Description: My first thought was that your best bet was a refurbished ThinkPad from Tier1Online, but it turns out that you really can buy new laptops with your preferred specification for less than £500, especially if they are older models at discounted prices. How to Use Your Own Router with AT&T Fiber – Step by Step Guide The use of routers has increased recently due to the fast and stable gig speed and larger coverage they provide when compared to other forms of getting online access. If your router is already fast enough, you may want to use it to combine with products such as AT&T fiber. Knowing what to do is good, but knowing how to do it is better. This review explains how to use your own router with AT&T fiber. You can combine your router with the AT&T fiber router or modem to create a high-speed internet connection. This article provides a step-by-step guide to doing this. If you have a router for a large house with lots of walls, you can combine both routers after doing some configurations by connecting the AT&T router to your router. What is AT&T Fiber? AT&T fiber is a smart technological innovation that uses light waves in place of electricity to transmit a large amount of data. It enables the powering of a 100 percent fiber-optic network when using the fastest AT&T internet plan that usually comes with 1000Mbps speed. This increases the rate of data transmission remarkably. What equipment will you need? To use your router with AT&T fiber efficiently, some equipment need to be available. This equipment will enable you to perform the right configuration. • Computer • Ethernet cable • DSL modem or Wi-Fi gateway How to use your router with AT&T fiber (Configuration and default servers) Step 1: Enter the computer’s web browser, and then key in the AT&T IP address for the router so that the router settings can be accessed.

Step 2: Enter your router page after inputting your user ID and password. This information may be found on the router’s label (as long as the details have not been changed before the configuration). Step 3: Enter the AT&T home page and to go the settings menu on the router page. Step 4: Select the LAN tab followed by selecting DHCP. Step 5: At the Range segment of the DHCP Network, enable the address by tapping on the radio button close to it Step 6: Tap the save button and then proceed. Step 7: Make use of an Ethernet cable to connect the LAN ports of your AT&T router and your router. By this time, the internet modem should already be connected to the WAN ports of the AT&T router. You can order a high-speed Ethernet cable on Amazon. Step 8: Lose the connection between the AT&T router and your computer and then reconnect again. Step 9: Go to the configuration page of your router and verify that the public IP address is set at 192.168.11. If not in line, check the AT&T router settings again. Step 10: Enter the AT&T router setup page located below the LAN panel, click on the wired Interface menu and check for wired connection. Step 11: You may be asked to disable the firewall of the new router. Default server: You can also use the default server mode which enables you to use LAN IP address instead of the normal WAN IP in the default server mode. To access the default server, follow these steps:

• Enter the browser of your computer and make a direct connection to the AT&T fiber gateway. Enter the IP addresshttp://192.168.1.254 • On the gateway’s GUI page, click on the Firewall tab and then select IP Pass through located immediately below the firewall tab. • Key in the device access code if prompted, click on the default server option on the mode menu. • When the default server address field displays, key in the exact IP address of the device you intend to use as your default server. • Save your settings and restart the computer. It should be noted that the procedures may vary based on the type and model of router you want to use with the AT&T fiber. Conclusion Connecting the AT&T fiber with your router may seem to be challenging at first due to the series of steps before you can achieve your goal, and deviation from any of these steps may lead to poor connection or inability to connect at all. At which point you would have to troubleshoot. However, once the connection has been achieved, it can work efficiently for wider ranges, with the connections being faster and retrieving larger chunks of data. With this guide, we have found out that it is not impossible to connect AT&T fibers with your other router. Hope this review has been of help to you in learning about using your router with AT&T fiber. Published by http://kamrul24.ml
