Football Under 16, Division 3 - Queenscliff 7-4-46 Ocean Grove 6-9-45 Queenscliff Football Netball Club is celebrating one of its most successful seasons in recent years with three premiership trophies. The Under 16 football team - co-coached by Steve Clark and Vaughn Notting - started a three-week silverware blitz with a nail-biting one-point win over Ocean Grove on Saturday September 2. Having finished on top of the ladder at the end of the home and away season, our under 19 netballers - coached by Hannah Stephens and Luci Hedley - went into their September 16 grand final showdown with Anglesea as favourites and did not disappoint. After trailing narrowly at the end of the first quarter, the Coutas put their foot down and ran away 19-point winners. Defender Felicity Rush was named player of the match. And our Colts and coach Paul Forbes were keen to erase last year's one point Grand Final loss from their memories and did so easily against Drysdale on Saturday September 23. A dominant second quarter in a low-scoring clash was enough to hold off the more highly fancied Hawks by 19 points.
