SPOTLIGHT ON:CareStone Health Network VALUE BASED SERVICES This month’s Service Provider Spotlight takes a look at CareStone Health Network, Inc. CareStone, based in Sunrise, Florida, provides national value-based intermediary services for out-of-network treatment providers. ENTREPRENEUR AND SENIOR EXECUTIVE President and CEO William McCormick founded the new business venture. McCormick has his BS in Business Administration and Management from Florida Memorial University and his MBA in Health Care Administration from Colorado Technical University. When asked about his background in the behavioral health industry McCor- mick says, “I’ve been in the healthcare industry my entire professional career. I have owned and operated several healthcare related businesses, a retail pharmacy, a durable medical equipment company, and a home infusion pharmacy business that I sold to Eckerd Corporation, which later became CVS. For more than twelve years I provided HIV/AIDs and cancer patients with home delivery services for south Florida communities in Broward, Palm Beach and Dade County. Our business model let patients receive quality care treat- ment at home versus having to go and stay in the hospital. “My connection to the behavioral health field is from a business standpoint. I’m not in recovery, I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, and I never did any drugs. I came to the industry to bring some of my business acumen to help with revenue cycle management, marketing, advocacy, and outreach, that’s my level of expertise.54 | NOVEMBER 2016 | Behavioral Sightings

The Expo was free to the public and offered educa- tional opportunities, resources, and solutions from top professionals and service providers working in the behavioral health industry. The annual one-day event, held to help celebrate National Recovery Month, placed a special emphasis on adolescent, young adult, and family recovery. Over 100 recognized industry leaders and exhibitors were present.
