1. Website Performance Cookies Our website is provided by U3AWeb. Cookies are used to improve its performance and enhance user experience. They are small text files which may discreetly be added within your computer (or other device) when you first visit a site or webpage, or when you take some other specific action. Cookies help the website to recognise your device the next time you visit. They also help to remember your username and preferences (e.g. the groups you select in the 'Group Planner'). Two cookies are utilised in our system: 1) To identify that you have previously visited the website from a particular device and therefore the initial splash screen is not repeatedly displayed on each visit. 2) To identify if you have logged-in to the website as opposed to browsing while logged-out. This allows the site to potentially show certain material to members that might otherwise be protected from non-members. Note: Users may delete cookies from their internet browser settings if they clear certain elements of their browsing data history. In this instance, the initial splash screen will subsequently re-appear, and users would be identified as a non-member until such time as they log-in.
