Sometimes it’s hard to keep the motivation to do an online exercise class, you may even be struggling to start… Exercise should be enjoyable, so for today’s edition we will focus on exercise activities that are FUN!. 1. Jump Rope – takes you back to your childhood? Buy a jump rope and see you get a good cardio workout in minutes. 2. Stair Stepping – Start stepping or running up and down your stairs in your home. Don’t have stairs?? No worries, find the biggest book you own (or sturdiest chair), put it in front of the TV and step up and down while watching your favourite show. 3. The Plank – One sure way to start building up your core. Get into a push-up position, but instead of bending your arms and moving down towards the floor, hold the posision with your arms extended for approx. 30 seconds. 4. Dancing – Dancing is an excellent way to burn calories and get your heart rate going while having fun. Turn up your favourite song and just dance like you’re on stage. 5. Water Bottle Weights - If you are looking to do some arm, shoulder, and back strength training, you can make your own weights by filling up water bottles. If using water bottles becomes too easy, use milk jugs. You can tailor the exercise to your level by filling the jugs to the exact weight that you need. For a greater challenge, increase the water amount just a little bit each time you workout.
