Siew Guang Hong Artist Biography Siew Guang Hong (b. 2000) mainly works with ceramics and soft sculpture, but is also experimenting widely with digital and motorized art forms. Through his preliminary explorations with different aesthetic principles, Siew has developed great fondness for principles of the fetish, abject and uncanny - often centering his depictions of biology and anatomy in the realms of the weird and eerie. The fringe nature of these concepts speak loudly to his academic explorations of queer identity, and he uses them to speak about his own experiences with marginalization and self-destruction. Siew graduated from School of the Arts Singapore in 2018 and is currently pursuing his BA (Hons) for Fine Arts in LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. Notably, he received the TIF-SOTA Scholarship, and was previously the recipient of the David Marshall Scholarship from 2017 - 2018. His works have recently been showcased in Beyond the Boundary (2022), Straits Gallery; Another Impossibility (2022), SOTA Gallery; Pulse Awards 2021, Pulse Gallery Bangkok (2022); TIF Virtual Emerald Auction (2021) and The Unforgetting Space (2017), TheatreWorks.
