Hello! We are Sam and Kevin, from sunny Florida. Thank you for being willing to learn a little more about us! We appreciate you taking the time to look through our book, and we are excited to get to know you, as well. We’re a couple who loves adventures, but also who enjoys quiet nights in. We love spending quality time together, and with our family and friends. As individuals and as a couple, we have had our fair share of trials and tribulations throughout our lives.  However, we believe those struggles taught us so much and truly shaped us into the adults we are today. Ultimately, we are grateful to have experienced all we have. Laughter and love fill our home, and we have been blessed in so many ways. We wish to be parents more than anything and have dreamed of it for years. We have always known adoption would be part of our life’s story. We hope through the pictures and words in this book, you’re able to get a glimpse into our lives. Our hope is that this may be the beginning of something beautiful! With love, S&K

This is Us... We originally met at our Maryland college during a dorm meeting our freshman year. It’s crazy to think that was almost twelve years ago! Throughout our years in college, we became closer and closer as friends. After getting to know each other on a deeper level, our feelings started to grow beyond friendship. In 2011, we officially became a couple and have been together ever since. As they say, “the rest is history!” We have now been married for almost five years and consider our friendship the foundation of our marriage. We pride ourselves on the strength of our relationship, which consists of love, trust, adventures, and constant laughter. We are so thankful to share our lives together and know it’s something we should never take for granted. One of the first topics we discussed before getting into a serious relationship was about children. We both expressed a strong desire to have kids someday, and since then, we’ve eagerly talked about how we can’t wait to have children of our own to love, to teach, and especially to embarrass with our goofiness! Adoption has always been part of our plan in growing our family, and after struggling with infertility and loss, we know that now is the right time for us to do just that. We truly believe love is what makes a family and we have so much love to offer a little one.

About Me I treat our dogs as my children, love crafting, and enjoy relaxing on a beach. I have always been responsible, often being called “the mom” of several different friend groups. I’m the friend many go to for sound advice, or for the sunscreen they forgot to pack! I am extremely loyal to my family and friends, and support them just as they support me. I have always wanted to be a teacher and a mom. I currently teach English to children living in China. Once we have a child of our own, I'll be a stay-at-home mom and am so excited for it! What Kevin Says About Sam Sam is the most thoughtful and caring person I have ever met. She is always looking for ways to make others happy and remembers the little details to make people feel special. Sam is very family-oriented and has been the glue that keeps our groups together. While I may make the friends, she is the one who turns them into family by always being her kind and authentic self. It is no wonder she has been a bridesmaid many times. Also, she is an incredible planner. She has lists about her lists which keep our family on track and challenge us all to continue striving for better. My favorite thing about her is how her goofy and fun personality always keeps things interesting. Whether its her dance moves, unexpected jokes, or general clumsiness, she is always able to put a smile on my face and I can't wait to see her using all these skills to raise a young one. I have no doubt in my mind that she will be a great mother.

About Me I have always been passionate about nature and find comfort in the outdoors through boat time and trips to National Parks. More regularly, I walk the dogs or play in my softball league to stay active. Family is important to me and they have taught me so many life lessons including the importance of hard work, honesty, and lending a helping hand to those in need. I have always been driven and strive for success. With my job, I get to help develop talents in employees and help them achieve their goals. I can’t wait to do the same with our future child. What Sam Says About Kevin I have never met someone as level-headed as Kevin. He is the best supporter because he can look at all things with a widened view, analyze them, and then pull out something positive, no matter the situation. He has always been very patient, responsible, and honest. The unwavering support he gives to those he loves is admirable. Kevin is so charismatic, even a stranger feels like they have known him for years. His one-dimpled smile and his ability to make everyone laugh make him impossible to dislike. Even though Kevin is mature, he is such a kid at heart. He balances out my more serious side, and there is not a day that goes by where he doesn’t make me laugh! It’s the little things that make him the happiest, like being outdoors fishing or hiking. I know he cannot wait to have a little buddy to enjoy these activities with him, just like he did with his dad and grandpa.

Things we like to do together Learning to cook Thai food Travel: Our favorite part of traveling is immersing ourselves in the culture, especially through food. We’ve even eaten a scorpion in Thailand! We have shared many amazing moments with family and friends in different places and can’t wait to do the same with our future child.       Boating: We love the peaceful feeling of being out on the water, soaking up the sun. Dancing: We love to dance together in our kitchen and at weddings. Sometimes it’s a slow dance, other times we make up our own goofy moves. Home DIY Projects: Most of the furniture in our home has been refurbished or handmade by us. Our hope is that we can teach our child a thing or two about handywork! Meet Our Family Sam's Family Kevin's Family My family is so excited we’re My family is just as excited as we finally going to add a little one are to grow our family. My to our crew! When I was young, my family consists of my dad, parents divorced, and I mainly brother, and sister. Though lived with my mom, brother, and we’re a close family, we have a my half-sister. My sister has very special dynamic. When I always been more like a daughter was 16, our mother went to to me since we are ten years Heaven. With this, my dad and I apart, and she views me as a role grew closer and I now consider model. My brother and I have him to be one of my best always been close friends and we friends. Ultimately, I took on talk regularly. My dad eventually more of a mothering role to my re-married and his new wife siblings, but now I also get to be made the perfect addition. In high their friend. We Love Our Dogs (A LOT!) Both of our dogs were adopted from rescue organizations. They bring so much love and so many laughs into our lives! We enjoy taking them on walks, having them on boats with us, and giving them treats for their tricks. We consider them our kids, and love them as such. Our girls have been around children since they were both puppies, and it's always like they know they need to be more gentle with them. They have fun chasing kids, and are also happy to sit nearby and be pet.  Any time a kid is close, their tails go crazy with excitement! We have no doubt that our future child will be as obsessed with and as in love with them as we are! Home Sweet Home For us, home is truly a story of who we are, and a collection of things we love. We enjoy being home and entertaining friends and family! Our home is in a quiet cul-de-sac, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a 2- car garage. Additionally, we have a game room (the future playroom), a workout/craft room, and a workshop where we build everything. Our large kitchen, comfy living room, and spacious dining room are where we spend most of our time. We also have a very large fenced-in backyard where we have fun chasing our dogs and making s’mores in our fire-pit. We feel very lucky to live in a family-friendly neighborhood that is zoned for one of the best schools in the county! The location of our home makes it easy and quick to get to the beach, parks, and the nearby major cities. It seems like every weekend there is some festival or event to go to.

Traditions We Love Holidays are always big for us. We have many traditions for Christmas, including taking an awkward family Christmas photo. Each year we walk around a nearby neighborhood that goes all out with decorations. One of the gifts we give each other is a new ornament to add to our tree. We have two Christmas trees, and lots of buffalo plaid print everywhere! We already have many ideas for new traditions to start with a child and can't wait for them! Christmas Walk Christmas Walk

Seafood Festival Almost every October we attend a local seafood Pizza Night festival with friends and their kids. We love eating from the food trucks and looking at all the vendor booths. The time we get with our family, friends, and dogs is always precious to us. Whether it’s a game night, a walk around the block, or a dinner out somewhere, we enjoy it. We hope our future child loves to eat pizza because most Fridays are family pizza dinners! Every Halloween, we come up with a family- themed costume. Two years ago we were Darla and Alfalfa from The Little Rascals, so our dogs were pickles. Last year we were a woodland family. It's always fun to put these together for our annual Halloween party with friends! One of our other favorite traditions is in memory of Kevin's Greek grandpa.
