On the last day of Ganeshotsava, the Mangalarati is presided by arati sevadars. Devotees may indicate the number of aratis they wish to offer to Lord Ganesha, on the spot and the same will be performed. If Shashwata Sevadars moved out of Hyderabad city in due course, and are not able to participate in the Seva, their puja prasad will be sent to their new address by post if the new address is reported to the Samaj.

Gowda Saraswath Samaj 90 Annual Report SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES AND NOTES TO ACCOUNTS 1. The Financial Statements are prepared based on the historical cost convention with Incomes and Expenses accounted for on their receipt and payment respectively (i.e on Cash Basis). However interest earned on fixed deposits has been accounted for on accrual basis. 2. Donations of Gold and Jewellery items received in Kind is accounted on Fair Market Value and credited to Corpus Fund as per the terms of the donors. 3. Donations received during the year towards Building Fund, Permanent Sevas (Ganesh Chaturthi) and other Earmarked funds are credited to Corpus Fund. 4. During the year, the Samaj received Funds towards Corporate Social Responisibility (CSR) activities from M/s PMF Engineering Ltd. The Unspent amount is reflected in the balance sheet and separate bank account is being maintained for CSR activities. 5. Depreciation: Fixed Assets are stated at cost. No depreciation has been claimed as per Section 11(6) of Income Tax Act. No depreciation is allowed as the entire cost of asset acquired during the year is treated as application of income. 6. The balances with the banks in Saving Bank accounts and Fixed Deposits were confirmed by the respective banks. 7. The Samaj is exempt from Income Tax under Section 12A(a) of the Income Tax Act 1961, hence no provision for taxation is required. 8. Previous years figures are regrouped and recasted wherever necessary to confirm to the classification adopted for the current year.
