There is a wide range of activities offered each semester for LowerSchool students. Theses activities run for one extra hour after school hours and have amonthly fee. earj.com.br

The amount for each month will be the same regardless of holidays, students missing classes, or campus closed.When do activities take place?• The ASAP will start on August 20th and will end on December 14th, 2018 .How do I sign-up my child/children?• Select the activities you wish to sign-up your child/children for.• Fill out this form the Registration Form (at the end of this document).• Registration fee should accompany the Registration Form.• Attach first month’s payment to your registration form and turn it in to Ms. Cristiane Gomes at the LS Office, in a sealed envelope with your child’s name, grade level, amount being sent, the name of the activity your are signing him/her for, before August 24th.• If you have more than one child, please use the same envelope for both children and discriminate each child’s activity, respectively. *All other payments are to be made directly to the Activity Coordinator. Please refer to section “Fees, payments and dismissal procedures”.• Only forms that are accompanied by the appropriate fees will be accepted. If an activity has to beTrial Sessions:• Children are in the age of exploring and discovering what they like doing and are still learning about what interests them. So it is normal to “not know”. In order to provide them the opportunity to find out, we offer trial sessions for every activity week.celled (due to insufficient numbers) earj.com.br

• One trial session is allowed per activity. This means that children can try out as many activities as they like, once, from August 20th—August 24th. At the end of this week, they should be enrolled in order to participate the following week.• If after the trial session or first week of activity your child decides to withdraw from the activity, your monthly fee will be refunded (registration fee is non-refundable).Fees and Payments:Fees:• A R$ 100.00 non-refundable registration fee per student is required. The maximum amount per family is R$ 250.00. Ex. If you have 3 children or more your registration fee for all your children will be of R$ 250.00 max.)Activities’ Fees* :• Each activity has it’s own fee, considering materials, transportation and added costs. Activities can be proposed in two formats, once a week and/or twice a week. The monthly fee is to be paid, in advance, directly by the parent to the Activity’s Coordina- tor (AC). With the exception of the first payment which is to be paid to Ms. Cristiane Gomes at the LS Office, as described earlier.• Once a week = X R$ monthly per student• Twice a week = Y R$ monthly per student• The amount for each month will be the same regardless of holidays, students missing classes, or campus closed.If possible, teachers might try to re-schedule the missed classes. Payments:• Payments are due the 5th of every month, in advance of the month to come.• Any changes in activities or withdrawals should be made at the end of each month.• If you miss the monthly payment deadline your child will not be able to attend the ac- tivity.Transition from classroom to ASAP and Transportation:• The ASAP starts right after school. Lower School students are taken to the Mezzanine Area where they are picked up by their respective Activity’s Coordinator at designated locations.• At the end of class, each Activity Coordinator is responsible for taking all students to the Red Gate for pick-up. Dismissals will happen through Red Gate only.There is no transportation provided. If families are more than 30 minutes late, the teacherwill accompany the child to the Administrative Block and a security guard will wait insidewith them until you arrive. After three late pick-ups, the school will un-enroll the studentfrom all afterschool activities for the semesterMaterials and Snacks:Materials:Each activity has a different demand, so please connect with your child’s Activity Coordi-nator. Materials can range from uniforms, to appropriate shoes or apparel. • E.g.: Jiu-Jitsu, Capoeira and Ballet require uniforms. Snacks:Remember that the ASAP adds an extra hour to your child’s day.• Pack a light snack for your child. Children CANNOT share food in order to avoid allergic reactions/food intolerance. • Example: A small box of juice/coconut water, an individual cookie package (30gr) and/or fruit.• The amount for each month will be the same regardless of holidays, students missing classes, or campus closed.• If possible, teachers might try to re-schedule the missed classes. If an activity has to be cancelled (due to insufficient numbers) the reg-istration fee will be returned. Each class musthave a minimum of IMPORTANT DATES 5 students before the classcan be offered. Activities’ description and specific information:Acoustic Guitar (Mr. André Trindade—[email protected])Fun guitar lessons that embraces all musical styles! From Classic to Pop! Lesson are heldwith Mr. André Trindade—master degree in acoustic guitar from UFRJ)Art Around The World: (Teacher: Tatiana Magioli / Coord. Ms. Carla Richard)Come join in a journey around the world making fun, art inspired by culture from all conti-nents! Kids will get in touch with traditional art and crafts. Tales, myths, stories, symbolsand folklore art will be food for kids’ inspiration to create their own art. They will also learnto use different techniques and media.Art Lab:(Teacher: Tatiana Magioli / Coord. Ms. Carla Richard)Kids will play and create as they make connections between their own creative explora-tions and the materials, tools, and techniques we will be offering to them. In Art Lab kidswill have opportunity to set their imagination free producing authorial projects. They willdevelop their creative processes individually or spontaneously in group. They will experi-ments ways of making their ideas come true.Bricks 4 Kidz: (Ms. Crissy Bellagama / Ms. Tais Mansano)This is a hands-on class where students will design and build machines, catapults, pyra-mids, derby cars, buildings and other constructions out of LEGO® bricks. While exploringengineering, architecture and physics, students will develop problem solving and criticalthinking skills. Students will build a new project each month. Capoeira: (Mr. Bruno Jacques, [email protected] / Mr. Robson Rocha—96917-7431)Capoeira is a cultural expression of different arts such as fighting, dancing, acrobatics,poetry, rhythm, crafts and improvisation.These languages interact during activities and provide a flow of experiences in our body.During flow, the level of concentration is high and improves the acquisition of life skillssuch as determination, resilience, self-esteem, creativity and self-regulation. As well asimportant physical abilities like strength, flexibility, motor coordination, spatial notion.Cheerleading: (Ms. Roberta Pessoa—[email protected] / Ms. Carol Rocha)This activity is designed to teach children basic skills needed to advance in the sport ofcheerleading, by memorizing cheers and learning how to perform them. Cheerleaders willalso learn arm poses, proper posture, jumps, kicks and tumbling. Come be an EARJCheerleader!*Students are required to purchase a cheerleading uniform and a white, red or blue All Star sneakers.Coding & Game Development: (Mr. Guilherme Gani (EARJ Alumn) - [email protected])In this programming course, developed by MadCode School, students will learncomputational logic through game creation. They will also learn concepts such asvariables, conditional, loop and Boolean expression while programming through visualtools, an important step in learning algorithms. Cooking classes provide the kids with experience ofthe whole process of adding ingredients together, creating something unique and eatingthe finished product! Children might not even realize just how much they are learning be-cause they are having so much fun. Kids will learn Math skills such as counting, sorting, se-quencing, measuring and shapes. They will also improve their reading skills and their vo-cabulary. We also make sure they use their creativity by exploring colors and creating rec-ipes. It is amazing how many things they can practice with this hobby! Our cooking clas-ses includes health lessons and good nutrition. While cooking the kids will learn how to beresponsible, clean, safe and caring. The chil-dren that participated really enjoyed it and all the parents asked us to continue the activi-ty.
