Construction of the new church at Radcliffe continues at a pace despite theThe photographs below usual delays expected with all types of building work. The main hall of the chapelshow the construction is now weatherproof and it should not be too long before the extended roomsof the new chapel also reach the same point. With the scaffolding around the chapel the building has the appearance of the ark that Noah built. The build is currently ten weeks behind schedule and no doubt the extremely cold winter that we are experiencing will add to that. The building uses traditional lime mortar and this cannot be worked at temperatures below minus one degree Celsius. There was a delay in receiving the stone for the stained glass window and although this has now been delivered it has been found to be slightly too large! Some of the materials that had been planned to be used in the build have also been changed to ensure there is a lack of copper and lead as far as possible and therefore make the building a less attractive target to thieves. It is hoped that the completed building will be both eco-friendly and resistant to criminal activities whilst providing a wonderful witness to God in the area.Successful Musical Friars Green celebrates significantevents at Moorside birthdaysChurch The year 2010 saw four members of the W.A. at Friars Green I.M.
