The Company's Fleet Vessels KOTC owns a distinguished eet of Ships that consists of 28 tankers, divided between 12 Very Large Crude Oil tankers, 12 di erent petroleum products tankers of various sizes, and 4 gigantic gas tankers. The total cargo of the eet is 4,7 million metric tons, which is the equivalent of 339,387 million oil barrels, and the average age of the eet is 7 years. DEAL OF THE YEARWINNER INTERNATIONAL MARITIME INDUSTRIESIn order to support its Vision 2030 strategy, Saudi Aramco has joined forces with three leading maritime companies.Hyundai Heavy Industries, Lamprell Energy Limited and The Saudi National Shipping Company (Bahri), to form a jointventure, International Maritime Industries (IMI). The new company is poised to be a game changer not just for theregion, but globally as well. Work is now underway to build a new shipyard on a 12 million m2 site at Ras al Khair inaudi Arabia, that will be the largest yard in the Middle East in terms of production capacity and scale. When the yard isfully operational in 2022, IMI will o er newbuild and maintenance, repair and overhaul services for a range of vessels,including VLCCs and rigs. In February this year two signi cant agreements were signed, with Bahri and Saudi Aramco,that includes contracts to build at least 52 vessels, including 20 VLCCs, and 20 new jack-up rigs over a ten year period.This guaranteed workload is a signi cant step forward for IMI as it guarantees that at least 36% of its capacity will beutilised from its opening date.
