TEAM HOPE RAftaeritnhe Finding hope in a time when the world lost it’s colors.

RAIN This part represents the start of the pandemic and how life for some were like. For many it was filled with concern and distress.

New Year, New Worry The year COVID-19 took over the world was the year the world had lost it’s vibrant colors. What it gained instead was fear, anxiety and stress over this new virus. The year 2020 has become synonymous with feelings of unease and dread. 1

2

The Otherside Many felt a yearning to go out as the year began a new rise of homebodies. 3

Sanitisers were frequently used in order to protect ourselves from the virus - so much so that pharmarcies would often be sold out of it. 4

Phone calls and online video calls were often done to make sure loved ones were alright. 5

New Norms The constant paranoia of catching the virus had rained on many. Endless temperature checks and Covid tests to make sure you were safe enough became the norm. Your phones and computers become the new barrier between interacting with your loved ones because anything more would’ve been simply too risky. 6

Alone with Your Thoughts As social interactions became more and more restricted, we were given a lot of time alone, only accompanied by our worried thoughts. 7

8

Homebound As the pandemic continued in 2020, many were forced to stay at home for the sake for their health and others. 9

A desire to get out and be as free as a bird. 10

Despite everything, there is still hope beyond the storm. The paper cranes can be a symbol of hope and healing during challenging times - reminding you that you are never alone. 11

“Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.” -Fred Rogers 12

RAINBOW Although at this time we still live in the state of a pandemic, a lot of colour was brought back into our lives. Even though it seems to be in ebb and flow, we can still appreciate the positive moments we have.

15

Turn of the Tide As we began to adapt to the pandemic, our situation began to change as restrictions became less strict and held us back less. We took more precautions which granted us a little more freedom. Luck seemed to be on our side. 16

“Life doesn’t get easier or more forgiving, we get stronger and more resilient.” - Steve Maraboli 17

Artistic Getaway Many sought to relax and take the pandemic off their minds once the situation seemed more calmer. Through calming activities such as painting, one can release their stress and frustration and find tranquility. 18

New Scene After seeing the same four walls, we could finally go out, although still under the shield of a mask. We were able to visit locations that we’ve missed and now seem nostalgic to us - like our favourite cafes or restaurants. 19

Reconnect We could finally meet our friends and family that we yearned to see for so long, in real life. 20

Safe Working Over time, businesses would reopen, although precautions such as masks were still worn and frequent sanitisation were done to ensure a a safe environment. 21

Back to Business Many were back to support their local businesses that were forced to close or operate online, therefore allowing them to flourish again. 22

Back to Work Our bedrooms which have become home offices can now return to a place of comfort as we go back to our regular working spaces. Art classes are being conducted again and introduces a way to unwind from everything. 23

Baristas return to their cafes to serve a bustling environment once again. 24

25

New Memories Finally reuniting with friends and family gifts us the joy and happiness of seeing them again after a turbulent time . 26

A symbol of new hope and a new start. 27

Stronger Together The efforts of our community through vaccinations, mask wearing and social distancing helped us slowly overcome the pandemic together. After a storm comes a calm Through working together and unity, we can pass this storm with flying colours. 28

This book captures moments during the COVID-19 pandemic that rose in 2020 and lasted in the years after. Moments of both hardships and happiness were presented in this book, with a hope to triumph and pass this heavy storm. TEAM HOPE
