The Third HSE Golden Hat I am so elated and couldn’t ask for a better team with what your endeavours are delivering on many fronts by all players from Company (T7 and Assets), Contractor, subcontractors and other service providers. With the build-up and increase in construction activities, the hours keep mounting quickly and tasks getting tougher. However the construction team is just striding in the right manner too ensuring the right safety culture is being inculcated and thus as a team we continue to live our target of no harm to anyone and no leaks. Zero means zero. Yes, a few weeks ago we marked the 5 million manhours and were congratulated but little did we know we would win another golden hat. Shell, as one of NLNG’s Shareholders has for the 3rd time rewarded the project with a golden hat in appreciation of the safety achievements made so far. Congrats to you all. This is well deserved. I am making space for more. Please let’s keep the vigilance and steadfastness as the task every day getting even tougher. Once more, well done to everyone. I am proud of you all. Ali

THEE NGINEERUSp’date Whenever I get the request to provide some words for input to the quarterly newsletter, it provides an opportunity to step back from the “day-to-day” detail - all too often focused on the issues and removing obstacles to delivery - to appreciate what we have achieved together. The numbers tell only a dry story, but it’s still noteworthy that through the sustained One Team efforts of the Company/Contractor team, Engineering maintained progress ahead of plan, achieving a cumulative total of 70.8% OOC and 59.19% IC by 24 June. When you consider more tangible milestones our collective achievements are better visualized. The contractor completed AFCH issue of 350+ PEFSs in this period with Company returning comments following a detailed assurance review. This issue reflected the resolution of more than 75% of the total of 2200+ actions arising from HAZOP/LOPA, OMAR, PEFS reviews, as aligned with Company through the “All-in-One” workstream. During this period, the intensive work continued supporting package HAZOP/LOPAs and Contractor’s address of the remaining open AiO actions to be closed prior to AFC issue, planned to start by end of October. Turning to the 3D Model - to ensure that quality was not compromised, Company worked with Contractor to establish and monitor a readiness plan for the 90% Model Review. This allowed us to align on a start date for 90% Model Review on 22 August. As the last formal model review, completion of this milestone will clear the way for Contractor to move into full isometric production. On the equipment & material requisitioning work-front, Q2 saw POs awarded for most of the remaining key equipment: Air-cooled Heat Exchangers (IC), Instrument Air Compressor, Plate & Frame HX and API Centrifugal Pumps (IC). The next plan is for the 132kV switchgear and Fiscal Metering Package to get over the line. Manufacturing of the Main Refrigeration Compressors continues apace – Q2 saw a successful Mechanical test run and completion of the first Frame 7 Gas Turbine as well as a successful rotor fit-up and clearance check for the CLU HPMR compressor. The Alarm Rationalization Workshop – a critical DEM-2 requirement to avoid the scenarios that have contributed to previous MAE, including Three Mile Island, Texaco Milford Haven and Esso Longford. The review is still ongoing but progressing well and we are now into the liquefaction units. Thanks for the incredible commitment and hard work from the whole team. It feels like an unrelenting challenge at times, but step-by-step we’re driving forward towards a successful engineering delivery.
Stakeholder Management We hosted the Executive Directors of the Board of the Africa Development Bank to the project site on the 17th of May. The team was really impressed by the performance of the company and the progress we have made with the project despite the global challenges of the pandemic. On the 14th of June, we received one of our major regulators, the Nigeria Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency (NMDPRA) on site. The team from NMDPRA included the Chairman of NMDPRA, Idaere Gogo Ogan and Authority Chief Executive, Farouk A. Ahmed, among other members of the delegation. We also received the leadership of the Nigeria Navy to the project site.
Introduction Christopher Kolade Operations Readiness and Assurance/ Commissioning Manager, T7 ORCSU and Start-up (OR&A/CSU) department exists to ensure the achievement of successful Start-Up and Ramp-Up (SURU) of Train 7 project scope. We are principally deepening the project’s relationship and fully integrating our SURU ways of working with key stakeholder groups that drive desired outcomes to meet the ‘Production Promise, future Plant Availability, Reliability and Maintainability’. World Class Start-Up and Ramp-Up (WC SURU) Sequel to the World Class SURU Peer Assist that was carried out in December 2021 by Shell P&T team, to assist NLNG in identifying risks that could prevent meeting the ‘Production Promise’ to Shareholders, ORCSU team has developed a SURU Management Plan which has been approved as the guiding plan to manage SURU, after it was widely reviewed by both Project and Asset teams. SURU Cadence meetings have been progressing well, in reviewing the identified risks and mitigating them to ALARP. Preparation is ongoing for a joint workshop with the Asset team to review the Integrated Activity Readiness Plan (IARP) and the Project to Asset (P2A) handover plan, aimed at achieving joint ownership. Production Division team was engaged on the SURU ways of working during their last Town Hall meeting as

Continued from page 1 We will now progress with the dredging of the location in the next quarter of this year. Meanwhile, work at Former Aggregate Berth (FAB) is almost completed and will be put into operation once the regulatory approval is received. The dredging of the FAB is progressing well and progress is also being recorded at other locations such as the Material Offloading Facility (MOF), the New Workers Village (NWV) and the Joint Venture (JV) Camp. Stakeholder management is also at the heart of this project. We hosted a number of stakeholders within this quarter with the major ones being the corporate executive visits led by Executive Management. The Executive Directors of the Board of the Africa Development Bank (ADB) and the Executives of Nigeria Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency (NMDPRA) visited the project site on the 17th of May and 14th of June respectively. Representatives of Stanbic IBTC Bank (one of partner banks for T7 Financing) also visited the site to appreciate the extent of work done so far on the 17th of July. It was delightful to see that all the teams respectively were impressed at the progress being made on the Train 7 project. Lastly, I appreciate the support we continue to receive from the Executive Management, Senior and Extended Management team, and several staff who just provide support in many cases without the T7 team even knowing. This has been helpful in managing the challenges we face on the project. This is a clear demonstration of the unrelenting NLNG spirit. I also appreciate our EPC Contractor, SCD JV, and all their Subcontractors who are working at the site for their strong spirit of collaboration, diligence, and hard work. The understanding and patience of the community has been vital and has helped us to achieve our target to train several community personnel on HSSE skill sets for this quarter. This is part of our human capacity development program. Preparations are underway to commence other human capacity development endeavors for the community on the technical skill sets in the next quarter. Finally, I appreciate the T7 Project Leadership and the entire Project Team Members for their resilience, demonstration of professionalism, and teamwork in managing a project of this magnitude. Kudos to the great T7 Team that continues to aspire to improve on all fronts. Let’s keep the spirit going as it is still a journey ahead! Thank you all.
