID-19. Hence, AISATS TRV had to create specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for such flights. AISATS TRV showed great adaptability in handling such flights despite having a smaller workforce compared to some of AISATS’ bigger stations. AISATS TRV planned ahead of the arrival of the EK flight to position the necessary equipment in place and ensure that the necessary manpower was available to man every step of the cargo loading process. The station undertook meticulous planning and coordination between various departments/individuals (Turnaround Coordinator, Centralized Load Control, Aircraft Loading Supervisor etc.) to ensure that the cargo was loaded onto the plane (using the new SOPs) in the given time. Staff Engagement Events - AISATS DEL AISATS DEL held meaningful staff engagement activities in March 2020 as part of its workforce enrichment efforts.
